Played a badass in Dogma. The last twenty or so minutes after he loses his sh** he kicks ass. Oh wow, if you think Anything in Dogma was Badass, then we have polar opposite ideas of what Badass is.

Happen to like Dogma. It was outside the box. And him going on a rage bent killing spree and then mercy killing his best friend, kind of badass in my book. People have different opinions. That's how it works. I personally disliked Keaton as Wayne and Batman. Hell I preferer Kilmer. Many people may be pissed with this casting, even before giving it a chance. And they won't go see it in protest of the casting. But it will still be the first Batman/Superman live action film and it will still insane amounts of money and will still break records.

A lot of people seem to know how this is going to turn out before they've even shot a single scene of the movie. This is what's wrong with movies in 2013, and beyond. Everyone has a preconceived idea of what something is supposed to be. When it doesn't turn out exactly what you were thinking, people lose their sh*t. Same goes for people buying too much into critical opinion. The critics didn't like Kick-Ass 2 or Jim Carrey didn't get enough screen time so he wasn't behind it and people start calling for a Razzie. That movie was entertaining as . How about we all stfu and actually see the film and judge it for ourselves before we start dumping all over something. This is how the internet has made us stupid. People thought Daniel Craig was a horrible selection for James Bond, and then Casino Royale came along and told everyone to shove it up their ass. Affleck might very well suck as Batman, he might also be incredible. Until there is actually something to judge though, how's about we relax.

Ben Affleck is gonna kill it as Batman plain and simple. ANYONE who has seen The Town or Argo can't sit there and say he's a horrible choice because he's not. People keep saying that he's a horrible choice because of Daredevil... well, was that really his fault? I think not.

Im one of the people who dont like Affleck as Batman. Now though I'll wait to see a trailer before I decide if I want to go see the film or not in theaters. Im not a big Affleck fan to begin with. Mostly though im unhappy because them picking Affleck, a pretty big name, makes me think the script will be garbage. I hope im wrong.

This is the biggest split in the internet fanboys since..... well.... honestly I think this may be the biggest divide we've seen.
Some serious rage trolls out there losing their mind like they did with Ledger, only 10 times worse. Then you have the blind followers who get on board just because the trolls didn't.
Then there's the people like a bunch of us here on the board, who are using logic, and rationalizing it based on Afflecks' more recent work.
I can't wait to see the first shot of him in costume. This news has put Batman Vs Superman AHEAD of Avengers: AOU for me, by LEAPS AND BOUNDS now.
I've always looked up to Affleck, being an actor myself, hell, I even use stuff of his on my auditions all the time. I'm glad he turned his career around, and I can't wait to see how he pulls this off.

I have yet to see Man of Steel but I've heard nothing but good things and that it redeems the Superman character. So if true, I doubt Snyder or the studio would want to that up. We shall see. We have a good while.

Ben Affleck would make a good choice to play Batman only if they were going to make the movie in a 60's style. Like the Batman Adam West portrayed. If he's just going to woo women, and dance while wearing stockings then I'd say yes Affleck is a good choice. But in a world where Batman is a Badass Affleck is a HORRIBLE choice. Did anyone see Argo? Ben Affleck played the part of a tough, highly trained government agent/spy. When in Argo did Ben Affleck make you feel like he was tough? For one thing, there's nothing about Argo or the character that suggests that he's some tough guy. He was more a strategist than anything (a covert extraction specialist... not Rambo). For another, Argo is a drama, not an action movie. And watch him in The Town. He can handle the physical stuff.
I hope that this interpretation of Batman is even more faithful than the Nolan version... Bale's Batman was basically a boxer wearing armor. I think a stealthy ninja Batman would be great to see... and Affleck already has the physique to do a role like that. My biggest concerns with Batman vs. Superman are the writer (Goyer) and the director (Snyder). To me they have more to prove than Affleck.

But then I saw the trailer and they had Superman in Handcuffs. It was soo silly looking to me that the one scene alont made me not go see the movie in theaters.

Again I haven't seen it but I think that was just him humoring them. Kind of compiling with the police by to be seen as a bad guy.

I see a lot of people trashing Daredevil but I'll admit that I liked it. It wasn't the greatest movie of all time but it was enjoyable.

Thing people aren't taking into account is that it wasn't his fault the movie was trash. The script, the editing, and other notable casting decisions doomed that movie from the get go. I'll admit he wasn't the right fit for Matt Murdock, but he tried his damnest to make it work. Plus he was a big fan of the comics. For what the movie was, it wasnt that bad.

Let's just wait and see because its going to happen.

He was humoring them, he easily broke them off while in the interrogation room.

Killing Spree. Badass? Uh, yea. I'm with Wells on this one. Dogma was great and Affleck was the man. Now, Affleck as Batman? Guys.. Brace yourselves... I'm about to BREAK INTERNET RULES!!! ...I hope he does well, and I'm not going to sh*t on what he brings to the role before I even see it. I enjoyed Man Of Steel very much. Here's to an awesome sequel.

For all the haters, give Affleck a chance. He's an Oscar winner, for Christ sake.
He's also a MASSIVE Batman fan, so he'll do the character justice.
