I feel that Cena gave an extremely impressive performance at Summerslam this year. As a wrestler he was for the most part keeping up with D-Bry, which is no easy feat. And yet the fans would still boo him just because he's Cena.
All that aside, I was wondering here who is a fan of Cena?

Yup. Hated him until the Umaga feud really, and have gradually become more a fan of his the further I've got away from the silly "WWE sux, I hate the writers and Steph and HHH holds the cruisers down, indies are better" nonsense that I bought into as a kid. Been a huge fan of his since he posed with the haters at the WrestleMania where he beat Batista, and especially since he was annihilating The Rock on the mic during their feud. Looking forward to his big return, and hopefully to Daniel Bryan cementing himself at the top level too during JC's absence.

I used to be, when he first debut I was all behind him. I mean sure he was never the most technical of guys but he was entertaining. I respect the effort he puts in, but no, i'm not a fan and haven't been for some years. Ever since he did become superman and do his whole army soldier thing and try to get all serious, he's just been boring and bland. He still has a place in the WWE, however when he's in the spotlight I find myself beyond bored. I've not seen the point in recent years of having a guy be at the very top when at most, only half the fans are cheering for him.

I wouldn't call myself a fan of his, but I'm certainly not a doubter of his ability. Yeah, he can be sloppy in the ring, cheesy on the mic, and at times his whole routine just seems tired and old. But IMO when he's at his best, he's on a level that very few could ever reach. Plus without ever actually 'hating' him, he is by far my favorite ever guy to route against.

Yes I am a fan of him. I used to HATE him but over the past year he's grown on me and is in my top 10 favorite wrestlers going today,

I think if he was used more like Dreamer was in ECW, as a hard working everyman, and not Super Cena, I would like him more. At the most his title reins should be in single digits at most.
I do think though all the work he does outside the ring i.e. make a wish, is top notch.

I am extremely tired of John Cena as a character. I think he's over-protected, over-exposed, and extremely stale.
With that being said, I think John Cena is a guy that comes up huge in big match situations. He can go with the best of them, and at least one of my favorite matches of the year has involved him for the past several years. The argument that the guy is terrible in the ring is absolutely silly, and it has been for a long time. Cena can go, he's proven that unequivocally.
I'm also a big fan of Cena as a commodity in general within the WWE. He loves the business, he loves the fans, and he does absolutely everything he can to better WWE's image in the public eye. He's been nothing but a class act and I have a great deal of respect for him for that.

Yep. He consistently puts on MOTY candidates when the time calls for it, he is one of the greatest on the mic in many years, he clearly loves what he does, he has busted his ass for the company, he is great to his fans.
My main criticisms are the way he's booked sometimes, and the big problem he has with selling moves which he sometimes just seems to forget is a thing. I also wish he'd just change things up character/theme/attire/whatever-wise every so often as it just feels routine at this point.
I imagine he's a bit of a prick in real life as there's many stories of him turning his nose up at lower talent. Could be wrong there.
In terms if what he does though, he's absolutely fantastic.

Been one since I started watching wrestling. At the time, I only favored heels for some reason. The only babyfaces I liked were Cena, The Undertaker, and Rey Mysterio. When he returned at Survivor Series, my allegiance immediately shifted to all babyfaces until I learned the ins and outs of the business.
His character is in need of an added edge/possible heel turn. With that being said, there is nothing that separates him from guys like Randy Orton and Sheamus, who seem to be no different from him but get more support from the fans. He can go with way more people than haters think, he's capable of saying the same thing in his promos while changing up a certain aspect of it (something very few men can do), and he's the guy I admire more than anyone else in the world. To me, he gets a lot of unnecessary hate to the point that it makes me gag and he's probably the most underrated talent we have in the WWE.
And even though he's acknowledged this in the past, he invites the fans to boo him and they play into his hands. Like CM Punk once said, "This is the way you want it because this is the way you handle it."

I have an awkward view point on Cena, I enjoy a lot of his matches but hate his character/persona and how much he wins, overall he's gone stale in those ways but still does put on good matches consistently.

Lots of respect for Cena. He can obviously have a great match with guys, I just don't like how WWE books him most of the time. The superman, overcoming the odds crap.

I find him boring and predictable tbh, but I don't hate him. I respect him for the things he's done and honestly he looks like he's a great person but I'm not a fan of John Cena as a wrestler. I think his character needs some change to freshen up.

I have a lot of respect for John Cena for pretty much everything he has done for the WWE. He has an unquestionable work ethic, he's a hero and an inspiration to his fans all over the world, and Cena loves the business, period.
There are times where I find John Cena to be clunky and awkard in the ring, but Cena delivers in Big Time matches more often than not. Cena has given the likes of Batista, Lashley, and The Great Khali some of the best matches of their respective careers. Cena's matches with Punk from 2011 to today have been absolutely stellar. Plus, Cena does tend to do things that we aren't accustomed to seeing from him like monkey flips and hurricanranas in some rare ocassions.
The only complaints I have about Cena is the way that his matches are booked as well as his promos, though I can't fully blame Cena for that.

He's probably my favourite Superstar. Didn't really like rapper Cena in 03, but then in 05 was when I started to like him.
