You seriously dont see where it says "boys action category"...thats not RC & robots...action category is action figures. Spin Masters made 6" action figures years ago so its not out of the realm they would make them again. As I said, I doubt they get the master license but Im not gonna be surprised if some "cheap" DC toys dont come from Spin masters PJ do you know if Mattel makes those 4" DC figures that pop up at Big Lots & Walgreens or is it another company? If you are talking about these...yes they are Mattel. These are their newest ones where they added t-crotch hips to them. As for Spin Masters yes it says action toys also, but it doesn’t say anything about them acquiring the master license. So hopefully that means Mattel will still have that. With respect, it doesnt say action toys, it says action category, which is where rc, robots etc fall Much like Fisher price, with Imaginext, they could and would never make action figures as we know them

Literally someone that works at/for Mattel They have no idea what theyre talking about I order from the boys action category and it 100% does NOT mean action figures, action figures is in that category, BIG difference And again, had you looked, youd have seen Tracy Tubera is a freelance illustrator, and does not work for Mattel lol SpinMaster, as stated, will be making rc, robots, water toys and puzzles, its VERY clear in the article

I could be wrong as it’s been 38 years since I had an English class but this is the paragraph from that article...
“Beginning Spring 2020, Spin Master will be a new toy licensee for DC in the boy's action category, remote control and robotic vehicles, water toys and games and puzzles. “
There’s a comma after boy’s action category so I am interpreting that as something separate from the RC & Robotic vehicles. Then water toys and games and puzzles are three other items. So in any case I am taking “boys action categories” to mean figures, unarticulated figurines & role play toys. But whatever it means I just hope we have some great mass retail Batman figures in 2020 regardless which companies are making them.

Jesus....but you're not wrong, hence why i spelled out comma in my original post then went into further detail saying that it might not necessarily mean the master license but still figures could be getting made....brick walls are brick walls though.

Well, 33 years I graduated high school in 1985. They say the mind is the second thing to go, but I forget the first! Plus I am overly tired and loaded with all kinds of cold medicine for the last three days. lol

Literally someone that works at/for Mattel The reason why I give the idea of Mattel being out some credibility. In the same instagram post Randy from Neca says the following: We'll see by Toy Fair, but I would think Randy has a good idea of what's up.

Yep, Jason (JNL) is a toy designer for Mattel and when he said "spoilers" that was what I was referring to in my previous post about someone from Mattel essentially confirming the license was ending. Again, contracts can always be renewed...we have over a year and there's nothing that's been said about the master license. If Im not mistaken Mattel acquired the DC license in a similar way. I believe they had the rights to make Batman & Superman but another company had the rights to all over DC characters....Ive slept a lot since then

Well, then hopefully Neca can finally release that Batman vs Aliens set. or was it a Predator? It was Batman vs Predator and Superman vs Aliens. Mattel's financial woes have been well documented, so it is not completely farfetched that they can be outbid for the DC master license.

So I just read an article about DC leaving Mattel for Spin Masters in the spring of 2020. That should be really interesting to see what they bring to the table. I remember the Spin Masters company but couldn't remember off-hand what figures they've produced.

The article said they got a DC license for three years, but it didn’t say they got the DC master license. Mattel might still have the master license and Spin Master may just have the rights to certain scaled toys. Just like Jakks can make the 20” DC Big Figs or Figures Inc can make the Mego like DC figures.

From what I read Bloomberg was reporting that they lost the master license and that Mattel will only hold portions of the rights for the preschool line and girls line with things like DC Super Hero Girls. Apparently Mattel will lose the rights to the action figure lines like the Multiverse figures which Spin Masters is supposed to take over. Coming from what they reported on the Batman News.com article if what they reported is accurate anyhow.

SpinMaster got a license to produce rc toys, robots, water toys and puzzles, its in the article on the previous page, nothing to do with action figures, spinmaster do Hatchimals and paw patrol, no way they would get a license to make DC figures

Mattel losing DC license would be the best thing to happen to DC....multiverse figures suck ass I might actually begin purchasing Batman figures again... Someone has to quit f'ing around and give us some Batman 1989 and Batman returns figures with accurate likenesses of Keaton, Nicholson, Devito, Pfieffer
