Smackdown, slamma jamma. Alberto Del Rio versus Drew McIntyre with a World Title shot on the line for Del Rio? Obvious result in the making. Barrett vs Del Rio will certainly make for an interesting match at Over the Limit. Barrett better win. BABABABABABOOOM! Dean Ambrose versus Randy Orton at Over the Limit should be grand and I expect Ambrose to either win or Orton via disqualification. Ambrose could go nuts. On to the other stuff. Creepy Kharma is coming for AJ and Kaitlyn. I forgot she existed, honestly. Mark Henry beating CM Punk is huge for him but I don't see any way Henry wins the belt. I think it is Punk or Bryan's come Over the Limit. Heath Slater is the man, baby! Not just the man, but the one man band, baby! Him losing, of course, is no shock-master. I like the tag team division at this point and time, I hope you can continue to expand it and keep this division going. International Airstrike beating The Usos was fine. Anyway, a solid show and I am looking forward to Over the Limit already.

I'm not the biggest fan of the format, but whatever gets bae writing again. Looking at NXT, the tournament to crown the NXT Champion started off very well. Sami Zayn being on the roster now is a bit strange, but I'll take it. He and Damien Sandow advancing is cool, though I see Seth Rollins being the eventual winner. Brad Maddox qualifying for the tournament is an interesting call. I love me some Maddox and hope he shines in the tournament since I can't imagine him winning. Rollins vs. Hawkins, heh. I remember some other fella doing that on NXT in 2012. Derrick Bateman vs. Leo Kruger is a bit of a downer since I'm sure that Bateman will lose. Kruger doesn't do much for me, really. Onto SmackDown, Alberto Del Rio finally earning his World Heavyweight Championship match was expected. Him vs. Wade Barrett is a unique match up and one that I look forward to at Over the Limit. I do find it odd that Del Rio vs. Drew McIntyre main evented a show that also featured CM Punk vs. Mark Henry. Henry going over his massive. I'm fine with it, though, since I doubt that Henry will become WWE Champion in the Scramble match. Randy Orton against Dean Ambrose at Over the Limit is going to be a hot bout. While I would love for Ambrose to get the win, I cant say for certain if he will. AJ Lee vs. Kaitlyn on RAW for a Divas Championship opportunity is something that I look forward to. Either against Kharma would tell an interesting story, really. AJ's size puts her at a massive disadvantage, while Kaitlyn's strength could provide for a legitimate challenge for Kharma. Things are rolling on the road to Over the Limit. Can't wait for the go-home week.

Raw Report May 14th, 2012 | Petersen Events Center [University of Pittsburgh] in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
| Headlines
- At the top of the program, the WWE Champion walked out to the ring with a bag and was grimacing, holding his ribs from his match with Mark Henry on Smackdown. Punk spoke about his infamous words last year where he talked about making a change in the WWE. One of the things he mentioned was that he wanted the WWE ice cream bars back and he has made changes happen. He opens the bag and tosses brand new WWE ice cream bars to the fans. When he’s done with that, he says that he is the catalyst for a change in the WWE and to continue to make changes, he needs to keep the WWE Title and guarantees that it isn’t going anywhere. Sheamus cuts him off surprisingly and joins him in the ring. He takes an ice cream bar for himself but says that with all due respect, he plans on taking the WWE Title from Punk at Over the Limit. Before Punk can retort, John Laurinaitis walks out to the stage and says that the Scramble Match is not going to be about the two of them respecting each other, it’s about doing what it takes to win the WWE Title. He says this is why neither man is like his hand-picked World Champion Wade Barrett. He then books Sheamus vs. Wade Barrett for later tonight.
- In an interesting moment, Drew McIntyre came out to address the fans, dressed in a full suit with Eve Torres in tow. He cut a promo about being the “Chosen One” since his debut back in 2010 and being the man that Vince McMahon saw as the “future” of this business. He also brought up his Intercontinental Title victory and how his career was a beam of hope until Teddy Long decided to wield his power. He claimed that Teddy never liked him so he held him back and it led to a losing streak. McIntyre praises John Laurinaitis for giving him a chance but it disgusts him and Eve to see someone like Ted Dibiase target him. He called Dibiase someone who was both with a silver spoon in his mouth and someone who doesn’t deserve the opportunities that he’s given. Dibiase comes to the stage and says that the time for talking is over. In his words, the Dibiase Posse is tired of Laurinaitis and his cronies. He challenges McIntyre for the United States Title. McIntyre chuckles but says that even though Dibiase doesn’t deserve he would love nothing more than to put him in his place at Over the Limit.
- Promo videos air throughout the night to promote the upcoming match between John Cena and Chris Jericho. They were shown throughout the evening in chronological order, featuring all of Cena's triumphs over Jericho until Extreme Rules when Jericho reversed the curse of sorts. It then focused on the "one more match" taking place this Sunday.
| Other Stories
- The Tournament to determine a new Number One Contender for the Intercontinental Championship continued with both Semi-Final matches taking place here tonight. John Laurinaitis hyped up David Otunga before his match with Christian, but the most recent number one contender took another step towards a third shot at Cody Rhodes when he beat Otunga following a frog splash. On the other side of the Tournament, it was a battle of David vs. Goliath when Rey Mysterio took on Brodus Clay. The man who was able to beat Big Show at Extreme Rules was unable to best the smallest World Champion in history as a timely distraction from Big Show allowed for Rey to score a sneaky victory roll win.
- After losing to Rey Mysterio, Brodus Clay was livid in the ring. Big Show laughed hard at ringside before Clay grabbed a microphone and demanded a match with Big Show. He knocked him out at Extreme Rules and he wants to do it again this Sunday at Over the Limit. Show takes a microphone and agrees to a match but only if it’s a Knockout Match. The only way to win is to knock your opponent completely out. Clay agrees and the card for Over the Limit is getting more stacked by the hour!
- For the past few weeks, Zeb Colter has been appearing during episodes of Raw and Smackdown informing the WWE that he and his Real Americans would be coming to the WWE soon. Tonight they finally did. His Real Americans consisted on a returning Jack Swagger and the debuting Antonio Cesaro. Swagger was sporting slicked back hair and a beard and Colter said that while Cesaro wasn’t American, he is of Swiss descent, he knows that America is the World’s greatest country and he is a realer American than everyone in the stands. The team looked great, defeating Primo and Epico and showing off fine chemistry. The tag team division should be put on notice.
- Zack Ryder was seen sulking backstage due to his recent struggles when Kane appeared behind him. Things started off with some clear tension due to their history but Kane says that he came in peace. He hates Eve Torres just as much as Zack does and she seems hell bent on teaming them together so they should throw it back in her face. “Are you asking me to be your partner, bro?” asks Ryder. Kane shakes his head and says they should team up but he has to stop with the “bro” stuff. Ryder’s spirits seemed lifted and he pumped his fist in excitement, while Kane looked disappointed.
- It was highly anticipated once it was announced and Wade Barrett’s non-title bout against Sheamus delivered. It was a hard hitting contest with plenty of near falls and the WWE Universe wanted nothing more than to see the “Celtic Warrior” teach Wade a thing or two. He seemed to be gearing towards a victory as he began to beat his chest in anticipation for the Brogue Kick until the theme of his biggest rival, Dolph Ziggler hit. The “Showoff” never showed though and when Sheamus turned back towards the World Champion, he was taken out with a vicious forearm shot. Barrett followed with Wasteland and won. He was also seen telling the camera that this was a preview of what Alberto Del Rio will feel at Over the Limit.
- Two friends went toe to toe as AJ Lee took on Kaitlyn with a shot at the Divas Championship on the line. Eve Torres, the Official Assistant to John Laurinaitis sat at ringside to witness this. The best friends shook hands before the match, which made Eve give a disgusted look. It was a competitive match that was cut short by the sound of laughter. Kharma, the Divas Champion, walked to the ring with malicious intent in her eyes. She entered the ring and completely tore apart both of her potential challengers. Eve watched from ringside with a huge grin on her face.
- We got another vignette of The Miz and Mason Ryan in Hollywood as Miz films The Marine 3. He continues to try and show Mason how to release his inner “movie star” and be as charismatic as he is. He asks Mason to read some of his lines and he’ll play the other person in the film, but Mason reads it and it’s incredibly wooden. Miz mutters something along the lines of “a lot of work needs to be done” before the cameras cut away.
- In a main event clash that excited every single independent wrestling fan of the past decade, Daniel Bryan faced CM Punk and boy, did these two deliver. They produced one of the best matches in recent Raw memory with various counters and callbacks to their past together. It was great to see both guys have a fantastic contest and Punk reversed the Yes Lock into the Anaconda Vise, bringing the WWE Universe to their feet. This all went down the drain as Dolph Ziggler actually appeared this time and began to wail away on Punk causing the disqualification. Ziggler laid out Punk with a Superkick and then hit Bryan with the Zig Zag leaving him to be the only one standing and with a ton of momentum heading into Over the Limit.

