#1 PPV/TV schedule and the arena
I'd firstly change the set up, need a new stage and get rid of the ring ramp, only use it once or twice a year for a PPV to make it feel unique. For now I'd go back to Florida but try and get in a more diverse crowd instead of the same one they use to have every week. I'd do a 6 month on and off road trip, the night after BFG I'd go to Orlando for 6 months then on then a tour of the UK for a month of TV tapings and 5 months touring before BFG PPV.
Have the PPVs like:
Jan:
Hardcore Justice Impact Zone PPV (Kicks the year off with a home soil PPV and a big one for the IZ. Wasn't sure where else to put this one as after BFG is too similar to WM and ExR and around the middle of the year is too close to a similar PPV in Lockdown so a yearly kickoff of Hardcore mayhem seems good)
Feb:
UK PPV Road PPV (Can call it something like Genesis, there awesome fans for TNA so deserve a PPV, have it before UK TV tapings so theres no leaked spoilers or delayed build up)
March:
New PPV Impact Zone (Rest of TNA PPVs dont sounds great so I'd make a new one, something fresh and exciting to change it up a bit)
April:
Lockdown Road PPVMay:
No PPV N/A (Give a nice long buildup from Lockdown to the next big PPV, Slammiversary is the reverse BFG to me and should be treated with a unique build up, 2 months of TV time and if built up right fans could be gagging for the PPV and one month of saved money could get more buys)
June:
Slammiversary Road PPVJuly:
No Surrender Road PPV (Needs to be the reverse of SV, SV is almost a happy celebration event of TNA and No Surrender needs to be a dark and gritty PPV that shows the other side of wrestling, done two road PPVs in a row as this one needs to have a unique arena as well to get the right atmosphere for it)
Aug:
World Tour PPV Road PPV (A PPV in a foreign country, Japan, Germany, Canadia, anywhere other than the US or UK to promote TNA to new areas. Just a one off PPV that showcases TNA to somewhere new that could bring in new fans and also create a really unique atmosphere for a once a year PPV)
Sept:
Victory Road Impact Zone PPV (This needs to have big effort making it look unique with USA theme throughout the arena, build it as Road to BFG and the road home to the Impact Zone for 6 months of tapings)
Oct:
Bound For Glory Road PPVNov:
Feast or Fired Impact Zone PPV (Would call it something else, Sacrifice most likely or Against All Odds. A nice way to shake things up after BFG with the Feast or Fired match, still time to settle unfinished title scores from BFG and can start new ones as well. Its also not a big PPV that will overshadow BFG)
Dec:
Destination X Road PPVThe PPV list needs proper structure, if you asked me to name the WWE PPV calendar, 90% of the time I could and I could probably do it for most years too, for TNA, I couldn't tell you many if any at all. There needs to be more link for the PPVS to the months. Lockdown, SV and BFG will stay as they where always there and fans will be used to that, although October seems a dodgy month to me for the companies biggest PPV.
Destination X sounds like a end of year PPV so it fits in with December, Victory Road as said is a bit of a rip off of the Road to WrestleMania but it works for me, UK PPV should become synonymous with Feb as its around the time of TV tapings there anyway and its unique enough to stand out.
I'd also make more of an effort to find unique looking arenas, have a PPV every year in the WWE/ECW One Night Stand place as it has such a unique look, awesome wrestling fans that will sell it out and it fits a decent amount in too. It will also help in remembering the PPV, fans will remember say August is ECW arena PPV and just the atmosphere and fans usually makes it a good one.
If theres an effort made to make the arena look unique, like an all out USA theme for one PPV (VR), then it really adds to the event and helps fans remember that specific PPV and when it happens. Like Royal Rumble, I know so many people who dont watch wresting but every year they know Jan is Rumble time and Rumble is a fun match to watch for anyone.
Just realised I only did 3 PPVs for Impact Zone, I was trying to do 6 there and 6 away but the structure went a bit off aha. I like it though, they get 6 months of TV tapings so only 4 PPVs is still great for them and it also allows more room to expand and get TNA name out there. In fact, now I look at it, 6 PPVs and 6 months of TV seems greedy for Orlando.
Small thing but changing the rope colour and ring aprons for a PPV helps massively to set it apart. At the moment every PPV looks like Impact from the stage to the ring to the arena and it just doesnt look right, everything flows together but in a bad way.
I'm also 50/50 on the 6 Sided ring, I think its a really unique selling point that helped TNA a lot but I still prefer the classic 4 sides. I was tempted to go with Impact Zone = 6 side and Road tour = 4 sides but I think that would be too strange to constantly change it.
