I have been reading about "Big Book" recently on the forums. What is that? It's TRU's catalog of toys and deals that comes out around the Holidays. Every year around the Holidays, WWE has an exclusive item at TRU that you get for free if you purchase $30 of WWE merchandise at TRU. Or you can just buy the item straight up for whatever it costs. |

Wait, it's basic?  that noise. It's an elite figure. This is easily the best figure in my collection. He fits in nicely with Debut Kane & SS Undertaker (hopefully I can get Purple Undertaker soon) from that era. |

I just saw this post since I was out for Labor Day weekend with my family. The moderators deleted my original post because too many idiots on here were accusing me of stealing these figures. The story is true I work across the street from Mattel HQ, I walked into there store after work and saw these figures about to be stocked on the shelfs. I immediately knew what they were and new they weren't released yet. I bought them all except for 1 that a security guy wanted. I showed the receipt to RSC and the MODS, so I wouldn't get accused of stealing. I also found out on Friday that Mattel did check there employee store system and saw that the figures were in fact sold there.
I know somebody that works at Mattel and at RSC and no I'm not going to mention there name, we actually saw each other at a wrestling show this past weekend and spoke about this. Yes it's true Mattel is pissed off that it got released. But they both agreed everyone else would have done the same thing. Also I can't post the original receipt so the whole world can see, the manager of Mattel asked me not to do that since last week you guys have called the store asking about this figure all day. People say why not post how much the figure cost? Because that will just give people another reason to get more PISSED off at the fact that I have these and I'm selling these.
Yes I'm selling them on eBay, and I also sold some outside of eBay. It's simple economics SUPPLY AND DEMAND. I'm the only one who has it and the demand is high. It's the reason why we pay so much for gas and oil. At the end I regret posting the pictures on here, I posted it because I'm a collector too, yes I collect and buy to feed my collection Call me a scalper if you want that is fine, many of us on the classified section do the same thing. I was going to post loose pictures of the figure to show the details of it, but I've decided not too.
I do want to thank those members that believed me and defended me against those that didnt believe me. Soon Mattel will announce the giveaway and soon everyone will own this figure. Thank You!

Some people on this forum are so jealous and odd... You're telling me if Mattel were over the road from you and you could buy a case of an unreleased figures legitimately and sell them at a profit to fund either your collecting or just generally for making a bit of extra cash? Surely it'd be ridiculous not to... Besides the point you're making a profit, you're giving someone the opportunity to have a figure earlier than its release date.

The package I seen said only at toys rus like the 20-0 taker said , so hopefully it's a big book item cause im sick of spending 30$-50$ on figs just so I can get a mail away that ringside will have 3-6 months later (like coo HHH) and then they have it for a fraction of the mailaway price without buying whatever junk just to qualify for it .hopefully it's an in store item!

If you can make a significantly higher turn around from your figures than what you paid for them, then go for it. If he can sell a $15 figure for a hundred bucks, do it. It's people who sell a $20 for $30 that suck. It's not worth it and just makes "the hunt" even harder.
There is no "hunt" for these Mankind figures because they're not really out yet. Chances are, none of you live remotely close to that store and even if you do, you probably would have never even went there to see that they were selling them. If he bought one and posted online that they were available, then the next guy would have just bought all of them. Either way, these were ending up on eBay. So shut up and just wait for a mass release instead of losing your crap over a few figures being sold for profit.

Hey man, I say don't worry about it. People just hate cause you got a bunch of them and want to make the most of it. I guess you'd have a ton of friends on here if you offered to give them away, but that's not the way it works. I'm jealous that I wasn't in your shoes, but I'd be doing the same thing. I think my problem, and the problem a lot of other users had, was Bat4life's original post about the figures included something to the effect of "I'm selling these online to help people that can't get the figure" and that's just a huge load of crap. If you want to scalp a kid's toy at a ridiculous price, that's your prerogative, but don't act like Mother Theresa when you're doing it.
And selling toys at an 80%+ mark up is not "funding your collection," it's scalping. A scalper is a scalper is a scalper.

When does the 'Big Book' typical get released/ revealed? I remember buying the Undertaker from it last year from TRU the day of the Hell in a Cell PPV in October, and at that point I think the figures had already been out a week or two... so we can't be THAT far off from it.

Big Book & Mailaway are different things. Mankind is the mailaway (as COO HHH was last year) The Big Book figure we still don't know. Last year Undertaker popped up without ANY mention before hand. Someone just found the thing. Hoping for another surprise like that again this year. |

The guy clamied he bought them all to help people get them early. He is trying to defend the fact that he didn't scalp to the definition. I mean god its the same thing as walking "across the street" to a store and the owner sells you a bunch of tickets for a sports game, and you go and try to sell them for 80% more. That is what scalping is. I'm not saying he's wrong in doing it at all.. I'm saying he's wrong for trying to defend himself so badly. |