MONDAY NIGHT RAW, May 14th 2012: A nice promo from Punk and Sheamus, and WWE ICE CREAM BARS! YES! John Laurinaitis was such a great heel authority figure, and you did him justice here. I really like the idea of the pairing of Barrett and Laurinaitis. You really put over the Drew McIntyre and Ted Dibiase match with that excellent promo from Drew. McIntyre was never used to his full potential in real life, and I hope you do him justice here. He could easily be a great WWE or World Heavyweight champion. I like the video packages on Jericho versus Cena. A great feud between the two, but I have the feeling Cena will come out on top. I like Christian and Mysterio moving on in the tournament, and you also listed Otunga instead of Clay in the quick results. Big Show vs Brodus Clay should be an interesting match. I hope you put Clay over here, could be a huge victory for him. I like the debut for the Real Americans, should be a good team for the tag division. Kane and Ryder is an awkward pairing, but comedy should ensue from it. Please have Ryder develop his own mask. Barrett going over Sheamus was good, Wade is a great champion and should be showcased as such. A good win for International Airstrike, I hope they get a tag title shot soon. (The match also wasn't on the quick results portion.) I love your Kharma angle, and I can't wait to see where this goes. I honestly can see Kharma just destroying Zack Ryder. Hollywood Miz is awesome. Punk vs Bryan was awesome, and Ziggler causing the DQ is not something I'm fond of but I understand why you did it. Hopefully a rematch between Punk and Bryan can be seen in the future. Overall, a great episode of RAW. Keep up the good work.

Monday Night Raw, already an amazing show with ice cream bars. I should just stop reading now, so, amazing show. Peace.
Just kidding, a good opening promo setting the stage for the matches later on tonight with John Laurianitis. Drew McIntyre versus Ted DiBiase doesn't make me too excited, but it'll be fine so long as McIntyre manages to win which I assume he'll do with ease. Christian and Rey Mysterio each advancing in the Intercontinental Championship number one contenders tournament is good, either one of them would present a good challenge for Drew McIntyre down the road. Love seeing Zack Ryder and Kane be a team. It's kind of your Bryan/Kane thing, but it actually keeps Ryder relevant unlike before. Even though it would be extra awkward with what they had happen between them. Anyway, moving on. The Real Americans beating Primo and Epico came as no surprise, nor Wade Barrett topping Sheamus. The involvement of Ziggler and Del Rio, obviously, enhanced the situations for both storylines. I imagine with the Diva's contest we might see a triple threat title match. Finally, what would obviously be a grand main event and WrestleMania worthy, with the appropriate call to end in disqualification and chaos going in to Over the Limit. Per usual, a solid show.