For now I'm going to agree with the majority, return to 6 sides because its synonymous with TNA now and it was good.
#2 Talent & Storylines
Its not just about having a great roster or having a great storyline, you need both. So Chavo is in an amazing storyline, I dont care because Chavo is boring to me. So AJ Styles is on tonight, I dont care because he isn't in a storyline. That needs to change.
First off, speaking of Chavo, the fans dont much like him and I'd use that. I'd basically rip off what Bo Dallas is doing in NXT and have Chavo be a suck up to the fans in an annoying way (Boo-Urns anyone?). Have him believe the fans love him but act in a bad guy way and always reason that he cheats to win and such so the fans are happy, but really its for himself.
The AJ storyline could be great and really set the way for TNA now. I'd have the selling of TNA become part of the story, Dixie doesn't want AJ in TNA because he doesn't have a contract but Jeff Jarrett has been behind the scenes for years now and resurfaces to tell Dixie that finally after loads of hardwork and low-ki (
![;)](http://www.wrestlingfigs.com/images/wink.gif)
) deals he is now a 50/50 owner of TNA. Eventually through small plot points he takes control of 50% of TNA so the second hour of Impact is his to do what he wants with it as well as half of every PPV. He back AJ and doesn't sign him back yet but lets him wrestle to the annoyance of Dixie on his side of the show against wrestlers Dixie didn't want. A great way to bring back people like Alex Shelley and blame their leaving on Dixie. Dixie would create a new World Title for the people who are actually in TNA and try to dictate it so EC3 wins it or something. I'd build the AJ wrestling other non contracted wrestlers of Jarretts choosing to lead to a PPV match with a one time offer of a match for Chris Jericho (one match he would surely do). Have it be leaked and a worst kept secret type deal so the "mystery opponent" for the PPV is known as you need Jerichos name for better buy rates. Eventually Dixie will get annoyed with this and a match will be agreed upon at the next big PPV, like Slammiversary. The main event will be built up massively from many angles occurring, I want the result of this to be so up in the air that you couldn't predict it at all. A huge 6-man, No DQ match, the Champ AJ Styles vs. The "real Champ" EC3 vs. Sting vs. Jeff Jarrett vs. Bobby Roode vs. Kurt Angle
and this match everyone will have a stipulation that could mean a guaranteed win. This is like the Unforgiven match, Goldberg/HHH (Goldberg lost, hes fired) so we all basically knew who was winning before hand, I'd use this in a reverse way. AJ wins, he gets to be ultimate champ and gets his dream contract that Dixie wont allow, Jarrett wins, control of TNA, EC3 wins and Dixie gets TNA, Sting gets pinned and he retires, Roode has no stip (a spanner in the works) and Angle wins he gets his HOF induction that was taken away by Dixie. Of course winner also becomes Ultimate TNA Champions. Jarrett wins with guitar smash to AJ, new heel Jarrett returns to the top of the mountain.
While this is happening have Chris Daniels become a face, build him up as a huge underdog to the main event which will eventually lead to an emotional and unexpected win of the TNA championship half a year or so after the big 6man match for the first time.
Having skipped through Survivor Series 09, WWE had such a wealth of young talent waiting to burst on the scene, TNA used to be like this. In one mtach they had newly single John Morrison and Miz in tights (much more professional and colourful), newly debuted Sheamus and a McMahon backed Drew McIntrye, Evan Bourne, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. Thats just one match and both U.S. and IC titles where held by people in that match. Thats what TNA needs to build with their X-Division and undercard. Bring in guys like John Morrison, Shelley, Paul London, bring Pope back and try and tempt a few under achievers like Drew away from WWE, the right offer and you've got a great new star then.
