I see you changed the title. Again, I'm going to have to say that no, they are not overhyped. Like I mentioned before, they revolutionized the music industry and had a huge impact on it and future artists.
How you feel about the Beatles is probably how I feel about Elvis. I don't care for him or his music, but I cannot deny the fact that he also revolutionized the music industry and I respect him for that. You don't have like these artists or their music, but at least give credit where credit is due.

I think the beatles are overhyped/over rated.
I've heard them on the radio a few times and didnt think much of them.
I dont understand why people think so highly of them.
To be fair and honest though, I strongly dislike anyone that is so overhyped by the media. I can not stand Angelina Jolie for this reason. They talk about them on the media, you see them in magazines, to the point where I feel it's being shoved down my throat. Like Jolie, so too have the beatles been pushed on me.
AND also I cant stand anything british. Here in USA we have this thing where the media picks and chooses which countrys we should root for. For years they have made music all over the world. There are governments all over the world as well, but for some reason the media only really talks about England. I dont care for their accents, I dont care to see their queen/princes on tv/magazines, I just dont like them. There is SERIOUS news all over the world, yet when im in the check out lane at target Magazines have pictures of some old lady queen.

im a huge fan. when i was younger i didnt like them (Parents played them alot)
as i got older i started to really listen to them and enjoy everything about them. but they are not for everyone.

I actually understand what he's trying to say, that is if he's not trolling. If the Backstreet Boys or *NSYNC were at their peak in the 1960's, they would be considered timeless too. That's not a knock on The Beatles at all, because they had the talent to stay in their position. It just has to do with the timing a little bit. |

In my opinion all bands are over hyped. For me the Beatles are a bit above okay in my book and I will in no way overlook what they did for music. It just all depends on your taste in music.

Yes. I only find some of the stuff on their last few albums to be interesting...Revolution 9, It's All Too Much, I Want You (She's So Heavy), etc.

i don't think the beatles are overhyped in the least bit. they made pop classics that anyone can enjoy, and that's what makes them different and deserving of their praise. if someone listens to their entire discography and doesn't like a single song, then they're probably not human. the beatles did it first, and the beatles did it best.

I'm a Beatles fan and I come from a family of huge Beatles fans. Personally, I think John Lennon is overrated and I do prefer Elvis. You can't deny their legacy but I'm sure it was just one of those in-the-right-place-at-the-right-time sort of deal. But then again, isn't that what destiny is?
