Some people are really skilled painter's, and some use decal's. As for taking off a torso, only advice i can really give is go so, and take your time.

i thought people use that decal paper stuff that peels off. for paints i think it's acrylics and for the torso's just boil the torso it doesnt snap off an then try it and try to be less aggressive if your snapping bits off.

so I am guessing Decal is paper that sticks on things when you peal it off. Thats cool. Where can you get Logos that are small enough.

and as for splitting the torsos and such, you just get better at it after doing it a few times. I destroyed the first few torsos/legs I tried to separate, and I was thinking the same thing- HOW do these people do it! But I kept trying and can do it without barely a stress mark now.

I've never used Decals but my customs aren't the greatest or most detailed. You can get any logo offline and print it off on Decal paper. For the torso thing. Boil some water, put the figure in it until the joints seem loose. Pop the head off first then go in to the armpit with a flathead screwdriver and it should pop right open. If you get stress marks, put the figure back in the water for a little bit longer and it should go away.
