I collect legends because I'm a collector, but as silly as it sounds I'm not a fan of Mattel figures. I buy them for accessories or heads to supplement my Massive Jakks collection.

I find about 90% of Mattel figures to look hideous. The ones that have a lot of accessories to cover up their wafer thin arms and legs look much better. Are you honestly intellectually- disabled? Thanks for your irrelevant opinion.

I'm on fence. Mattel does better with attention to bodies but Jakks did a better job with headscans and paint apps.

Definitely happy so far. No other company has done it better. The scale is excellent and that attention to detail makes a huge difference to me. In just 3.5 years I'd say they've pretty much embarassed Jakks, and I honestly can't comprehend how anyone sees it differently. It's a matter of opinion and taste, but to me it isn't even close. Of course they are not perfect and there are issues with character and attire/accessory selections, plenty of mistakes have been made, but those are balanced out by over all great work on most of the line. Looking forward to what we see in the years to come.

Very happy. I'm glad the line is going well and hopefully the relationship with WWE and Mattel keep flourishing and we get Mattel to produce figures for 20+ years.

Mostly happy. They're by far the best wrestling figures ever made, obviously, but there are flaws. The body proportions and scale seem to be getting worse. Ziggler and Cody are not bulkier than The Rock. And the quality control is lacking. Price escalation lately sucks. But they're great toys. I find about 90% of Mattel figures to look hideous. The ones that have a lot of accessories to cover up their wafer thin arms and legs look much better. Are you honestly intellectually- disabled? It's just his gimmick (same as that guy who always posts about Jakks UFC outselling Mattel). He doesn't really believe it, he's just having fun.

I think they are doing a great job so far. Sure, there have been figures that missed the mark, but overall they have been excellent. My only wish would be for more Legends or Flashbacks of 80's Superstars.

When you stand a Mattel side-by-side to a Jakks counterpart, I don't think there is any comparison. How anyone could honestly say the Jakks is better is beyond me. Mattel is doing an amazing job. I'll take more realistic, "wafer-thin" arms over giant, oversized, shiny ones. My only complaint with Mattel is their limited roster so far. Jakks would, and did make everyone. I'm happy with the flashbacks, legends, and exclusives that we have gotten, but I'd like to see some more 80's and 90's guys, But spare me the reasoning; we all know why they haven't done, and may never do it. This 100%. I still don't understand how anyone could think Jakks was better by any stretch. I don't know if it's because they invested so much time/money that they don't want to let go, or that they are biased, but Mattel product is leaps and bounds better than Jakks was. Wafer-thin arms? I disagree, but prefer Mattel arms over the balloon-inflated Jakks arms. And hey, at least my Undertaker figure is taller than my Shawn Michaels figure. I've posted this picture before, but it's such a good case: ![](http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7011/6532214371_b34607097b_z.jpg)

