In general, the Evil Dead 2 Ash is pretty underwhelming. Especially when you compare it to the stellar Ash vs The Evil Dead effort. The paint app on it is very glossy and cartoonish. On top of that, the exposed teeth on mine look like a solid white mouth guard.

Kinda surprised you guys don't like the ED2 Ash. I guess I do understand the complaints though. When I crack mine open, I may see if the chainsaw from the Ash vs ED can fit on it. It looks like it will work but my wife is making me wait until Christmas.

I'm pretty sure the chainsaw won't fit without some sort of modification. I displayed my ED2 Ash with just his shotgun and stored all the extra accessories away, so maybe his extra arms can make swapping more easy. Just glancing at them though, it'd seem like the only way to do it would be swap the figures arms at the elbow.
The ED2 Ash is mainly a good figure, but I feel the head is greatly inferior to most NECA efforts. It almost looks like the figure is from an entirely different toy line when it's displayed with the AvED versions.

Interesting point. I kind of thought the head sculpt was a little different but I guess I'm really not used to that kind of expression from Neca. I can't wait to open that ing figure now to see if I can figure out a way get that damn chainsaw to work.

Yeah I really don't know where they went wrong on the head. They've shown they can do great jobs on youthful renditions of older actors (Stallone, Arnold, the whole Aliens line), but this one is just oddly out of place. A rare swing and miss by the NECA crew.
I'll take a look at my figures when I get a chance and see if there's an easy way to get your swap to work.

TeamFnKick That Freddy looks the same as the 7" scale.... Great packaging though! Always enjoy seeing the Neca thread updated with gets as Neca is my favorite toy company!

Behold, the jolliest assh*le this side of the nut house. I'm not a fan of the soft goods to be honest, dress shirts always look like garbage, but having a Clark W. Griswold in my collection is pretty amazing.

NECA's Ultimate Kratos is one of the greatest figures I have ever seen. It's an absolute marvel to look at. Absolute perfection.

I picked up Harley tonight, as my TRU restocked her; saw that Bale for the first time. That face is absolutely laughable, don't think I've ever seen a NECA figure that ridiculous looking

I feel like Bale Bats would be better if the eyes were painted differently. Idk because I don't have the figure in hand. Also, IDGAF how bad the head looks. I'm getting him as soon as I see him at TRU. NECA has been stepping up their game lately. Bound to have what people consider a misfire every once in a while.

I don't think the head is really that bad. It's certainly a botch but it's not as bad as people have made it out. The lower portion of the face is phenomenal and reminds me perfectly of Bale.

My only issue with NECA is they use a lot of flimsy ass parts. Especially on the accessories. I was really excited to receive the retro TCM 2 Leatherface today. But the handle on the chainsaw broke when I was trying to put it in his hand. Really cheaply made.

Oddly enough, I got my brother that same TCM Leatherface for Christmas, and he had the same issue when setting the figure up.
I've learned to take every precaution possible when it comes to these figures. I've only had 1 actual part break on me, and thankfully it was easily fixed. Other than that, I'd say my only ongoing complaint with NECA is that they're often unable to do more thorough runs with particular lines. Obviously this isn't their fault if certain actors/companies don't want to play ball, but it still sucks. As cool as they may be, I'm tired of seeing a bunch of random Predator/Alien monsters being released regularly when we probably won't ever see Blain, Mac, Dillon, Poncho, a proper Kane, plain clothes Dallas, etc.
Also it's getting pretty annoying with them dragging their feet on giving worthwhile figures the "Ultimate" treatment. We're getting another T-800 sometime soon with the shotgun/box of roses accessory, yet they haven't updated Kyle Reese from the "statue" format. I'm hoping with them re-releasing Hicks/Hudson, we'll see them do Reese within the year.

I live in a...(how can I put this without stepping on any toes?)...GOD-AWFUL, BIBLE-THUMPING, UBER-CONSERVATIVE, and LESS-ENLIGHTENED part of the United States.
I never saw Breaking Bad figures at retail. Never saw SoA figures. I get those are made by different companies...Also, I'll never see that fan-freakin-tastic NECA 7 inch Captain Spaulding they released months back. So, I take what I can get when I see NECA product out in the wild.
That's why my opinion leans to a more biased positive opinion because of the rare off chance that something good gets put on the shelves here.
But I can see where people have the opinion that NECA is hit or miss in terms of durability. But I've been in love with that company for like 15 years and that opinion won't change anytime soon.