The NXT Report May 16th, 2012 | Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida
| Headlines
- The Tournament to crown the first ever NXT Champion continued as Seth Rollins stepped into the ring with one half of a main roster tag team in Curt Hawkins. Hawkins was accompanied to the ring by Tyler Reks, who played a major role during the match. He would interfere numerous times, tripping up Rollins and getting in a cheap shot. Rollins would even things out by diving outside onto Reks and taking him out. He would step inside and nail Hawkins with the Blackout to advance to the next round.
- Match two in the NXT Title Tournament tonight pit “The Hunter” Leo Kruger against “Mantastic” Derrick Bateman. While this wasn’t on the level of the Hawkins/Rollins bout, it was still a decent contest. Bateman impressed by getting multiple near falls and Kruger seemed poised to win with a lariat. Bateman would duck and roll up Kruger for the surprise win! Bateman celebrated and Kruger was in disbelief in the ring. The brackets were shown informing everyone that Sami Zayn would face the winner of Richie Steamboat vs. Johnny Curtis next week, while Damien Sandow will take on the winner of Bo Dallas vs. Tyler Reks. Seth faces the victor of Trent Barreta vs. Kassius Ohno and Bateman meets the winner of Big E Langston vs. Brad Maddox!
| Other Stories
- The tag team of Corey Graves and Jake Carter were given the chance to showcase their skills on tonight’s episode as they faced off against two local talents. Tag team competition has been heating up in NXT as between Carter and Graves, The Ascension, Michael McGillicutty & Johnny Curtis and Adrian Neville and Oliver Grey, there is fierce competition there.
- Down in NXT, the women are just as hungry to make the main roster as the men are and it showed in a tag team match tonight. The “Anti Diva” Paige partnered up with Emma to take on Summer Rae and Sofia Cortez. These are four of the more impressive Divas down in NXT and they put on a good match here. The heels snuck in the win when Sofia Cortez pinned Emma after hitting a sunset flip powerbomb.
- Another vignette aired for Raquel Diaz, the daughter of Eddie and Vickie Guerrero. She’s looking to make an impact on NXT and claims that she was born to be the WWE Divas Champion.
- Also on tonight’s broadcast, we got pre-taped promos from the rest of the competitors in the NXT Title Tournament and it was announced that next week, Brad Maddox takes on Big E Langston while Bo Dallas faces Tyler Reks.
- Dusty Rhodes had some backstage interactions with Michael McGillicutty and Johnny Curtis. They were not pleased that McGillicutty got bested by someone who was making his debut. In their opinions, Sami Zayn had no business being in that Tournament. Dusty smiles and says that if Sami didn’t belong, McGillicutty would’ve beaten him. They leave, clearly frustrated, but make it clear that this is far from over.
- There was one other match on the show and it showcased “Showtime” Percy Watson as he took on Aiden English. English looked pretty good in there, but is in serious need of a character at this point because he came off as relatively bland. Watson is all about the personality and he won following afloat over DDT.

Nothing much to comment on with NXT, but I'm going to comment on it anyway. Seth Rollins advancing in the NXT Championship tournament is for the best, as is Derrick Bateman. You've got a stacked group of guys competing for the NXT Title, which is a good thing as you get to display a lot of talent at the same time. Odd world we live in to see Emma and Paige losing at this juncture of their career, but hey. Oh my God, I completely forgot Eddie and Vickie's daughter was in the WWE at this time. Maybe you'll actually have her do something! That'd be nice to see. Anyway, I'm hoping with Over the Limit around the corner you'll do it in full length, as it is already heart breaking enough to see shows like this. But, like I've said, I don't care as long as we get product!

