I remember that so fondly. That crap all went down right in the middle of my conversation with Foley. I thought Ambrose was gonna take my Wrestle Vessel photo and tear it to pieces. You looked damn spiffy. I was rocking my pimp suit.

Sting debuting to WWE on 2-21-11 to vs Undertaker at WM27. That was really more than a rumor. Sting was deep in talks with Vince. Vince was so sure that Sting was going to sign that he started to make video teasers hinting at Sting's arrival. Sting admitted that he was very, very close to signing with the WWE during those negotiations. (He said, "closer than I've ever been.") When Sting ultimately backed away from negotiations, the teasers turned in to teasers for Taker's return. It's a shame. I really would love to see a Sting WWE run. Hogan vs. Austin. Those rumors always pop up, but never pan out. Austin was scheduled to face Hogan instead of Rock, but both refused to job. Austin challenged Hogan in his HOF acceptance speech, but that fizzled. Hopefully (if the rumors of Hogan's commitment to WWE are true) we will get to see that at WM30. I don't know. This could just be a pipe dream.

I've always read that it was because evryone thought they were for Sting that Vince started talks - but the jist is that Sting was closer than he ever was to signing. Will it ever happen, probably not at this point :/ One I do remember though was Austin and Orton at WM25, I remember the night after Orton punted McMahon the world was on fire and everyone was calling for this to happen. Man that would have been great.

Anything that the dirt sheets have said in the last three months. remember Meltzer Reported that Vince McMahon was supposed to be back on TV at Hell in a Cell or the night after. and it still did not take place.
and that Orton would fued with Big Show and Daniel Bryan until about December. now they are saying he is out of the title picture
Meltzer, Rajah and Shearer are just throwing crap out there at this point to see what sticks, so if it comes true, they can say their sources told them, and if it doesnt, Plans can change or it may or may not happen

I remember back in 2009 at the Royal Rumble people were saying Christian would return and be revealed as the attacker of Jeff Hardy. Yup. That was the plan. Sucks he didn't jump at that seeing as he decided to join WWE anyways. Christian was already signed with the WWE by that point. He was going to attack Jeff but the plan was changed when the rumor broke on the internet and it was changed to Matt. I think it was great that Christian wasn't the one to attack Jeff because it would have cemented Christian as Edge's lackey. Instead he got to spend a year as the face of ECW and was putting on great matches. Sure it was on the C show but better than playing second bit role in the Edge/Hardy feud.

But it wouldn' have been Edge/Hardy, it would have been Edge/Christian vs the Hardyz Edge had the WWE Title after the rumble and then the following month became the WHC. Christian would have been seen as nothing more than Edge's lackey. The WWE has always tried to keep Christian in Edge's shadow but this feud would have ceiled it IMO. Having him do Edge's dirty work would have hurt his singles career if he was taking orders from his supposed partner. WWECW was pretty bad for years but I enjoyed its final year w/ Christian on top (I still can't believe they made Ezikiel Jackson the final WWECW Champion over Christian).

Actually there used to an article In the daily news here I New York written by a guy named the slammer and every Saturday he would write an article on the latest tna/wwe news I rember reading him confirm sting was signed as 2/21/12 I was so pumped because he had never been wrong in any other report. We know how that panned out and the next week in his article he announced he was taking an "extended break" and wouldn't be around for some time this was the last I ever saw of him. So yeah that's how close sting was a legitamate news paper broke it

I heard that the Gobbly Gooker was suppose to be Sid. Everyone talks about how the Undertaker was going to be in there, but I always heard it was Sid. No clue where it came from, and I never really had any info to back it up, until last week. I was listening to Stone Cold Steve Austin's podcast, and he was talking with Bruce Prichard. I found it interesting when they started talking about the Undertaker. Originally Vince didn't want Mark (The Undertaker) but instead he wanted Sid. He wanted Sid bad enough, that he had very little interest in Taker.
As many of us know, Taker debuted with Prichard at Survivor Series 90 as the mystery wrestler, who replace Bad News Brown, for the Million Dollar Man's team. As I mentioned before, the rumors are, it was Taker going to be in the egg, but I think Vince planned on Sid being in that egg, because he is Vince, and Vince was/is king, and how could Sid say no (Which he did) so he was stuck with Taker. Now here is where I feel my rumor is even closer to truth.
When they brought in Undertaker he was suppose to be called Kane the Undertaker, but that was eventually scrapped to just the Undertaker. It was Bruce who came up with the gimmick, and said he wanted to manage the Undertaker. His reasoning for it, "He would be the black to my white." So my guess, they had this egg idea in motion already, made the giant egg, Sid says no to Vince, Vince goes with Taker with the thought of jamming Taker in the egg, Bruce claims Taker, so now Vince is stuck with giant egg. So he just get a bird costume and goes with the gooker.
I may be way off on this one, but the story sounds good in my head!
