the amount of folks online that genuinely seem to think this will be a continuation of Nolans trilogy is unreal..... they need to let that go or face serious disappointment.Nolan must have a sore throat by now saying that he is done with Batman,Bale too.hell Nolan has said on the MOS press tour that his involvement with future Superman/DC stuff will be minimal because he will be concentrating soley on Interstellar..... They'll get over it when they recast Batman, most of them anyway. They will have some time to adjust to the situation. Every franchise will face this obstacle, and has, when they replace a high profile character. We saw it with Batman multiple times, we definitely saw and are still seeing it with Spider-man, and the backlash against Superman over not being able to find the "next" Christopher Reeve, who only made one good Superman movie imo, has been astounding. Hell, I'm still doing it over Hulk, as I think Edward Norton made one of the best superhero movies we have ever seen and then didn't get to take part in Avengers. Don't get me wrong, Avengers is an insanely fun film, but in no way does it set the bar for me as a comic book adaption. I'm in the 10%, I've read thousands of comic books and probably have a much stronger knowledge base for the source material than the majority of movie goers on most of these films, but the way fans attach themselves to actors is pretty hysterical, I do the same thing so I'm including myself in that criticism. Ultimately, it's always going to be about seeing someones rendition on a story. That's essentially what reading comics has taught me. Why? Because I'm a writer snob. If it's by Neil Gaiman, Geoff Johns, Jeph Loeb or Garth Ennis then I automatically buy it. If it's not, then I'm forced to discover something new, and even against resistance, I might find another writer or character that I love. Because Neil Gaiman doesn't write comics on a consistent basis, I fill that void with giving other characters and stories a chance. Same goes for when Punisher, regardless of who is currently writing it, goes on hiatus, which it always does because it just hasn't been a popular enough character since Ennis stopped writing MAX. My advice, fall in love with the characters, don't hold an unrealistic expectation of what to expect, and chances are you'll find yourself enjoying a film or story more if you're not tied to an actor, or director, or whatever. Batman & Robin may suck, but it's a Batman film that I can pop into my DVD player at any time. It doesn't hurt that it exists, and ultimately, somebody-somewhere, enjoys that film the most. Hard to believe, I'm sure haha, but everyone wants something a little different from a movie, and pulls something different out of every story. My best example, Heath Ledger was the perfect Joker for me, and Jack Nicholson was the perfect Joker for you. We get both and we can enjoy both at any time. Maybe someone, at some point, will come along and do it better than both of them. Doesn't mean we lose those other performances. The characters live on though and that's the most important thing, regardless of whose rendition of the story or portrayal of the character you prefer. As a note, I loved Green Lantern, I loved the Director's Cut of Daredevil, and I not only enjoyed Punisher War Zone, but I think it was a pretty damn good adaption of a Garth Ennis MAX style Punisher. So again, just because the majority of people don't love something, doesn't mean it's not good or not entertaining for others. It's impossible to enjoy something though, if we aren't open to new variations and stories of timeless characters.

I thought Ruffalo was great in The Avengers but I would have preferred to have more continuity, with Norton reprising the role.

I don't want there to be another Bale/Batman movie in any way. His storyline is done. Time to reboot Batman with a more Sci-fi feel to it. That is the only way I believe a Batman/Superman crossover will work.

ok so online sites seem to be reporting since Friday that
1)Goyer/Snyder were definitely aiming for something along the lines of DKR and that meetings with Miller were upcoming.
2)they are looking for a Batman/Bruce Wayne in his late 30s/early 40s.
3)Josh Brolin is the lead name to play an established Batman at this point in time.
I don't really know what to think at this point.....DKR as a leading influence is not something I would have envisioned as a Superman/batman movie.I was thinking something more along the lines of a team up.....
still its hard to know at this point so Im not getting excited eitherway.

That is very encouraging to hear he is the frontrunner. I said to myself he looked like Bruce Wayne. He has the square jaw, like John Hamm, but also has the piercing eyes that Hamm lacks. He's the perfect age, has worked with Warner before, and would be my pick for next Batman. Great choice imo. Just no Bale Batman voice, but more Conroy please.

I find Josh Brolin to be a terrible choice, personally. My #1 choice remains Scott Adkins. He would make a stellar Batman/Bruce Wayne...but on the short list they've released...
I'm going with Joe Manganiello.

I think they'd be foolish to let him go... he's arguably the biggest movie star in the world (at the very least, the biggest action star) and is the most talented actor ever to play Batman. They should back up a truck full of money to his front door and just keep dumping until he takes the part. Sign him to a RDJ type of deal where he has a presence in all of the upcoming DC movies even if it's a small one. I think if they really nail this Batman/Superman movie, it could beat The Avengers and Avatar at the box office. I don't think they can do that without Bale.

I just hope they do it right and enough with everything being real world. I don't think they can compete with marvel.

Im hoping things will develop nicely though.... also if they use Bale....will it be a continuation of Nolans trilogy?Nolan has been resolute there will be no continuation of his stuff.Bale has said numerous times he is done and considers the story told. I officially dunno what to think
