Arent you a scalper anyway? It seems that way. He made a thread yesterday about the prime time players and if it was a good time to buy because he wanted a high resale value.

I'm typically not a rude person. I took an Elite figure near electronics at the lay away center?! Waited, the dude walks up with another worker (trainee) and ask me if I need help. I wouldn't have played the GM card if he hadn't gotten it, walked all the ways to the pegs, only to give me that speech.
I've never been a real assertive guy or confident, but all I was thinking about in the moment was...... What was going through that trainee's mind.
I also thought that if they are being discontinued at WM, why does this "rule" matter? Guy flat out said that they were lousy sellers.
Thought he was attempting to get some money for looking in the case?!
Even thought he was a collector, as well.
But at the end of it, I thought WOW. 40-ish and a WM employee who caves under pressure......... where did you go wrong in life.
As for those who think I'm a pain..... I'll going to take a wild guess and say you guys have trouble standing up for yourselves, toy department to not. You guys claim this hobby as a passion. I feel bad for those of you who would stand there and accept it.

I also thought that if they are being discontinued at WM, why does this "rule" matter? They're only discontinuing the line, not closing the store, so why change the 'rules' for 1 product?! No need to be a douche to the guy, just because you wanted 1 Giant.

Arent you a scalper anyway? It seems that way. He made a thread yesterday about the prime time players and if it was a good time to buy because he wanted a high resale value. Here's my deal with Prime Time Players. (1) They been out for awhile. (2) I have access to 10 or more in my area. (3)Logically speaking, anyone who has wanted those figures already has them. They are and have been peg warmers. When they been sitting as long as they have, it's fair game.(4) I'm only a scalper if you believe (a) buying large lots of used figures, cherry picking them (for my personal collection), then selling the rest (b) buying a case on RSC and selling my extras (mostly to bring online cost down to retail prices) (c) buying a peg warmer for resell (also, because it might count toward TRU Mankind Mail-Away and I get B1G40%). I've amass over 130 elites personally within a year. I'm quite proud of how I developed a system to cut cost on this hobby. I will say this though, while it is an amazing feeling to get a find you want. It's equally as good knowing that what I do puts smiles on others faces. Also, I mail figures to family in California, 100% FREE and let my children pick out a few figures. You want to wear labels...... You guys are trolls, wear it with pride! It's the last time I acknowledge you...

So he pulls the case out, shows you the case, and says sorry you're SOL. I guess you can't really relate, but a want is a want....

I work at a WalMart store and we are told by management and our inventory control team that 'if the full case won't go on the shelf, don't put it out". The only exception being if the peg that something hangs on or the facing that its given won't hold a full case when its empty. In situations like that we are allowed to break the case. There's a reason they are in the top 10 in worst customer service, and in worst places to work surveys, annually. I always hate hearing about WalMarts customer service being bad. I'm always very nice to my customers, even when they're not nice to me. I usually go out of my way to help try to find what they're looking for or more information about what they're looking for. But I know there are many many others out there that don't focus on customer service and give attitude toward the customers. And more recently the stores are trying to run with less workers and it causes the customers to be mad cause they can't find the help they need. And then when they do find one of us they are already mad, and thats never a good situation. But again, I know there are others out there that don't practice good customer service, but there's at least one WalMart employee that does.....unfortunately for the customers, I can only work at one store at a time lol. Well we as customers appreciate what you do. At least I do. Bad apples always ruin the good ones. I go into a store expecting a bad experience, if I request help. So I very rarely ask. That's why when I'm treated good, I always 100% of the time get that employee's name and make sure to tell the manager.

On top of the one guy being a horrible human saying WM hires "brain dead" people which I believe he's talking about the mentally handicapped people, which makes you look like a huge dick and the guy telling us we don't stand up for ourself in the TOY AISLE! I'm burnt out with this thread
God forbid we stand up for our RIGHTS in the toy aisle.

I am a retail store manager and I can tell you this I will always go out of my way to provide good customer service as long as its not breaking any rules but I hate the customers that think they can bully you around to get what they want and are so fast to threaten to call corporate. I personally I'm more likely to help you out and give you what you want if you treat me with respect.

I'm burnt out with this thread God forbid we stand up for our RIGHTS in the toy aisle. You don't, you criticize people who do. I bet you blame everyone and anyone when something doesn't go your way. I bet you try hard to fit in instead of being yourself. It's easy to conform, but being fake just so others will have a false opinion of you won't matter when your older. It doesn't have to be a toy. It didn't have to be for me. Collector or not, I'm a customer. I, like you, should be treated with respect. Let me give you some free advice, you will have many people in life that does respect you... I let fear of what other think dictate what you do. You will never be happy with yourself. Also, "brain dead" is slang used for drug abusers and shady people. Besides, I'm sure is wasn't many people's dream to work at WM.... Some do it and make it work, others do it to get their parents off their back, most do it because they gave up to early. I came here, looking for comfort from my peers. We are the most passionate for the hobby we claim to love. Showing no support for a brother, I'd hate to spend a day in most of your guys shoes. Repressing yourself and insagating others are early warning signs of depression. Doesn't mean you are, just that you're prone to it.... Likely because how you were raise and how you cope with it.

lol this thread reminds me also of how crazy some customers could be in a rretail environment. I used to be a manager for KB Toys back in the day and we had some really unreasonable customers sometimes mostly collectors and this is coming from a collector. we have one guy threatened to call corporate if we wouldn't let him see our shipping manifest, he literally demanded to see our shipping manifests and our back room. we'll just laughed and told him to call corporate.
I knew someone else in retail who was physically threatened by a customer. the customer demand an item and said if the employee didn't get it he was going to get slapped across the face. well the employee almost went berserk on the sales floor after hearing that. needless to say the customer didn't get what you wanted and employee didn't get slapped in the face

I'm not here playing who's is bigger with you. I know what I am. We're not in the trenches together. Don't calling us "brothers" like we're out there fighting a war on toys. Also some people work at Walmart stocking shelves as a job to support themselves and their family some probably part time as a second job. Don't discount what they do. I'm sure there are many people in the Walmart system with college degrees cashing/stocking or working on that. I am a sixth grade teacher in the City of Buffalo. I also work as a clerk at a local beer store four nights a week. I have a bachelors and a masters in Special Education. I'm sure there are a lot of people calling me a 26 year old loser and making accusations, much like you are, about why I'm working there when they have no clue in my background.

You seemed pretty rude based on your story. You immediately threatened to call corporate on him.
On a side note I heard something interesting at Toys R Us last week. An employee was stocking up WWE figures and the manager was casually talking to him. I overheard the manager say "You know it's the weirdest thing. These figures sell like crazy but we always have a ton of Sheamus left over." I was happy he noticed.

OP, I love how you've turned this thread into a psychiatrist's office. Hopefully this gets locked. Here's the deal. I wasn't aware that I was in the minority here. I don't know if the way I wrote the original post, sounds like I was in the wrong from the get go. I know I was there. We had a friendly conversation after he asked me if I needed help. Once he brought the case out, his attitude flipped. I am a respectful guy, kind, and polite. I adapted to the situation. I know we all agree on something and sometimes we don't. I will say that, even if they are just toys. The reason we collect them, much like comic collectors, is because they are a link to a happier time in our lives. It's not a bad thing to be passionate about it. I work, go to college, raise children, socialize, and collect wrestling figures. I pay my bills on time, provide wonderful memories, and truly believe you are entitled to what you want in life with hard work and focus, even if they are just toys.
