TRU had BP Mysterio/Cara for $24. It was outrageous. I was appalled. If other places follow suit then I will never buy a Battle Pack again. That's the reason I still don't have bat Rey in my collection.

If think if mattel owes us anything it's a conformation of whether this is true or not. If they intend on raising the prices then that's a shame and they will lose many a customer

Saddened to say as I've only just started collecting, it will be the end for me. At retail, £17.99 for a figure?! thats almost $30 and thats the current price for an elite. BOPPV are £24.99 - $40! If it goes up, I go down, and I'll only buy from that point on Undertaker. Seriously MATTEL, even WWE Figures earn a lot from you! They're in most toy shops, even some independent ones, gas stations and shops. They're greedy if they increase costs, they earn enough

I paid $23.99 for the McMahon/Punk 2-pack about a week and half ago. I didn't notice the price until I was at checkout. So yeah, BPs at TRU are more expensive than what buying two regular Basic figures at $10.99 would be. Price increases are always frustrating. If I walk out of TRU and I've spent $50-60 and I only got 3 figures, I begin to question my own intelligence. I've already cut back and stopped buying stuff I just "kind of wanted" but if the prices continue to go up, my cherry picking will only get worse.

TRU prices in general are ridiculous they charge 19.99 for the dc and mattel elites when walmart you can get them for 16.97. And cheaper other places too. At least around me I know other ppls TRUs charge crazy insane prices for figures.

I imagine this will be a worldwide increase.
I'm starting to get annoyed by this...
I got news about 2 years ago when Mattel was putting prices up, trying to get rid of cloth goods completely and Legends ending... I thought about quitting.
I got my latest DC sub figure and it was absolute garbage. The plastic was that bendy rubber garbage and I noticed they used it on the Elite 19 Dolphs hands too as it's stuck but bendy. There improving in some areas but then cheaping out in others ruining figures. Figures like the RSC Kane and JBL should not have been released if they weren't prepared to do them properly. It's an insult to customers/collectors.
They selling really well so they think they can up the prices, cheap out in places and people will still carry on buying them... Making more money... They may be selling really well now but what happens when you've pushed everyone away.... = end of the line...
So the posts all over the place but in a rush. You get the idea.

Hey, this fun topic is back again! Complete with "I feel so lied to that I'm going to quit collecting" and "I've kept collecting each time prices go up but THIS time is the last" BS to go with it! For those of you that really mean what you say, good for you! Voting with your wallet by not purchasing an expensive product is the best way to communicate your message.
Look people, I'll be the voice of reason that no one wants to listen to. I'll remind everyone that the US economy is in the tank and it's not getting better. Gas prices remain high. The growing concern of another war with the Middle East looms. Cost of EVERYTHING has gone up every year since, well, forever. This is not new.
I understand the frustration and I agree with the anger, but must we throw out the tired blanket statement that its all about greed? Could those of you accusing Mattel of doing this only to line their pockets provide some proof this time around? While I'm in the restaurant industry which is a little different I can provide you with the percentages of increases I've received from my suppliers over the years, and how much they've gone up most recently. I can also show you how we get about 2 cent worth of profit out of each dollar IF we don't make any mistakes like wasting food or having to repair the equipment used to make it when it breaks down.
For those of you that are so sure it's only about greed please tell me exactly how much profit Mattel is allowed to make before it's "wrong" so I can have an idea of what point it becomes a crime when you are successful.

Smyths still have basic figures on special lol. But this is getting so expensive now, £100 for 4 (5) figures in the BAF set. That's ridiculous. I bet basics will be £12-13, BP £22 and elites £18-20. It's a shame but that's what I guess but I think elites are worth more than £16. I remember jakks being £5 for a basic, £10 for deluxe and Battle packs lolNo you don't.

If they start jacking pricing up in the US, it better be for good reason like amazing outfits, even better detail/headscans, and include a hell of a lot better accessories. In those cases I'm game, but I do feel bad for international collectors, those rates are insane. I'm paying $16.99-$18.99 per elite, so of they hit $20 each, it doesn't bother me, they're great. If they go higher, I want a damn good explanation for why