Smackdown Report May 18th, 2012 | Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania
| Headlines
- Smackdown kicked off to the tune of Alberto Del Rio’s theme and a chorus of cheers. He was still all business as he got into the ring and instantly called out Wade Barrett. He says that this all started because of John Laurinaitis but it got very personal, very quickly when Wade chose to target his best friend, Ricardo Rodriguez. Del Rio claims that he doesn’t want to wait until this Sunday and wants to get his hands on Wade tonight. Instead of Wade Barrett, he gets David Otunga, who steps onto the stage to a ton of heat. Otunga speaks on behalf of Mr. Laurinaitis and announces that tonight’s main event would put Alberto Del Rio and Ted Dibiase on one side of the ring against Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre. Del Rio likes the announcement and looks forward to getting his hands on the World Champion.
- The other big story coming out of Smackdown would be the finals of the tournament to determine the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. Since winning the title last August, Cody Rhodes has been on a tear, defeating Booker T, Christian and many others. To find a new challenger, the finals of an eight Tournament took place here, pitting Rey Mysterio against Christian. The match nearly stole the show for the evening as it went back and forth. In the end, a well-timed 619 led to a new challenger for Cody. Rhodes, who was on commentary, entered the ring and planted Rey with the Cross Rhodes. He then cut a promo on Rey, reminding everyone about his victory over Rey at WrestleMania XXVII last year. Cody says that he’s a different, more focused and determined man this year and Rey is going to get hurt on Sunday.
| Other Stories
- One of the most highly anticipated matches on this Sunday’s Over the Limit card is the one pitting Dean Ambrose against Randy Orton. Tonight however, Orton stepped into the ring with the “One Man Band” Heath Slater. As one would expect, this didn’t last long as Randy Orton made relatively quick work of Slater. He wouldn’t get to enjoy his win as he was jumped from behind by the “Lunatic Fringe” himself. Ambrose would take the fight to the outside and nail Dirty Deeds onto the steel steps, giving himself a huge upper hand heading into Sunday!
- In the main event of the evening, two men who have stood up to the regime of John Laurinaitis, Alberto Del Rio and Ted Dibiase took on Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett. McIntyre and Barrett both showed off their respective titles before the match to taunt their challengers for Over the Limit. This was given a lot of time and really allowed for the four men to showcase their talents. In the end though, Del Rio was close to victory over McIntyre only to have Barrett level him with the World Title. An all-out brawl ensued and was even until David Otunga came down and hit Dibiase in the back with a chair. The numbers game overcame the faces and Laurinaitis’ supporters stood tall to close the show.
- After winning last week, International Airstrike was granted a Tag Team Title shot against the Prime Time Players. The PTP cut a very entertaining promo with Abraham Washington before the match, dissing Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel for their lack of personality and saying that they aren’t worth “millions of dollars.” International Airstrike came very close to winning the straps on a few occasions but would fall to the Clash of the Titus.
- For the past month or so, Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus have engaged in a bitter feud that started because of Dolph blatantly disrespecting the legendary Mick Foley. They’ve met in multiple matches with Dolph coming out on top multiple times until Extreme Rules, where Sheamus finally bested him in a Belfast Brawl. Both men are headed towards the Scramble Match at Over the Limit and had another one on one match here. Just like the others, this was top notch as they’ve developed a great chemistry together over time. Sheamus began to signal for the Brogue Kick after nearly ten minutes of action but Dolph ducked it and rolled him up with a handful of tights to steal one. He quickly escaped the ring and signaled that he would soon be the WWE Champion. Sheamus was furious in the ring.
- This past Monday on Raw, Divas Champion Kharma interfered in the Number One Contender’s match between AJ Lee and Kaitlyn. Here on Smackdown, Kharma faced Natalya in a non-title bout. This was nearly as interesting as Kharma’s WrestleMania match with Beth Phoenix, because Natalya is a very powerful Diva. She fared rather well but Kharma proved to be too much for her to handle. After the match, both Chickbusters, AJ Lee and Kaitlyn rushed to the ring and attacked Kharma. AJ delivered multiple kicks to the leg before Kaitlyn actually took Kharma down with a Spear! The crowd popped as Kharma rolled outside until Eve’s theme hits. The Assistant to John Laurinaitis came to the stage and announced that at Over the Limit, Kharma would defend her title against both AJ and Kaitlyn in a Triple Threat match!
- There was a backstage segment featuring Xavier Woods throwing a party along with Naomi, Cameron, The Great Khali and Yoshi Tatsu among others. Seeing them trying to emulate Woods’ dance moves was rather comical, but the fun was cut short by the appearance of Jinder Mahal. He claimed to be tired of the shenanigans that go on around Smackdown and he challenges Woods to a match next week. Woods, of course, accepted.
- A promo aired for this Monday’s Raw, questioning if there would be a new WWE Champion or not. It also promoted a first time ever match between Alberto Del Rio and Chris Jericho! Will Del Rio be World Heavyweight Champion for this contest?

Alright, Smackdown before Over the Limit. A decent main event set up for Alberto Del Rio and Ted DiBiase going against Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre. Not the most attractive match, but it obviously makes sense with everything. The Prime Time Players defeating International Airstrike I am glad with, hopefully they get in to a deeper feud as this tag division can be built up. Kharma winning was obvious, as it was needed. Dolph Ziggler getting a cheap victory over Sheamus was fine, keeps Sheamus strong going in to Sunday but gives Ziggler the win. I don't see anybody taking the WWE Championship from Punk, however. Get that man some Ice Cream bars. Randy Orton killing Heath Slater. Then Dean Ambrose killing Randy Orton! I look forward to their match on Sunday and fully expect Ambrose to win or lose via disqualificaiton. You know, cause he is a lunatic. Rey Mysterio becoming number one contender is alright. Him versus Rhodes again is kind of meh, but keep putting Cody over and it'll be fine. Finally, a main event that went an expected route with disqualification. With John Laurinaitis' support group standing tall, it could mean ends of title reigns on Sunday, but I think both McIntyre and Barrett will keep their belts. A solid show, looking forward to Over the Limit.