Far superior than Jakks in every single way possible! Deffo Thumbs Up on what they're making. Only few problems / flaws for me is finding getting the right Torso tooled correctly first time round for certain guys. Batista & Ryback got ridiculously skinny torsos in both the Basic & Elite line. All the Basic Jack Swaggers that got released were skinny too, but then they fixed that & made that bigger, thicker version with the new chunkier Torso & Legs & that was perfect. Now I wish they would release that new Swagger mould a few times more but in all the previous Basic Skinny Swagger's attires. Hope Ryback gets a Bigger Torso at some point in both Basic & Elite. Which brings me to my next point; attires: I hate the fact they won't release an attire just because it may not have been worn in a while or only warn once. If we the fans / consumers all seem to want or agree on a specific attire, why can't they just bring a figure out in that attire. Most people seem to want Punk in the Bret Hart attire which he wore twice, that is a proven fact from how many people have made customs / fix ups, so I hate it in these video interviews when they are like "Well, they've only worn it once or twice so we won't do that attire". It really is a lame excuse. I know some of us will complain, it's outdated, etc, but I think when it's something like the Punk attire which is a fan favourite there should be some exceptions to the rule. Especially how far it is between lines or figures coming out. Example, RVD isn't expected for another 9 months, I might see 5 or 6 attires I like of his by the time the figure comes out, but because it was so long back, we might not get a cool attire. The length between the release of sets. Yes, I know Jakks managed to just miss out & avoid the recession as they were heading out the door, but they always had a product coming out non stop & I wish Mattel were a bit more like that, the thing about re-paint sets is it gives us the chance to get some more attire choices that we want whilst also maybes sneaking in one new character or so into a re-paint line. WIN / WIN for a couple of situations. Mattel have been brilliant at getting most of the current roster out from 2010 - Present, but the odd few either only got a Basic or an Elite, but not both. I would have liked an Elite Trent Baretta, but, I have to make do with just a Basic. They need to try & get any & all characters out in both a Basic & Elite ASAP. I know some of it might be WWE's fault & what limitations they can put on Mattel, but surely this is where Mattel can go & do their own deals with people, Flashback's & 80's / 90's / Attitude Era Themes are seriously lacking WCW & ECW Wrestlers, some of them may not appeal to masses which isn't good business wise for Mattel, I get that, but maybes they can go back to releasing a few more names on Matty Collector, I want the likes of Magnum TA, Buff Bagwell, Tommy Dreamer, Balls Mahoney, Sabu, Shane Douglas, Scott Hall / Razor Ramon, 1-2-3 Kid / X-Pac, Lex Luger, Goldberg, Ric Flair, etc, it's really lacking WCW & ECW guys. That's one thing I did like about Jakks, they went after all & anybody they could do no matter how obscure. The lack of accessories for the Real Scale Ring. Yes, I know they didn't sell well, BUT, there were quite a few of us who bought them & I know I would much rather buy add on accessories for my Elite Scale Ring than buy loads & loads of tiny rings I don't need that just clutter whenever I want a different accessory. Just release a Steel Cage on it's own we can Clip on or Fit over our Elite Ring. Release a Cell & then Release a Chamber. Some more Ringskirts would be essential too. Start doing accessory packs like Jakks used to do, whether that be for you to get your Tables, Ladders & Chairs easier or to get Ringskirts & Belts etc. But I doubt we'll ever get anything for our Elite Scale Ring. Basic Rings are far too small for figures & the Elite Scale Ring is too big for some people's homes. So, how about Mattel attempt a new size Ring that is like a Happy medium in between. The Hardcore Ring from Jakks was a good size, wasn't that 16 x 16 if I remember correctly, I'm sure someone here will correct me. Well, maybes Mattel can just add a couple of extra inches & make it 18 x 18, that way, it's nice & spacious for figures (But not ridiculously spacious like the Elite Ring ) & doesn't take up massive sized space on people's floors. Mattel not re-doing or doing their takes on 2 & 3 Packs that Jakks did or other particular figures from Jakks. The fact that Mattel's products are far superior to Jakks their are a few things from Jakks I'd like Mattel to copy or do as I certainly wouldn't mind buying them again in a better quality product, for example, I'd love Mattel to do their versions of Bret vs. Shawn Screw Job pack, Shawn & Diesel 2 Dudes with Attitudes Pack, Shawn & Triple H DX Pack, Shawn & Razor WrestleMnaia 10 Pack, Freebirds 3 Pack, Internet Exclusive RVD with the WWE Spinner & ECW Championships, etc. There are a few things I look at from my Jakks collection & think Mattel could just blow them out the water. Correct Elbow & Kneepads. They used to give Jericho & Punk the small Kneepads which was correct, then they switched to the big Kneepads that they don't wear. They still give Miz & Bryan the Small Kneepads which they do also wear, so why mess around with the Punks & Jericho's? I have to keep stealing the small Kneepads off other or duplicate figures to put the correct pads on people. This is something I'd really like for Mattel to fix. Finally, paint apps. I think the way Mattel makes applies some of their paint apps really makes or breaks a figures look or appearance. When people on this board can strip paint away from certain figures & reapply themselves to make it look better, it's like well why couldn't you just apply it like that in the first place Mattel, usually Taker & Punk figures being the main culprits that this applies to. But yeah, not really complaining even though it looks like I've wrote an essay bashing Mattel, LOL, but I'm not. I absolutely love & adore their product & just want to buy more & more, honest & will continue to do so as long as they have the license. Go Mattel! ![:D](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/grin.gif)

Yes and no.
No, because they got experimental big time, right off the bat(DM,EG,ESR,Legends,6 packs) before a lot of new/old collectors could make the jump to the Mattel line, it didn't bring them in what they wanted, and they became considerably more conservative as a result. Also, it's redundant but they kicked off the Legends line with a lot of figures in obscure attires, some of which were some of the biggest shelfwarmers in the Jakks era(Bushwhackers, Orndorf, Funk, Rhodes, Shiek, Volkoff, Bob Orton ) and when it didn't work they went, "whoops, that didn't work, let's never do that again."(though they are incrementally trying to their credit.). Also, sometimes they screw up figures before they make an accurate version(Zeke, Swagger, Orton, I remember people had issues with B2 Punk). That's a lot of shoulda/woulda/coulda stuff though.
Also yes, because the paint apps, variety(yes, even with the usual shelfwarmers, they're still a billion times more varied than any other line), and scale are unprecedented for any figure line I've collected in my life so far. They're impressive to say the least.

They make some great figures, but some bad decisions. So most of the figures come out looking great, but some of the attire choices kill lines like legends line. Then they cancel the line and blame us instead of taking the blame like they should have. I really would like them to give legends another shot and do it right this time.

Plus the majority of head scans are really bad. E22 Rock looks like Maven. When Jakks put effort into their figs they absolutely blow ANYTHING Mattel has ever done away. The only thing that Mattel does better than Jakks is scale. I have roughly 2000 jakks figures and about 20 Mattels. Loose or MOC? If it's MOC wouldn't like to see the room it takes in your house haha.
