Hey guys,
I didn't see any thread about the newest installment of TUF, so I thought I'd go ahead and make one. I for one, am really enjoying this season so far, just because I cannot stand Ronda Rousey. She had said on the first episode that she's going to retire undefeated and all this nonsense and it just fuels my hate for her.
Sure, she's a tremendous fighter, but on the show, she just comes off as a straight-up rotten c*nt and I cannot wait until she gets smashed. Just the way she acts on the show, kicking the door and acting like her sh*t don't stink and bossing everyone around, just bugs me. She comes off as a bully and I hate bullies.
I just finished watching the 2nd episode where Rousey's pick Shayna Baszler got tapped out in the 2nd round by Tate's pick Julianna Pena and I couldn't have been happier.
Rousey got all upset and started crying because her pick lost and I loved it. She was upset because Meisha was smiling and happy that her pick won. Rousey said something like she's going to pay with every smile or some bullsh*t like that. Just like the song Rousey, You can't always get what you want and she just found that out first hand.
I hope Team Tate continues on winning because it'll continue pissing Ronda Rousey off and seeing her mad makes me happy. Lol. I'm biased. I can't help it. I just don't like Ronda Rousey and the ONLY way she will remain undefeated is if she never fights Cyborg, but I have to hope in the meantime Meisha Tate beats her in their 2nd outing on Dec. 28th. I cannot wait for that fight to go down.
What is everyone's thoughts on this season of TUF so far??

Haven't watched it. Most people I've heard say that it's actually pretty bad.

Haven't watched it. Most people I've heard say that it's actually pretty bad. Really? I actually think it's been one of the best starts to a TUF series in a long time. Rousey is SO fired-up - and dislikes Tate so much - it makes for great viewing... looking forward to seeing the rest of the season.

I'm liking it so far. Not sure if it's just for TV, but Rousey comes off as a real douchebag. I'm finding it really hard to cheer for her or any of her fighters. And I'm also glad Bazler got tapped out. Someone should tell her that she ain't entitled to anything until she actually wins it. May losing to a youngster will teach her some humility.

And I'm also glad Bazler got tapped out.. ...I know what you and Old School mean - she's definitely going to divide fans. I kind of like it though - I just think she comes across as really intense/competitive and tends to wear her heart on her sleeve (rather than being "douchey"). Having a go at Tate for smiling and being pleased her fighter won was a bit much though... how did she expect Tate to react?

I'm actually really enjoying this season. Mainly because my girlfriend doesn't usually get into UFC too much, but now that there is women involved in this season, she is REALLY into it. We made it a point to watch it together every Wednesday night and she actually yells at me if I watch it without her, lol.
But I agree with OP. I really liked Ronda Rousey before this season started. I thought she was a gamer and changed the entire face of women's MMA and let's face it, without her, Dana would have never looked twice at women's MMA and probably would have never allowed it in the UFC. But with that aside, this season of the UFC is reallllllly making her look like a total B!tch. I've never really been a fan of Meisha Tate, but I am totally routing for her now just to see Ronda humbled in defeat. It has really made me think twice about Tate also. She seems to genuinely care about her fighters and really want to see them succeed which is awesome. Ronda on the other hand, seems to just be using her role as a coach to enforce her own "awesomeness". Not cool.
So all-in-all it's shaping up to be a real good season. Right now my favorites to win it all is Women: Raquel Pennington and Men: Cody Bollinger

I watch it and I like it. Unlike the OP I like Rousey, but I also like Miesha Tate too. They're both hot. I love a girl who is hot and can fight:)

So I actually gave an episode a try and it was atrocious. Like I know there's women on the show, but the over-dramatic sh*t with Roxanne and Baszler was too much.
The crying was WAY overboard. Take your loss and WALK AWAY.

Eh, they're women on a reality show. Of course things are going to be portrayed in a more emotional sense when it comes to them. I have no problem with that because the fights have been pretty good so far.
This episode with Ronda's mom is the first time that she isn't coming off as a complete douchebag.
...aaaanndd the next scene she's right back in there. I don't know if it's that reality show formula that there must be a good and bad guy that's creating this image or what. But man, I tell ya. She comes off as a sore loser, someone who can't take a joke, and just a chore to deal with.

I remember before the series Ronda said everyone would hate Tate, but it's been the opposite for the couple episodes I've watched thus far.

Is Ronda trying to get people to hate her? Flipping off Miesha after she tries to shake her hand and congratulate her? Really? Ronda lived her whole life competing in combat. You would think she would know the meaning of sportsmanship by now.

TUF only works if the coaches hate eachother and one is mean.

Turns out he was an a**hole in real life. Look at the number of guys though that play to the crowd trying to rile them up. Look at what promos have done for Chael Sonnen. Do you think he'd have had the opportunities at titles and main events he's had if he wasn't able to draw due to promos?

Chael was a different story though. He never came off as a dick or douchebag. Which is exactly what Koscheck did and what Ronda is currently doing. Chael was great at building up fights and cutting promos but Ronda and Kos never did that. All they're doing is making themselves come across as bungholes. Ronda is probably losing a ton of fans and a ton of respect because of the way she is portraying herself on the show.

I didn't mean Sonnen on the show though. I meant in general. Also Brock Lesnar played the heel at first and look how much ppv buys he got. People will watch just to see the one they don't like hoping they get their butt kicked. Rampage came off as a jerk on the show but he still is massively popular and doesn't seem like a jerk elsewhere.

Hardly a great message to send out to the guys/girls you're coaching. Having said that though, I am loving the bad-blood and rivalry between the two... it makes TUF (and their fight) a whole lot more interesting!

"Ronda Rousey saw my weight cut penis" may be the greatest line ever muttered on TV, had me laughing lol...

Seems as though Rousey is beginning to believe in her own hype, and lol at her drama-queen reactions to team Tate's playing pranks - which has always been a staple of TUF. Dana's no better, with his attempts to remove anything that might upset poor llittle Ronda, from the gym. I'm hoping Tate beats the crapout of her. Tate's way better looking than Rousey, too... needed to see more footage of her at that pool party, tbh.