May 20th, 2012 | PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina- The WWE signature flashes across the screen before a video package plays. It focuses on the WWE Championship Scramble Match competitors before moving to the World Heavyweight Title build up. The attack on Ricardo Rodriguez is a focal point and Alberto Del Rio’s quest for revenge against John Laurinaitis and Wade Barrett is highlighted.
- “War of Change” by Thousand Foot Krunch blasts over the PA system in the PNC Arena as pyro explodes and the camera pans over the jam packed crowd. Michael Cole, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Booker T welcome the WWE Universe to tonight’s show and hype up the card. The theme of the Intercontinental Champion hits as we are taken to a short video package chronicling the recent Tournament to crown a number one contender.
- Intercontinental Championship: Cody Rhodes [c] def. Rey Mysterio in 14:19 >> The Intercontinental Title run of Cody Rhodes has been filled with great title defenses. From Booker T to Goldust to Christian, but tonight was right up there with those. This was a different dynamic than their WrestleMania XXVII match. Cody was very aggressive and tried to pick up the win on several occasions early on. Cody wisely targeted the knee, trying to keep Rey from going aerial. It worked as, after hitting the 619, Rey climbed to the top but his leg gave out and he crashed to the mat. Cody lifted him and hit the Cross Rhodes to retain.
- Cody Rhodes raises his Intercontinental Title high in the air as Michael Cole informs us that Cody has successfully reached day 285 of his historic reign. He promised to be the greatest Intercontinental Champion in history and Rey Mysterio now makes three former World Champions that he has defeated during this run.
- John Laurinaitis, Eve and David Otunga are shown in the General Manager’s office when Matt Striker enters to ask if Mr. Laurinaitis has any plans for the World Heavyweight Title match. Laurinaitis gets upset and demands to know what Matt is insinuating. Matt says that he is simply wondering if he will be at ringside for the match. Laurinaitis changes his tone quickly and says he was just joking. He promises not to be at ringside tonight and even guarantees that everyone in his office will be barred from ringside tonight. He believes in Wade Barrett.
- Divas Championship: Kharma [c] def. AJ Lee and Kaitlyn in 7:50 >> Since her return at the Royal Rumble, Kharma has run roughshod over the entire Divas division, even forcing former Champion Beth Phoenix to take time off. This match would feature a dynamic that not even she was used to as Kaitlyn and AJ, best friends, charged at her together in the early stages. Besides Beth, they are the first Divas to get Kharma off her feet and to the ground even though it took two of them. Unlike a lot of Triple Threat matches involving partners, this didn’t features the friends going after each other when one tried to secure victory because Kharma was never down for long. After a vicious spinning back fist to AJ, she nailed Kaitlyn with the Implant Buster onto her and retained.
- The referee hands Kharma the Divas Title but doesn’t even try to touch her and raise her hand. She snatches the belt and exits with it, leaving the Chickbusters completely destroyed in the ring.
- Eve Torres is shown watching on a monitor backstage and she has a smile on her face. She seems to really be enjoying the destruction that Kharma is causing the Chickbusters.
- A promo airs for No Way Out and it focuses on a lot of the heels in the company being locked away behind bars.
- Grudge Match: Randy Orton def. Dean Ambrose via disqualification in 13:44 >> This was clearly gearing up for a war as Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose went at each other right from the bell. The match spilled outside but the official refused to end this in a double countout so he followed them as they fought around ringside. Ambrose was like a man possessed, using cables to choke Orton and clearing off the announce table. He wouldn’t be able to use the table though as Orton would hit an RKO on the outside. The crowd went nuts, but Orton was too hurt to capitalize. When he did roll Ambrose inside, the Lunatic Fringe was able to get his shoulder up. Orton was stunned and went for the Punt but Dean dodged it and sent him into the post. He went outside and grabbed a steel chair, bashing Orton with it and ending the match.
- While Randy Orton is the winner in the record books, that didn’t seem to matter to Dean Ambrose. He just kept wailing away on Orton with the chair, all over his body. Multiple officials came down to try and get him to stop but he just kept going, even shoving some officials down. He finally stopped after planting Orton with the Dirty Deeds onto a chair before leaving with a crazed look in his eyes.
- Josh Matthews is backstage with Alberto Del Rio, who gets a huge pop when he appears on screen. Josh asks how Alberto is feeling heading into tonight’s big match with Wade Barrett. Alberto says that he has never been more focused. Not only is he doing this to become the World Heavyweight Champion, but he’s doing it for his friend, Ricardo Rodriguez. He then promises that he has a surprise for Barrett and the WWE Universe later tonight.
- Knockout Match: Big Show def. Brodus Clay in 5:48 >> Last month at Extreme Rules, these two brutes went toe to toe in a straight up fight. This was similar though it didn’t spill out of the ring like their previous encounter. Both guys hit each other hard but this was kept relatively short. Clay surprised a lot of people with an impressive suplex but eventually charged into the WMD and was out for the count.
- Backstage, CM Punk is shown preparing for his huge WWE Title defense tonight when Daniel Bryan enters. Punk gets his guard up but Bryan says that he comes in peace. He reminices about them coming up together and says that it’s incredible to think that they’re in a WWE Championship match together. Punk agrees but says that their friendship and history go out the window when the bell sounds. Bryan agrees and guarantees to walk out of the building tonight as the new WWE Champion. YES! YES! YES! He leaves shouting that as Punk looks on bewildered.
- Singles Match: Chris Jericho def. John Cena in 17:02 >> Last month at Extreme Rules, Chris Jericho defeated John Cena for the first time in his career, but it was in a Last Man Standing match. Now, Jericho wanted to prove that he could finally pin Cena’s shoulders to the mat. This proved to be a tougher task than expected as Cena was as resilient as ever. He kicked out of two Codebreakers, a Lionsault and even countered the Walls of Jericho into the STF. Jericho managed to survive some of Cena’s offense but the story was how shocked he was that Cena continued to get his shoulder up. Cena went for the Attitude Adjustment but Jericho slipped free and rolled him up to gain the surprise three.
- As Chris Jericho left up the ramp with his arms raised in the air, the camera focused on John Cena. He was sitting in the middle of the ring in disbelief. Cena’s terrible 2012 continues as he has lost to Kane at the Royal Rumble, The Rock at WrestleMania is arguably the biggest match in history and now twice in a row to Chris Jericho. Something is not right with Cena, who gets to his feet to a chorus of boos. He rolls outside, picks up the steel steps and launches them in anger. Michael Cole states that he’s never seen Cena like this.
- A video package airs, recapping Wade Barrett winning the World Heavyweight Championship and being hand-picked by John Laurinaitis as “the man” in the company. It showed their attack on Ricardo Rodriguez for Alberto Del Rio “failing” them and Del Rio’s retaliation leading to this title match.
- World Heavyweight Championship: Wade Barrett [c] def. Alberto Del Rio in 16:06 >> Del Rio’s surprise that he had for the WWE Universe and Barrett was the return of Ricardo Rodriguez! The crowd popped hard for this and it got them even more into the match. There were a few missed spots near the start, but once they got going, things picked up. Del Rio targeted the arm, which was wise as Barrett needs that to lift him for the Wasteland. Del Rio managed to lock in the Cross Armbreaker and Wade looked to be on the verge of tapping out when David Otunga ran to the ring which caused him to break the hold. Rodriguez took care of this though, pulling Otunga down and wailing on him with right hands. This distraction was enough to allow Barrett to low blow Alberto and pick him up for the Wasteland, which got him the three.
- The WWE Universe booed loudly as Wade Barrett was handed the World Heavyweight Title. He clutched it tightly and celebrated up the ramp with a hurt David Otunga as Ricardo Rodriguez checked on Alberto Del Rio. It was extremely clear that this was far from over between Del Rio and Barrett.
- A promo airs with the American Flag waving in the background. Zeb Colter and the Real Americans, Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro, step in front. Colter cuts a passionate promo about this country and says that he can’t believe that there are so many un-Americans in the WWE. In his mind, the performers in the company need to be proud and feel blessed to be Americans but most of them are ungrateful. He say that his Real Americans will bring pride and patriotism to the WWE Tag Team Titles very soon.
- United States Championship: Drew McIntyre [c] def. Ted Dibiase in 9:39 >> After what just transpired in the previous contest, the WWE Universe wanted no part in seeing another one of John Laurinaitis’ favorites. Drew McIntyre got booed throughout the bout and Dibiase brought the fans to their feet with multiple near falls. His rebound clothesline worked once but when trying it a second time, McIntyre ducked and connected with the Future Shock to retain.
- Just like the last match, the crowd boos heavily at Drew McIntyre retaining the United States Championship. John Laurinaitis is nearing a perfect night for himself that would feature Wade Barrett and McIntyre retaining, and possibly a world where CM Punk is no longer the WWE Champion.
- An ad airs for this week’s episode of NXT on Ion Television! Big E Langston steps into the ring with the upstart, Brad Maddox while Bo Dallas faces Tyler Reks in the NXT Title Tournament!
- A commercial is shown for the historic 1000th episode of Monday Night Raw, coming this July! It will be a 3 hour Special!
- WWE Championship Scramble Match: CM Punk [c] and Daniel Bryan def. Dolph Ziggler, Mark Henry and Sheamus in 20:00 >> The first two competitors were CM Punk and Daniel Bryan, meaning that Punk had a long way to go to retain his gold. The two of them had a great first five minutes that was filled with great wrestling. Things get interesting as Sheamus joins the fray next. The Celtic Warrior came in hot and took care of business, pinning Punk to become temporary Champion quickly. As Dolph Ziggler walked out at the 10 minute mark, Punk scored with the GTS on Bryan and won back his belt. Poor Bryan was just getting to his feet as a Zig Zag put him down for Dolph to get a pin. Mark Henry was last out and pinned Sheamus to win the title, only for Dolph to win it back. With time winding down, Punk hit Sheamus with the GTS and went for the pin, and at the same time, Bryan pinned Dolph with a diving headbutt. Both guys got the three with 17 seconds and immediately went after each other but the bell sounded during their fight.
- Confusion. That’s the word that could be used to best describe the end of that match. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan were separated but nobody knew who the champion was. One official raised Punk’s hand but another raised Bryan’s. This brought out John Laurinaitis to massive boos. He stayed atop the ramp and announced that he wanted to do things in the best interest of “People Power”, so he orders a sudden death finish between Punk and Bryan.
- WWE Championship Sudden Death: CM Punk [c] def. Daniel Bryan in 4:02 >> This sudden death finale was a heart pounder. Both guys were exhausted but went for finishers early, only to have them countered. They each tried their signature submissions, but both opponents reached the ropes. Bryan tried the Yes Lock but Punk fought it off and managed to roll through into a pinning combination for the three.
- The audience roared as CM Punk rose to his knees and was given the WWE Championship. Against all odds and sudden death, he manages to still be the WWE Champion, for what is now six months! He celebrates as Daniel Bryan looks on frustrated to close the show.

