Have you ever seen or heard a rumor you got excited about and then it turns out not to be true? Like when they said punk was going to bring back the nwo. Or when he was supposed to lead the Sheild.

It was rumored for a while that Honky Tonk Man was going to debut for TNA Impact.
Sadly, this day never arrived.

I don't know how true it was, but during the height of the Attitude Era in mid 2000 I read a rumor that the APA would be guest stars on the Simpsons, but then they got scrapped. Just the image of Simpsons versions of the APA brawling at Moe's Tavern, or Homer or Bart hiring them for protection, just makes me laugh.
