What's everyone's thoughts on this show? I loved it. Recently finished the series and the last episodes/movie had my emotions torn. Glad they ended it when they did, there really was no where left to go.

I loved the series and glad they ended it too. All the good characters were gone pretty much. Loved T-Bag's character. Got them all on DVD.

The first season was one of the best I've ever seen, second was pretty good, then it went downhill after that.

Yeah, Season 1 is arguably the best single season of television I've ever seen. I would have actually been completely content with wondering if they ever got away once they were on the run from the prison. It was brilliant, it was intertwining and it really had tons of suspenseful moments and mystery. Season 2 was solid because you actually see them on the run and trying to make that transition from, now we're free, what do we do.
The big problem for me, and what killed it imo, was season 3. Everything about the Panama season was utter dogs*t and it turned so many people off the show. I get that they essentially told the story in the first two seasons, but I don't know how they came up with the atrociousness that was season 3.
I enjoyed Season 4. It was definitely a bounce back season and Sara was back and it has sort of a Fast Five feel to it where they are on the run for a purpose and playing sides, and we get more background but it was really the last thing they could do. The movie tied it all together and yeah it had that cliche sacrifice type of ending but I enjoyed the ride and everything with the mother story arc.
I just think that they were so brilliant right out of the gate, that they couldn't sustain it. They had this one insanely good story, and they didn't know where it was going after they told that story. The rest of the series was never as brilliant as that first season, or really anywhere close to it. They tried to brush back to that in season 4, and it was entertaining, but it never got back to that place for me personally.

I've never been on the edge of my seat more than I was with Prison Break, some of the best twists in any show ever.
It really went downhill toward the end; but even season 4 has some really, REALLY great moments. 4 really fleshed the characters out more; I'm glad it ended when it did; I'd put it in my top 10 favorite shows of all time actually.
I mentioned it in another thread recently, but when Kellerman shot Mahone and turned to help the brothers; I STILL remember LOSING IT; such a great twist!

*POSSIBLE SPOILERS*
I really enjoyed the show, but caught myself wondering towards the end why it seemed like every single character had been both his biggest ally and his biggest enemy at some point. People just could not stop switching sides hahah.

Season 1 was ungodly amazing. But it slowly went downhill after that. The prison they used for season one is literally only a couple of miles down the road from me. I still remember all the hoopla in the area when they were taping there. I just got a few friends to watch the first 2 episodes & they are hooked on it too. I never watched the DVD movie that leads up to the final scene. Anyone see it & think it's worth watching?