A part of me hurts for not having a full in-detail pay-per-view from you, Kevvy baby. Oh well, better than nothing. OVER THE LIMIT! Cody Rhodes retaining the opener was solid, obviously he was going to keep the belt. Kharma beating AJ and Kaitlyn in dominating fashion. The only thing about Kharma is that when she loses, does she lose her appeal? Moving forward, an expected decision for Dean Ambrose to get himself disqualified against Randy Orton. Love seeing him go insane because, you know, that is what he does. Lunatic Fringe and all. Following up, a match I honestly could care less about between Big Show and Brodus Clay. Albeit, I appreciate you trying to give Brodus something worth while but you know. Show was gonna knock his ass out and I hope it knocks him out in to the bottom of the roster. Never liked Brodus, or whatever the hell they are calling him in TNA now. Tyrus? A little bit surprised to see Chris Jericho beating John Cena but I like the idea of you continuing with the whole 'embrace the hate' malarky. Maybe a heel turn down the road! MAYBE! Anyway, next up the World Heavyweight Championship is on the line and Wade Barrett retaining was the best call. I wouldn't pull the strap off of him until Summerslam time. Drew McIntyre retaining was for the best. Release Ted DiBiase. Or, something. I can't believe I used to be so high on the guy. Anyway, the WWE Championship Scramble Match! I love the way you had it come to a sudden death, unique twist on the scramble match and it gave Punk and Bryan a chance to showcase - even if for four minutes. Could build up a solid feud between the two as well. Punk retaining was for the best, of course. A good Over the Limit event and hopefully you keep going and stay interested, bae-two.

