After the goalkeeper debate on the the transfer thread was wondering what's everyone's current Premier League XI.
Mines is (4-3-3 formation)
GK- Hugo Lloris, good shot stopper and reads the game well.
RB- Pablo Zabaleta, consistent player for City.
CB- Vincent Kompany, Vital to City. They don't defend half as well without him.
CB- Daniel Agger, Between him and Vertonghen for left sided centre back so being biased I chose Agger.
LB- Ashley Cole, been consistently one of the best left backs in the world for years.
DM- Michael Carrick, couldn't think of anyone else really.
CM- Yaya Toure, Important in defence and attack.
CM- Steven Gerrard, Not leaving Gerrard out my team.
RW- Luis Suarez, would like him upfront but Suarez on wing with RVP upfront more effective than other way around.
LW- Jaun Mata, very good consistent player.
ST- RVP, Best finisher in the league.
Subs
GK- David De Gea, Improved a lot since his early critisism.
CB- Nemanja Vidic, not as good as he was but still good enough for the bench.
RB- Glen Johnson, only in as he can play both right and left back.
CM- Santi Cazorla, versitile and top quality.
CM- Lucas Leiva, Couldn't think of anyone else apart from Carrick.
RW- Eden Hazard, Has pace and a goal threat.
ST- Wayne Rooney, Hard worker and top player.
So in the whole squad, 5 Liverpool players, 5 Utd players, 3 City players, 3 Chelsea players, 1 Arsenal and 1 Spurs.
Tried hard not to biased. Originally had Sturridge instead of Rooney due to his current form and was debating having Lucas instead of Carrick but tbh Carrick, despite me thinking he is a bit overrated (he's solid but not world class), is the best of a small pool of defensive midfielders. Or is there more and my mind has just went blank?
