I used to work at Kmart and hot wheels collectors used to go into the stockroom on their own and try to find new cases to go through TERRIBLE!!!

I've seen it in the past. Not in a long time though. It's stupid. If someone is willing to spend money then help them out...

The Kmart by me used to do a "collector day" basically letting hot wheels guys in at opening and giving them closed cases to open and go through. Only restriction was that they had to put whatever they didn't want in one of those open bins. Easiest way to put out stock.

Get the EF outa here. That's BS I'm sorry. If I'm late to a store, or I miss something, sorry, sux to be me. First come first serve. I would go nuts in a Target if I scanned an elite, it said they were in the stockroom and some kid worker would tell me " sorry I can't get it for u". WTF is that.

I tend to agree with this.... it's very bad customer service to refuse to check (especially when they have that handy scanner that tells people there ARE more in the back). Aren't the associates there to help customers? When products are not on the shelf - is it not their job to go in the back and bring out more? I'd be happier if they adopted a "2 per customer per variety" rule.... I might be able to get on board with that...

Just about to post what FlairForever mentioned. They've got a scanner that says product is in the back so there's no sense in them having another sign saying that employees can't get something. Odd policy. I've had great assistance from Target employees though. Can't think of any time where they weren't helpful if something was in the back. It definitely pays to be nice to them in asking though. ![:)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/smiley.gif)

Yes, it's company policy that if there is product on the floor, employees are not supposed to search the back.

Not saying they're all like this of course, but Hot Wheels collectors can be some of the worst human beings you will ever meet.I used to work in the toy isle of a department store. And I can say you are 100% correct!!! They would sit outside our store an hour before we opened just to have first dibs. Trash up the shelves I just finished stocking, and then were legitimately mad at ME for them not finding anything of value. Reminds me of the days I worked at KB toys. Those treasure hunts are something else.

I have seen that sign come and go for years. I have had the chance to ask an employee at my local target about it. It is company policy. With that said, this store doesn't use them unless the entitlement brigade shows up and starts spouting the ever popular "the customer's always right" mantra. Being polite, and asking respectfully for assistance goes way further than the usual "my money/you're here to serve me routine". Being polite managed to snag me a Rosa Mendes that was in the back. Sucks to be the jerks who can't figure this out.

I have never had a bad experience at Target. Walmart sucks. Always does for me. As far as employees helping me out that is. Target is the best for customer service. If the scanner says "in stock", i ask an employee, usually a young kid, for help. "Excusme me, the scanner says you have more in the back. Could you check for me?". The resp is ways YES YES YES. Sometimes they ask "Are you looking for someone inpaticular?" Or, "I'll bring whatever we have out and you can choose whatever you want" Sometimes its a fresh, unopened case that they open for me and let me pick through it. Never have a problem. Just got basic Aj like that.

The only time I ever seen it followed was when a customer was rude. He had trashed the Hot Wheels aisle and then he was rude to customers and an employee when he demanded they pull a case from the back. Not saying they're all like this of course, but Hot Wheels collectors can be some of the worst human beings you will ever meet. I've heard that from store employees haha!! I thought being a wrestling collector was rough.... We are nothing compared to hot wheels collectors!

Retailers are in no place these days to pass up a sale. Yeah they will eventually sell but don't put a bad taste in a consumer's mouth by refusing to go check. MAKE THE SALE!!! Otherwise people will remember that and just buy online. With Kmart and Sears closing stores, it's just not smart. Sure, a lot of people buy online because they look for better deals. But most of the time it's so they don't have to deal with bull crap.

Not a fan of rules like this.... Makes me feel like Target doesn't want my money.
I use to know the stock room manager at TRU, he would always be more than happy to tell us when trucks were coming in, pull stuff from the back, and even text us when he got what we were looking for. His reasoning was, us as collectors were loyally coming in and spending money at his store, leaving him good feedback. Why wouldn't you want to make money for your company, by him doing this for us, it just made that store my #1 go to spot, now because of Targets unwillingness to pull stuff from the back, I honestly either Dont even bother stopping in, or will make Target my last resort. I def don't even bothering scanning items to see if there are any in the back, because I know even if the shelves were bare & there was something in the back, they still wouldn't bring it out!
