i heard you could roll up paper, and put some white powder in it and when it hits, it looks like it exploded, but put tape on the bottom so the pwder doesnt fall

You could use "Pentel: Refill Erasers" you can get them at K-Mart. They are a little tube that has erasers for Mechanical Pencils in it. It is pretty much the perfect size for action figures.

the sticks from Push Ups work amazing in my opinion. While the don't shatter, they do look incredibley realistic, and with a bit of duct tape on each end, is perfect. You get like, 8 of them with a pack of Push Ups, for $2 or $3, plus you get the Push Ups..
and may I suggest the orange flavor? a personal favorite of mine

Ohh...Aren't those too wide to use as Light Tubes though?
I am not sure if I am thinking of the same thing though.

You could sculpt them, or use bamboo skewers painted white.

i use old clear pen tubes, take an old pen and take the nib off and the inside ink jet and tada! they're not as cheap as paper but still cheap as biro's are like £1 for10. ;D

I used Coffee Stir straw things. They work quite nice.

i just got a new idea, get any kind of tube like container with a very small diameter and about 3 inches tall and pour water in it and put in your freezer leaning upright and buy the time it freezes and you take it out you have a light tube that actually breaks
