How about it.....
What if there continue to be screwjobs up until January.... could they put the WWE Title "up for grabs" in the Rumble match for the first time since 1992?
Except for the long waiting period of vacancy - I would love to see it.....
Imagine if they then loaded the Rumble..... CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Orton, Kane, John Cena, Wyatts, Ziggler, Big Show, Cody Rhodes, Golddust, Brock Lesnar, Big E, The Shield, Antonio Cesaro, Damien Sandow, perhaps a surprise entrant - The Undertaker?
Pepper in a few legends appearances, & maybe a TNA defector or two & we've got a heck of a Royal Rumble.....
While I don't see them holding it up that long - it could be awesome if 30 guys battle for the vacant championship... could be the greatest Royal Rumble ever...

It would be a neat thing to do, I'd like to see it. It would add importance to the Rumble. The whole "Winner gets a title shot in the main event of WrestleMania" thing hasn't happened a lot in the last few years (Cena 29, Orton 25, Batista 21).
But I dont know how they'd get from here until January, especially with Hell in a Cell already set, without pissing the people off with more screwjobs.

I'd be all for waiting until the rumble if the rumble match itself was for the wwe title. But I just can't see it happening. That would mean screwy finishes at every ppv from now until January.

Team Hell No*. But no, that would be terrible for PPVs. People are already fed up with WWE giving screwy finishes 2 PPVs in a row, so for 3 more PPVs would be disastrous for them. |

They BETTER NOT do that! It sucks not seeing a champion for some reason.... maybe its because I don't get to see that awesome title belt every often  |

If it was the end of November or mid December, I'd say sure. But 3 months without a champion? That would be a little much. It would make the rumble way more exciting than usual though.

It would be a good idea if the storyline started now. But since it started like two months ago it would be so annoying to have that many screwy finishes.

I have to agree with previous statements. If this storyline started at the end of October or November, it would be fun. But I think a third of the year is way too long to not have a champion.

According to some records, the WWE Championship was vacant from Wrestlemania 20 until Summerslam 2004 so this isn't too much of a stretch.

Honestly I like that idea, announce it now so the hype for the Rumble can begin, make the event HUGE like it used to be.
Have wrestlers announce that their entering and make it a big deal.
Plus they can then put more focus on the World Title, make that a little more important; you could have every main eventer now looking at Del Rio and wanting his Gold, so there you make Del Rio relevant and if they wanted, could play up his cowardness to the max with it all.
