Hey guys, long time no talk. It has been a while since I have traversed these parts.
I asked Zeke to post this but he was worried his words would not come off as strongly, or the point would be missed, so he gave me his blessing to throw this up.
Ok, so I will get to the point with this. I had a discussion with my fellow WFWF co-owner Rated R, and we are trying to revamp and revitalize our board. We have several active members, but there is a problem we have encountered. We have a very crummy turnaround when it comes to our timeframe. One of the luxuries you guys have here is that you are able to work at your own pace and post at your own whims. Over in the WFWF, me and Rated R (now to be referred to as Trace for my own sanity) we do not really have that option. You guys generally know what RPing is I am sure, but we have an added responsibility of writing and putting together shows, much like you guys, but we have a much more limited timeframe to put it together.
We have many people who actively participate, but unfortunately one thing we lack are people willing to help us write matches for our shows. We can get promos if we grovel, and some people write their own matches, but generally that sticks me and Trace on a Wednesday with two matches written and having a six match card that must be result-ified by Friday evening. That leaves us in the hole having to write four matches that meet the standards held to us by the rest of the WFWF in under two days.
Now neither of us are people who go off gallivanting for all hours to various parts of our cities, blowing off our responsibilities here in the WFWF. But we do have things we have to do. Trace is a full time student, and I am a full time student and a full time menial labor worker, to put it bluntly. We need help. And after groveling so much to no avail in the match department, I came up with an idea to ask the fabulous writers here for help.
A couple of days ago I went to Zeke, someone to whom I have talked to at almost abhorrent length at one point, for some time with an idea. We both have boards in need of help. The WFWF needs help with turnaround, and the Text board needs help getting off of the life support it is currently living off of. Both of our boards have the skills and the ability to greatly aid the other.
So I asked Zeke if we could work with each other (the boards, I mean) to help fill the weaknesses of the other. Thinking the idea stellar and me the smartest person to ever send him a PM about working together ever (I MAY have added that last part in for my own personal satisfaction) we agreed to terms of sorts to pitch to both boards.

You guys, with your quality match writing, would aid me and Trace in making sure our shows can get up in a reasonable time. It really is not fair to anyone in a writer based place to almost unwillingly have to write four matches, even if the people are the owners. You guys know this better than anyone, you need to start and stop with matches, because after writing the second match everything kind of blurs together and it starts to get bland and generic. We have standards we try to keep over there, and sometimes our marathon match writing really puts those standards into question. But here, we know there are a couple of writers who hold themselves to similar standards and are people we would love to help adding a match to our show, making our lives easier, getting your names out there as writers, and having the satisfaction of someone reading and loving your work.
Some people choose to write their own matches, so certain matches would obviously be taken, like mine. Or Traces, for example. But to our newer guys, or the older guys with little time, your assistance in writing these matches, keeping them fresh would be stupendous for us.
Note that you are NOT required to RP to write matches. Though if you would like to give it a shot, you are MORE than welcome to throw down and try it out, if you come to help us write matches you are not required to. All you would be required to do would be to skim the bios of the characters in your match so you can keep it level (no 500 pound guys doing back flips, you know?) and know of heel/face tactics and stuff like that, similar to what you do in your own Texts already.
As an RP based place, me and Trace (or a third party if needed) determine the winner of the match based on their showing with the RPs. So we will inform the writer of said match who we need to win, and so long as it remains level and you write the winner accordingly, you pretty much have free reign of how you want to write it, just like in your own board.
WFWF:
Our responsibilities in this deal are sort of the opposite. Whereas we need help keeping up, the Text board needs help keeping afloat. Some of our guys are always looking to help other people become better writers. So after they handle their sh*t on our board, they are kind of left stagnant until it is time for them to write again.
So our guys, still looking to help critique aspiring writers, would go to the Text board, read your shows and reply accordingly. We have some of the most talented writers on the web, and we know that activity makes people more likely to join, and we know you guys are desperate to have your works read…as a former Texter myself, I know how it feels to write a show and the only views are from yourself when you go to edit it.
Another part of our deal would be if any of our newer guys want to try out match writing but are too nervous to actually take on two peoples characters here in the WFWF, they can use the Text as a training ground of sorts, where they can practice writing matches and get constructive criticism from both your guys and ours as to how to improve.
Note that, similar to how your guys are not required to participate in RPing if they do not want to, our guys are not held to having to read/reply/start a text if they do not want to.
But I know my guys, and Zeke knows his. We know that we all just want to improve as writers and help others take that next step forward themselves, so we imagine a lot of our people will help. Or at the very least, will make an attempt to try for the first few goes and see what happens.
In closing, I hope this message can reach all appropriate and interested parties. Both sides need help, both sides can help one another. I am hoping for a great symbiotic relationship between both boards. If it fails, no harm…we are both in the same spot we are currently in. If it works, hey, we had a bright idea for a change~! If we gain a couple of new RPrs, we would be incredibly ecstatic. If you guys gain a new Texter or two, you guys would obviously be overjoyed.
Trace, Zeke and myself all hope this works out for everyone. Both boards have immense talent, and great people. I think it is about time we work together to build both of our boards back up to their glory days and get one giant kumbaya going around the campfire of our imaginations.