My ideal Roster:Current:AJ Styles
Abyss (hes a monster that works well, Park has run its course)
Austin Aries
Bobby Roode (hes a loner now, no more groups and cement him as a main eventer)
Bully Ray
Chavo (Dont like him but story (see above) I think could be great)
Chris Sabin (love him as he is)
Christopher Daniels
Eric Young
EC3
James Storm (no more tag teams, same as Roode)
Jay Bradley (I like him, he has a good look and his ring work is solid, needs to be pushed a certain way and could be one of TNAs home made wrestlers)
Jeff Hardy
Jeff Jarrett (light in ring schedule, one last World Title run)
Kazarian
Kenny King (needs to be in a tag team, his ring work screams it to me and with someone they could really show their talent off well)
Knux (tempted to get rid but he works well in the ring, get rid of his A&8s gimmick and put him as a big monster of a man)
Kurt Angle (lighter schedule)
Magnus (needs a change, he seems to forced at the moment and I think he would be a lot better as a bad guy, maybe the leader or a 3 man group)
Manik (I like him, good for merchandise too, get him more variants in colour for his costume)
Mr. Anderson (stick with him for once, he works well as a bad guy thats loved by fans, dont turn him face cos he gets cheered)
Robbie E & Jessie (good tag team, they aint doing too bad and I'd continue with what there doing, not a joke tag team)
Sam Shaw (same as Bradley, could make a team with Bradley as the Gutcheck crew and claim it and TNA held them back so their making their own mark)
Samoa Joe (go back to old music and old ways, Joe needs to be that undefeated bad ass that kills everyone)
Sting (I'd give him one last contract, have a farewell tour and then just ring him up for the occasional match once a year or so)
Wes Brisco (Haven't seen too much of him really so I'll give him a chance to see what he can do)
Rob Terry (50/50 on this one so would give him one chance to prove his worth in Magnus' stable)
New Signings:Alex Shelley
Charlie Haas (mainly to team with Benjamin)
Drew McIntyre (This one would be hard to get)
Jay Lethal
John Morrison
Lance Storm (for small schedules here and there and creative team)
Low-Ki (he was awesome, needs to be in a big promotion)
Matt Striker (for commentary)
Michael Bennett and Maria (while honestly not seeing them at all, I've heard good things and I think this could work in TNA)
Paul London
The Pope
Petey Williams
Raven (same as Lance)
Rhett Titus (he has impressed me with what I've seen and could even be a poach from WWE)
Shelton Benjamin
Sonjay Dutt
I'd also hire Cornette for the writting team, I feel I would contribute well to it too so with the few I have bought in I think it would make a massive improvement.
Tag Teams:Bro Mans
Magnus Stable (Magnus, Rob Terry & Wes Brisco - Terry and Brisco will be the tag team with Magnus as the single star, this will also be a shine or get released for Rob and Wes)
Gutcheck Crew (Jay Bradley & Sam Shaw, could even add other gutcheck people to it)
WGTT (Benjamin & Hass, this would be an on again off again team as Benjamin needs be be in singles competition to shine as well)
Bad Influence (CD and Kaz, until CD goes face for his world title win build up)
Kenny King & Jay Lethal (I think they'd make a great heel team with trips into the X-Division)
*More would be made, I just cant put anyone else together at the moment*
Get Rid:Garrett (he can be used for a while but ultimately he is useless in the long run)
Gunner (same as Garrett, I like him but he has no big potential)
Hernandez (they missed boat with him and he lost so much steam, he has hit the ceiling and I think its time to get rid and bring in fresh faces)
Rockstar Spud (hes done nothing and he didnt look that good anyway)
#3 Knockouts
I liked this idea someone had earlier so I'm going to steal it. Connection with Shimmer.
I'm not a big womens wrestling fan but TNA seemed to have a market for it and Shimmer seems to be the go to place for womens wrestling. A link between the two could be great, Shimmer gets exposure and TNA get more divas, could even do a cross promotion (in a small venue or IZ) womens PPV.
#4 Advertising
Its a massive factor and needs to be sorted, if we have a TV show or PPV or even a house show in somewhere like Delaware then I want Delaware to be plaster with TNA hype poster and signs and TV, Radio, newspaper adverts for TNA.
If TNA is coming to your town then I want everyone and his dog to know about it. But also make it short and sweet, dont make a long winded add that could become annoying and boring to potential customers.
#5
Big E Langston?
Structure
Seriously though, I sort of covered everything I would do really so this one is more an expansion but I would change the TV format style. There are too many promos (in the UK) for TNA coming to the UK. The WWE do one once a show with a 15 second thing of WWE coming to the UK on these dates and this one is live TV! where as TNA have a whole segment about why their great and why UK loves them and all this bollocks that they play 3 or 4 times a show and its terrible. Less promos too, more depth into promos and matches need to mean something. The TV title will have a trial and it needs a good showing it its to stay as I'm not a big fan at the moment.
Music as well, too many themes sounds the same and half of them arent that great. WWE, when the music hits i know who it is "we're a 3 man band!!!"... "*Glass shatter*"... "If ya smell"... Its all unique and TNA dont have that. Get someone to really work on themes and not Dixies husband who has one guitar sound and sings the same every time. This week on impact, Bully vs. AJ, it sounded like two songs from the same album and its not good at all. Music is so key to wrestling and TNA seem to have no clue with it.
Thats as much as I can be bothered to do now aha, I may add to it or I probably wont but thats my rough idea for my TNA.