WWE Over the Limit: Sunday 20th May 2012…Glad to see this layout make a return, you should stick with it. The one you took from me (hehehe) isn’t really the best, as I found out. I started finding it hard to find motivation to write, honestly. A great choice for the opening contest, with Cody Rhodes getting a win against Rey Mysterio to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Not too much to add to that, it served its purpose and I like that you are running with the long title reign of Cody’s. I hope you’re careful though, you don’t want it to be in CM Punk’s turf. It’s nice to see that John Laurinaitis is still the General Manager at this point. I hope he sticks around longer, to be honest. What happened to the World Heavyweight Championship? Kharma retaining the WWE Divas Championship against AJ Lee and Kaitlyn was fine; weren’t AJ and Kaitlyn still protégés under the tutelage of Natalya at this point? Nice match to show Kharma’s superiority and dominance over the womens division. Beth Phoenix took time off, huh? Up next, it’s strange to see Dean Ambrose this early on in a big time match with Randy Orton, utilized in the first hour main event. It may be a little quick to move Ambrose up to this level just yet, but I’ll let it pass. I like Ambrose using the steel chair to continue the rivalry: I hope Orton wins it though. I can’t see Ambrose being trusted enough to beat Orton this soon into his run as a WWE superstar. Oh, Alberto Del Rio is a focal point right now? That’s good to see, he got the biggest reaction following WrestleMania XXVIII in real life. Good to see you enforcing him as a babyface here. Big Show defeating Brodus Clay, okay. Nice effort to try and give Brodus some character. Wish there was more backstory to explain this, but okay. It went the right length, and the Knockout stipulation showed Show’s meteorite punches. Heh, fun segment with CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Chris Jericho defeating John Cena was a big surprise, but it was best to have this one – even though they last feuded in 2008, where I’m sure Jericho got a win or two against Cena. A solid win for Jericho – gotta wonder if his incident with Brazil that happens next week will interfere with his current run as in real life. John Cena having a horrible 2012 is great, I think that angle was great, even if WWE didn’t deliver as good as they could have in giving Cena so many losses. A few more pay-per-view losses for Cena will reinforce his horrible year. Wade Barrett with a win against Alberto Del Rio is fine, a great attempt to show Del Rio as a top babyface but you’re doing a good job of making Wade Barrett look like a solid heel World Heavyweight Champion. I wonder when you’ll finally have Barrett stop using the Wasteland. Horrible move for a finisher. Up next, filler time! Drew McIntyre retaining the WWE United States Championship is fine, his opponent being Ted Dibiase is amusing though. Would have made for a dull, dull match. This one may have gone on a few minutes too long for a filler match between main event tier bouts, though. And lastly, the Scramble match goes overtime? Interesting decision here. CM Punk and Daniel Bryan reigning supreme in falls over Dolph Ziggler, Mark Henry and Sheamus is innovative, and the final face off between Bryan and Punk with Punk retaining the WWE Championship had to have made for an interesting finish. I normally hate Scramble matches for the WWE Championship – they’re an indication of lazy booking. Fun to see you give Punk a main event win, too. Nice work with this pay-per-view, I am interested in seeing more Punk and Bryan interaction that you have started tonight.

OVER THE EDGE! Oh, sh*t. OVER THE LIMIT! Probably the best way to kick off the show with Cody Rhodes successfully defending the Intercontinental Championship against Rey Mysterio. Would have been dreadful to the see the other result. I really hope that Rhodes' reign launches him into the main event scene sooner or later. Kharma running through AJ Lee and Kaitlyn was expected. The Implant Buster to those sweet, sweet implants </3. The disqualification finish in the contest between Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose was certainly the best way to go. The aftermath put Ambrose over strongly, but I doubt he'll come out of this program as the winner. That's not terrible, though, since him working with Orton at the very beginning of his main roster tenure helps him regardless. Big Show defeating Brodus Clay, good. You've done a good job building Brodus up as a monster, but he does nothing for me. I wouldn't be upset if this marked the end of his push. Whoa, was not expecting to see Chris Jericho defeat John Cena for the second consecutive Pay-Per-View. I would have thought that Cena would go over and Jericho would be on his way out. I am very interested in seeing where this goes from here, especially with the focus afterwards on Cena appearing vulnerable. Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio would have had a good match for the World Heavyweight Championship, but I'm glad that the former retained. Some Nexus love between Barrett and David Otunga, I see. Del Rio will be back at it, surely, but I kind of hope he doesn't defeat Barrett for the gold. Drew McIntyre defeating Ted DiBiase, eh. Kind of a questionable match to put on Pay-Per-View, really. I admire McIntyre's push, though. Lastly, a great Championship Scramble match with a surprise outcome of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan winning the match. Oh, sh*t. Round two, fight! The Sudden Death scenario sounded amazing and would have been a ton of fun to watch. Punk retaining was expected, but Bryan appears to be next in line for the championship. I'd certainly be welcoming of a heel Bryan championship run. Great Over the Limit, hope to see this stick around.

Raw Report May 21st, 2012 | Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia
| Headlines
- After surviving a grueling Scramble Match and Sudden Death 24 hours ago, the WWE Champion CM Punk came out to address the WWE Universe at the start of the show. He talked of the match last night saying that it was the toughest match that he’s had since he became Champion because of the unique stipulations. He was minutes away from Sheamus or Mark Henry or Dolph Ziggler walking away with his title. Punk brings up the fact that “clown shoes” himself, John Laurinaitis, actually made a good decision when he came out and forced himself and Daniel Bryan into Sudden Death. Before he can continue to talk about it, Daniel Bryan interrupts and gets right in Punk’s face. Bryan claims that he was robbed last night. In his opinion, he got the three count a split second after Punk and therefore should have been awarded the title and not even had to worry about Sudden Death. This back and forth brings out John Laurinaitis, who says that he wants to once again do things in the interest of “People Power”. With No Way Out coming up, CM Punk is in need of a number one contender. Tonight, in our main event the four challengers from last night’s Scramble Match will begin the Elimination Chase. The winner, after next week, would face Punk at No Way Out.
- According to commentary, the Elimination Chase will begin with a Fatal Four Way tonight. The man who is pinned is eliminated. Next week, Raw will open with a Triple Threat match and close with the singles match Finals.
- Throughout the show, it was promoted that John Cena would be there to address the Cenation about his actions last night. Recaps were shown during the program of Cena losing to Chris Jericho last night at Over the Limit for the second straight Pay-Per-View. After the match, he was stunned, which turned to rage. He angrily threw the steel steps as his frustrating 2012 continued. He finally appeared to close the show and was greeted with his usual mixed reaction. He got on the microphone and spoke in a somber tone. He said that this year has been frustrating for sure, but the most frustrating thing has been that he is letting the Cenation down. He bleeds hustle, loyalty and respect and he showed none of that last night. Chris Jericho has come back to destroy the thing he loves more than anything else, which is the WWE, and he has failed in stopping him twice. Couple that with the losses to Kane and The Rock this year and he has let himself and more importantly, the WWE Universe down. He starts to get hype, saying that he’s going to pick himself back up because that’s we he does. He wants to do so at No Way Out. He throws down the gauntlet and wants one more shot at Jericho, but this time, in an I Quit Match. He may be able to be held down for a three count here and there, but the one thing he will never do is quit. Chris Jericho answers swiftly, as the lights go out and his theme hits. As they come on and we see him atop the stage in his hoodie, Cena is already up there and taking it to Jericho. The two men brawl shortly before Cena launches him off the stage and through some tables. The crowd pops but this is definitely a different side of John Cena!

