Why does Vince always seem to have wrestlers job in their hometown? I knew Miz was in for a loss but he got a pretty severe beatdown. It doesn't happen all the time, but it does most of the time. It just feels likes it's him being mean-spirited and a bully. Or am I missing something?

One good reason is because they know the crowd will react, which is what they obviously want.

To make Orton look heartless, attacking him in front of his parents.
Didn't work though, Miz dad totally no-sold.

When I saw Miz with his parents something just didn't match up. Miz is a pretty normal looking guy and his parents looked so odd. Especially the dad.

Miz's mom looks just like him. Really??
My wife was pumped for Miz to come out, because we are from the Cleveland area. He was really excited and got an awesome pop. Then he got his ass kicked. It was obviously to move Orton along as a ruthless heel. At Raw in C-town last March, I was there and I believe Miz actually won his match.

Made perfect sense right now. The Miz has been struggling to get over as a face, but they knew he'd get a positive reaction in Cleveland. Orton has, for the most part, been struggling to fully shine as a heel. He's at that stage in his career where a lot of people cheer him regardless. His attack was greeted with an outpouring of support for The Miz, and Orton's loudest reaction as a heel since he turned. Win-win. It was smart booking.
Occasionally, WWE can use a situation/location to influence future audiences. They took full advantage of being in Cleveland and used it to cement both guys in their respective positions. Orton is now as unlikeable as ever, and The Miz should have the crowd's sympathy and respect.

They should have Raw in Ohio every week.
Loved watching The Miz get destroyed.

It's happened for years & years, to get more heat on the heel. No better example of that then when JR was in Oklahoma. He was always getting destroyed.

Well, they're in Ambrose town tonight. Doubt he'll get burried.

They are wrestling. I personally don't think its a bad thing. It builds heat and it makes you that much more over!

Made Orton look more of a heel. I liked it. Absolutely. The crowd got behind The Miz (finally) and now he can rest up and comeback fresh. Maybe in time for the Rumble similar to Sheamus and Cena. Mike's been in limbo for ages now and for someone whos got alot of potential I think this will on help him. As for Orton, he comes off as a total badass. Orton needed a kick up the ass after that clean loss to Bryan. I just hope Orton keeps up this new ruthless aggression. It suits his style more. I like him too

He atucally didn't 'job' imo. I think he looked great because even with a huge beatdown he still showed heart and was trying to fight back and the crowd was behind him and I think when he's back he'll be much more over.
