Nexus Barrett was best in my opinion, but would the group even work now with the Shield around?
Not to mention the Nexus has only worked for for Punk, Daniel Bryan and Ryback. Maybe Curtis Axel at a huge push but that took a long time to get going.
I couldn't see all those guys getting their singles pushes dropped to rejoin the Nexus.

he is good but he hasn't ever found his 'thing'. i see a heck of a lot of potential in him but he's never really gone beyond average because of a mixture of gimmick/ moveset/ character.
he was supposedly a street fighter before WWE, HOW HAS THIS NOT BECOME A PART OF HIS CURRENT GIMMICK? brawling englishman.
or shove him with drew mcintyre as sort of dirty, cheap brawlers.
in conclusion, i want to like him but he hasn't found his niche and wwe haven't gone out of their way to help him.

During the Nexus feud, he seriously should have taken the WWE Championship at Survivor Series. Cena screws Orton over and helps the enemy get the ultimate prize in the main event of a Big Four event.
He should've won MITB at some point and became World Heavyweight Champion.
In my mind, I always thought Barrett had wasted talent. WWE doesn't know what to do with that guy. Might as well just release him.
And can he PLEASE stop changing his entrance themes? I get he won a contest in NXT and everything, but the last great one he had was "End of Days (Version 2)."

- Give him ONE THEME SONG. Just one. Something ass-kick-y. Leave it for ages.
- Black, blue and red trunks. British flag on front. That's it.
- Badass. Asskicker. Lets his fists do the talking for him.
- Don't have him lose 12,000,000 matches in a row.
- Give him Sheamus in a hard-hitting feud, culminate with a street fight that Barrett goes over.
- Don't have him squander in the mid-card. Even if he gets a blow-off PPV title match.
The guy has the talent to make it work, he just needs something we all can sink our teeth into.

He needs a big feud with someone like Sheamus that ends in him coming out on top. He can go places if used right imo.

I would normally have said he should feud with Sheamus....but those guys wrestled like 80 times on RAW already and most of them resulted in Sheamus winning.
Honestly Barrett needs to be a fighter. The Barrett Barrage was actually a cool idea. Problem? He never beat anyone of merit...so what's the point? WWE has to stop just bringing a guy in as "heel ass kicker #15236" and have that guy beat Yoshi Tastu, Santino, Brodus Clay, etc. in meaningless squash matches for weeks on end.
I actually did like his most recent theme, it had punch to it. When it hits, you think a guy is coming out to kick ass.
Then he actually does come out, with not much doing, and loses ALOT.
So why do I even care?

Wade Barrett from 2013... Not so much.
I'm not a fan of Wade anymore, I used to like him in nexus though.

The gimmick and look he had early 2012 was perfect. Ready to be World Champion. When he came back with the plain black trunks they ruined what he had going for him IMO. Shave the beard, let the hair grow a bit so he can slick it back again and return to the Barrett Barrage trunks. What I'd have him do.

My favourite wrestler (obvious - look at my profile picture and signature).
I want him to keep his red attire with taped fists and beard but a new gimmick. Not necessarily a new gimmick but a title push. Not another IC though. Maybe something to do with the main event. I hope he comes back soon.

I thought he was off of tv, mourning the loss of his beard. The beard that was MURDERED. THAT WAS TAKEN TO SOON. I want him back, avenging his fallen follicles. Last I saw he actually has grown his beard out long. Just because he now has another, that doesn't make up for the one that was stolen before it could even see the world. It was young, full of potential, with a full life ahead of itself. |
