That would be awesome. He would look better with a belt. Otherwise he would look like he was telaported from the past to accept the HOF plack in the nude. Strange. Besides, who would want to play HOF. Give us the belt!

I really like the HOF podium thing, its a unique accessory and I'm all for those. However in wrestling history, no accessory is more important, memorable and prestigious as a Championship Belt. I will 100% always prefer a figure to come with one of those than another random accessory.
Either way I'm quite happy we're getting a Mattel Bruno

How many of you asking for the belt even know what the WWWF title looks like? Or better yet how many of you even knew it used to be called ! Really? Wow. So why did they change from WWWF to WWE? Seems strange they'd knock off both a W and an F and add an E. I'd like to know more.

Belt or podium? "I'm hardcore, I'll take 'em both!"

Besides, who would want to play HOF. I'm gonna stick a Jakks laptop and a Raw GM printout on it.

Bruno Sammartino stood in front of that podium and accepted that plaque a total of one..... yes one..... time. Regardless of what he was wearing and how old he was at the time, that is fact. ONCE.
Bruno Sammartino held the WWWF title for a total of 4,040 days (over 11 years) and is the longest reigning WWE (WWWF) Champion in the history of the business.
Also, the argument that asks why anyone on this forum would want a title belt that they have never lived during is ridiculous, considering the fact that Bruno himself was at his peak in the 60s and 70s.... far before most of us were fans, let alone even born!
Think about it this way:
In 25 years, if some toy company was making a Legends figure of Stone Cold Steve Austin...... would you want him to come with a plaque and a podium or would you want him to come with a couple beer cans and the Smoking Skull belt?

For a MOC collector the belt makes more sense but for those that open like myself there is so many things that can be done with that podium.

The belt looked horrible. I wouldn't have interest. Honestly I dont see this figure doing well, possibly used for a lot of customs? IDK, it worked with Jakks because of the lower price tag.

Well, I have to wonder.... if "Mattel recently announced" something, how would we not have heard about it on here? What kind of Mattel "announcement" makes it by this board?
I think we're getting the podium....

But they changed the F to E because issues with "World Wildlife Fund" (WWF) While Bruno was no longer champion when I started watching the WWWF in the mid 70's the first match I remember watching was Chief Jay Strongbow & Billy White Wolf vs the Executoners (Kowalski & Studd). Bob Backlund was the WWWF champion then feuding with Superstar Billy Graham. And I think Perdo was the IC champion feuding with the Magnificent Muraco. (although that feud might have been closer to the 80's) That's why if you ever go and look back at my top list of wants in both the CS and Legends lines all 8 of them were on my lists.

Who the hell wants a ing podium that bad? It's a lame accessory. The belt would be 1000x better. Roadie Codes nailed it on the head.

Second time today I've had to clarify that I wasn't serious. I was messing around because he seemed to act all high and mighty that he knew the WWE used to be called something else.

Lol. Ok you got me on the WWE part but I mainly quoted that post because it had Rybacks question of does anyone know why it was called the I felt it was easier to just kill the two birds with one stone (so to speak) then to try and find his post. lol

I was going to buy Bruno for the podium and sell him on eBay, so I hope this isn't true.

Personally I would love to get the old WWWF title. That would open up the possibilities of getting other old belts as well. I did like the podium but since its already been made they can give that to anybody that is a hall of famer in future runs. Personally I would love if they came out with a belt pack or packs and accessories packs but i doubt that will ever happen

And Mattel knows this. Putting a belt from the 50s/60s in a 2010s childrens action figure line I'm just speechless at some of you. And your reasonings are even more laughable. "Oh he never accepted the HOF in his trunks at age 30. So he should come with the belt not the podium" good god. Get this through your head- The HOF Plaque and Podium are 1million times more recognizable than the WWWF Title!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We still are yet to see A LOT of much more sought after belts, and people really think we will get one as obcure as that one smh. Crusierweight, WWECW, full set of classic tag belts & raw/sd tag belts released in actual elite lines, endless WCW and ECW belts. And by the way. Since when did accessories always have to match figures all technically? I see people bitching about the Bellas coming with a divas title too. Your right they should come with a barbed wire bat. By this logic HHH shouldn't of come with the megaphone and helmet. E23 Taker shouldn't come with the mask. Because they didn't wear those at mania. I cannot believe that Mattel is giving us such a cool and unexpected accessory, and that people have the nerve to downtalk it?! And demand an obcure, unregonizable, 50 year old belt? No wonder why MDT stopped coming around here..

The accessories they gave Triple H are crap. I said that as soon as they showed them. They say it's a WM theme then give him stuff he didn't have at WM yet everyone else in the set got appropriate accessories. Undertaker had the mask in in the WMXII Promo poster. If I was a MOC collector that would have ruined the figure for me. Not to mention the fact that they put the X on the back of the helmet. I have 2 HHH and it's on the back of the helmet on both. (If you look at a real helmet the higher/fuller part is the back)
I gave the DX shirts to my make shift NAO and the helmets are going to my Aliens Marines. The megaphones I tossed. But they were all useless for a WM15 Triple H. I would have rather they gave him the tshirt he wore at WM15 and nothing else.
As for Bruno as I said in an earlier post in this thread it doesn't matter because Mattel's not changing it. Other than running changes for things like Cody's pads or Christian's glasses they have NEVER changed any other figure after they showed the proto. So it will be the crappy podium and plaque. Both of which I will probably toss once I get him, because I have zero use for them in my display. At least Bruno could wear the title on my shelves.
As far as accessories go if they aren't entrance attires, titles or wrestler specific accessories (HHH sledge, water bottle, Hacksaw's 2x4, Sarge's whistle, etc) I have no need for them. Any accessories like tables, ladders, chairs or trash cans Jakks or Mattel have given us I've tossed because it is just clutter to me.

Your argument that putting a "belt from the 50s/60s in a 2010s children's action figure line" doesn't make any sense since no kid is going to buy Bruno anyhow since he's not intended for that demographic. The reason we aren't getting some of the older belts is licensing issues since they don't own some of the old designs. I'm not sure of the status of the old WWWF title, but that might explain why they chose the HOF stuff. Now, some people MAY be interested in Bruno just for the podium and plaque, and those are good accessories to give him, and I agree with you that not all accessories have to match the era if they fit, but Bruno with the old WWWF title he's synonymous with in photographs would also be a good accessory. It's not some out of left field thing like you're spinning it as. People can want both or either.

But yeah I don't agree with you as far as kids not buying Bruno goes. I feel the WWE did a pretty good job at getting his name out there earlier this year and letting everyone know just who he is. His HOF induction was bigger than most people realize and this is just more reasoning I feel the plaque and podium are perfect choices. In TODAYS fanbases mind, the HOF accessories are way more recognizable and significant than the wwwf title. I may seem crass the way I put it before but its the truth.
