The release of Marvel's Thor: The Dark World is just around the corner with an October 30th launch on IMAX screens looming, but the comic book studio is getting the pieces of their Phase Three title Ant-Man together. Director Edgar Wright teased that he was getting to work on the film with a behind the scenes picture from shooting the sample reel that played at Comic-Con a couple years ago, and now we have two frontrunners listed to play the lesser known superhero. Variety has word that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd are currently the top contenders, but another actor emerging isn't entirely out of the question.
Gordon-Levitt isn't a surprising choice since he was rumored to take on the role of Doctor Strange for Marvel, but Rudd's inclusion comes out of nowhere. Rudd hasn't really been involved in many thrillers or action movies, but if there's one studio that can change that, it's Marvel. With Wright at the helm, we're betting that the comedy side of things is fairly important to go along with the comic book action, and Rudd and Gordon-Levitt can do that just fine. Supposedly the two actors have to meet with Marvel and Wright one more time before a decision is made, but again, there's talk of one more unnamed actor also being in the mix. Disney releases Ant-Man on July 31st, 2015. Do you like either of these guys for Ant-Man?