- The sage between Eve Torres and her former “boy toys” Kane and Zack Ryder continued. Ryder and Kane have an uneasy partnership and it was put to the test by the Assistant to the General Manager. She found them backstage, as Ryder was attempting to get Kane to wear a headband. Kane refused just as Eve walked up. She says that she doesn’t like them being friendly but if they want to team up, they can put themselves to the test tonight against two Champions, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre.
- Speaking of tag team wrestling, the WWE Tag Team Championships were up for grabs as the Prime Time Players took on their arch rivals, AirBoom. If you remember, AirBoom retained against them at WrestleMania but would succumb to the new team and drop the titles to them. In a big moment for Raw this year, AirBoom was able to recapture the straps! A Trouble in Paradise on Darren Young, followed by AirBourne was enough to crown new champions. The crowd popped for the change but a lot of people were rather surprised at this result as the Prime Time Players were just gaining momentum.
- John Laurinaitis, David Otunga, Eve, Wade Barrett and Drew McIntyre were all backstage and Laurinaitis gave them a speech. He wanted to thank them for their support and success. He focused on Eve, saying that she has been loyal and he wants to reward her. He puts her in a match tonight against Kelly Kelly, with possible future Divas Title implications. Eve thanks him for the chance.
- Last week, Zeb Colter debuted his Real Americans, Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro. They came to the ring and Zeb has a microphone. He told the unpatriotic fans that they have all seen Swagger do what he does best before and they know what he is capable of. The man is a former ECW and World Heavyweight Champion. Tonight is about showcasing what Cesaro can do. His match was against The Great Khali and boy did Cesaro impress. He is deceptively strong, as he doesn’t look like a powerhouse but was able to swing Khali around nearly ten times. He then lifted him to nail his finisher, the Neutralizer and got the win, impressing the entire WWE Universe.
- Eve Torres got her chance to step back into the ring, against someone she has both teamed with and faced numerous times, Kelly Kelly. This was a different bout than all of those previous matches because Eve was a much more vicious woman this time around. She pulled hair, scratched and was aggressive before winning with a moonsault. Before she could celebrate though, the Chickbusters came out to confront her. Unfortunately, since they were nursing the beating they took from Kharma last night, Eve was able to escape. Kaitlyn grabbed a microphone and challenged Eve to a match next week on Raw. Eve shook her head no and the camera picked up her saying that she makes the rules, not them.
- The World Heavyweight Champion and the United States Champion, Drew McIntyre and Wade Barrett, teamed up once again. Across from them was the unusual duo of Zack Ryder and Kane. Ryder was unable to get Kane to sport the headband, so that was a disappointment. The match itself was solid and Ryder and Kane showed of some surprising chemistry. Barrett was on the apron near the end, when Alberto Del Rio ran in from the crowd and pulled him off the apron. The crowd exploded for this as he and Del waged war through the crowd. The referee saw none of this, so the match continued. With no partner, McIntyre fell to a Chokeslam, but a blind tag allowed Ryder to gain some revenge on the man who took his US Title. Kane wasn’t happy about this, but Ryder celebrated like he was champion again.
- An advertisement aired for NXT this Wednesday night with the continuation of the NXT Championship Tournament. Another ad was shown for the huge Raw 1000 episode coming in July, which promises to feature some of the biggest names in wrestling and it will be a three hour spectacular!
- In the Elimination Chase, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, Dolph Ziggler and Sheamus all went toe to toe. WWE Champion CM Punk was shown watching from the back during the bout. All four guys got their stuff in and basically paired off in different groups for the duration. Sheamus and Henry would hit each other with hard stuff shots, while Bryan and Ziggler would showcase their incredible wrestling ability. It took a flurry to finish this as Mark Henry was hit with a Brogue Kick before stumbling into a Zig Zag. Bryan hit his diving headbutt and all three men pin to beat Henry. This means that next week, Raw will kick off with a Triple Threat match pitting Bryan, Ziggler and Sheamus against each other. The three men stare across the ring at each other, setting the stage for next week.

I like the idea of an Elimination Chase, even if it is a bit strange coming off of a scramble match. I hope that Daniel Bryan pulls it out and I'd be surprised if he didn't. John Cena challenging Chris Jericho to an 'I Quit' match? Interesting. I don't see how Cena would lose that. We'll see. Sort of surprised to see AirBoom win the tag team titles back, but I hope this is just the beginning of another team taking the titles away down the road. WE! THE PEOPLE! Screw you Khali, get swung by Cesaro and get beaten. Kane and Zack Ryder getting the win was good and I do like that, sort of bridging off what Kane and Bryan was. McIntyre being pinned wa the obvious call. Divas, Eve is a bitch. We get it. We'll see. Anyway, finally, moving on to the main event with Mark Henry being the first one eliminated. I am perfectly fine with that and I could see him costing Ziggler or Sheamus in the second part of the chase, setting up a feud on the side. Anyway, a solid episode of Raw and looking forward to more.
