Just curious on people's opinions since there are so many great fighters to choose from. I would venture to say Minotauro for myself but I'm looking forward to your input on this. Discuss...

Fedor Emelianenko. the haters. Hard to argue very impressive in his prime for sure I vote Fedor myself, but an argument can be made that 2 prime years of his career were wasted fighting guys like Zuluzinho, a rematch against old man Coleman, Hong Man Choi and Matt Lindland.

I consider Silva, simply for the way he finishes fights (when he does finish them, that is)
With simple ease, grace, and almost without effort.
The only finish that wasn't this way, was the Sonnen fight. And frankly, at this point, if you still doesn't believe that Silva had a buised then broken rib, there's a good chance your name is Chael P. Sonnen.

Mmm - it's so hard to pick just one guy... there are so many variables and "what ifs". But I'll go with with: PRIDE/Japanese rules - Fedor UFC/Unified rules - Anderson (...how's that for a cop-out ) Fedor was great at beating fighters at their own game/strengths - and you wouldn't catch him dicking about like Anderson has been prone to do. But Anderson was the flashier and could (can) do things almost no other fighter on the planet can do. I would throw Jon Jones into the mix too... I know it's still fairly early in his career but if he keeps on the way he has been, he could end up overtaking both of them - the guy seems on another level.

Interesting but he was just a devastating fighter to be honest. Seeing him dole out punishment to someone like Minotauro in the Pride days is a sight to watch. Unreal power

It's definitely down to Anderson (yuck) and Fedor. I'd probably have to say Silva, simply because a lot of people think Fedor had an easier level of competition in his prime, and was very lackluster by the time he came into Strike force. If we are talking personally for me, I'd take Liddell all day long..

One reason I pick Fedor over Anderson Silva-GOATs do not clown around in the middle of a fight and get themselves knocked out.

What do you guys think about GSP being on the list?

What do you guys think about GSP being on the list? ...it's a tough one when it comes to GSP - I mean, if we're going by the way he controls fights and never (or hardly ever) gets into trouble, then he could easily be voted the GOAT. There's just something about his fighting style though... he's kind of like the Floyd Mayweather of MMA - a huge draw and great athlete, but nearly all his fights are actually fairly dull/uneventful decisions.

One reason I pick Fedor over Anderson Silva-GOATs do not clown around in the middle of a fight and get themselves knocked out. I love how one fight against a top 5-er disqualifies him from being GOAT status. It's not, nor will it ever be the conventional way of fighting. No one will ever teach that. But it's apart of Anderson's game. It's the way he fights. I fully understand why people call it clowning around, and I would to if it weren't effective. That's no different from the way the Diaz bros taunt their opponents. It's no different from the way Roy Jones Jr. used to fight. Take a look at Anderson's catalogue of fights and look at the level of competition he faced, and for the most part, finished. That right there should put him at the very least near the top of anyone's list who has a brain. Getting KO'd by Chris Weidman changes that? As far as being No. 1 GOAT, of course that's debatable. But for Anderson not to make EVERYONE'S top five is just bias.

Clearly, it's between Anderson and Fedor.

Silva would be my pick, in spite of his last fight.
No doubt he'll redeem himself this December.

Don't think we'll see the same Silva come fight night.

Easily Anderson Silva with out a shadow of a doubt, one loss does not change that, plus that loss is hard to put in to perspective (in my opinion) until I see a second fight between him and Weidman. The only other guy I truly think you can make the argument for being the greatest in Fedor, however I strongly disagree with that statement, infact I put Cain Velasquez above Fedor.
What Anderson has accomplish well exceeds that of simple stats, but amazing feats that made him look like he was straight out the matrix, something Fedor, Jones or anyone like that has been able to accomplish.
Anderson Silva as much I dislike the guy, is the GOAT.

I can see GSP been considered the greatest of all time. I don't see his career ending like Fedors has.

Tough to say many variables....
GSP, Fedor, Silva, Lidell in his prime was great.
