I think my problem, and the problem a lot of other users had, was Bat4life's original post about the figures included something to the effect of "I'm selling these online to help people that can't get the figure" and that's just a huge load of crap. If you want to scalp a kid's toy at a ridiculous price, that's your prerogative, but don't act like Mother Theresa when you're doing it. And selling toys at an 80%+ mark up is not "funding your collection," it's scalping. A scalper is a scalper is a scalper. And what's your point? If you knew you could make a few hundred dollars on something easily, would you? Or are you too stupid to even try it? I think it's unfair press, the guy has done exactly what I'd have done, and many others would do, it's called business. People like you infuriate me. Good business has nothing to do with what's right. Absolutely nothing. I at least respect a scalper that admits he's a scalper and is willing to take advantage of people's judgement, but someone who sells toys at a ridiculous markup under the guise of wanting to help collectors is just being dishonest and stupid. I mean seriously, people are defending this guy? That's like going to a casino and rooting for the dealer at a blackjack table.

FWIW I actually underestimated how much he was marking up the figure... if he bought it for $10 and is selling for $100, that is a 900% ing mark up. I can't believe there are seriously people saying "IT'S CALLED BUSINESS, EVER HEARD OF IT LOL?" in defense of this butt-head.

I don't mind people picking up a figure at retail and making a $10-15 profit off of it. Clearly they're doing that to fund their collection. But buying a full case of one individual figure and marking it up so much is scalping.
Ringside Collectibles is a business. They buy directly from the manufacturer, have a warehouse full of merchandise, and actually employ people. A dude sprinting across the street to buy a toy that they can sell on eBay for a ton of money is scalping. Give me a break. This guy is a loser.

He hasn't said he's not selling them at a profit or to personally benefit from them, he's admitting that, he's just not describing himself as a scalper, whether he is or not, that's none of your guy's concern, he posted them on here, proved he got them legitimately and gets rubbish for it, I don't get why people get on his back about it, once he has 'signed the contract' as such and entered a binding contract to purchase the figures he has, he can do what the hell he likes with them whether he throws them in the bin, or sells them at a 800% mark up, either way thats HIS choice and not for you to criticize him, I'd do exactly the same thing as him. Do you think these people that buy them are in tears crying at home buying it? I think not, I think they appreciate the opportunity of owning a currently unreleased figure. It's tough if they are eventually released and owned by the masses.

But when he posted that angry rant on how we shoudlnt be calling him a scalper, that's what rubs me the wrong way.

Wait, it's basic? that noise. Nope it has Elite Articulation, it's just in a Basic figure package, just like Vince and Triple H, I imagine it has to do with the cost, The Mailaway figures have the same concept as the packaging as Basics except for the packaging is notably smaller in size compared to a standard Basic figures packaging.

The 2011 Mr McMahon figure and 2012 COO Triple H figure were mailaways. You had to buy X amount of WWE figures from Toys R Us (I think it was three for HHH, four for McMahon) and send the receipts plus $5 shipping to get the figure. Based on the packaging, Mankind is the same this year, but we haven't heard much info on it. So you have to pay 5 bucks for shipping? And thanks for answering! Appreciate it! Yes, you do unfortunately.

Im a scalper, there are you happy now. Im an ELite trader on the classified board along with many other members, if that makes us scalpers then fine. I didn't pay $10 for it, it cost more than that for those wondering. Nope won't say how much it cost me since it won't make any diffrence. Like many have said, if you walked into the store and saw these you would do the same thing.

I don't get why anyone would pay $100 for a figure, just to have it a few weeks early/before anyone else... what's the point? So that when the figure is released, they can say "yeah, well I got it before all you guys - and paid $80 more for it!!"? Great, lol Personally, the wait and anticipation for a figure is all part of the collecting experience... I look forward to the figures coming out and finding them in store. Why are some people in such a rush to get a figure a few weeks early?

Like are you guys seriously going back and forth about this? Who cares how much anyone is willing to pay for the figure? Why are YOU worried about someone else's money?
When I saw the figure on eBay for $99, I gladly payed it because that version of Mankind was my favorite growing up. And if you look at the economics of it all, if the figure is a mail-a-way and you have to buy 3-4 figures at $20-$25 a piece, $99 isn't that big of a deal. Some of you need to a get a grip. And to bat4life, thanks dude, I enjoy doing business with you. You're one of the few straight up and honest folks on this board.

I'm going to attempt to throw a little positivity into this thread by pointing out that the scan on this figure is incredible. It's easily the best masked Mankind likeness of any that have ever been made.
It beats the pants off of the E17 scan, that's for sure.

People have every right here in the US to call him whatever the hell they like. If you or he dont like that maybe you dont commit those actions.

It's a great looking figure for sure, but certainly not something I would spend $100 on. If it's the Big Book figure I'll get a couple then. If it's a mailaway I'll probably get 3 as there's easily 15 - 20 figures I I want to buy that would be eligible for it.
