so, not to call anyone out or anything, but in alot of the threads there has been alittle too much negativity lately. even though its popular to boo cena (im even one of those people sometimes when super-cena gets stale), i was rewatching some youtube videos & got to see the "once in a lifetime" video again, & i got to rewatch the part about Cena & how he lets the younger up-&-coming talent come train w/ him, & then i saw the "make-a-wish" piece they did on him. i must say, that truly got to me-how they describe how he makes all his appearances w/ a great attitude everytime. i very much so admire the way he handles himself for the younger fans, including the make-a-wish kids, & i truly believe that says something about his character, that he was "the most requested athlete for make-a-wish foundation" (they mentioned it in the video). anyway, whether you have seen this short piece or not, i figured id post it just to get some positive feelings going to start the day, or share some hope in humanity, or just show a small showing of how admirable cena is outside of the ring the way he caries himself. this 2-minute video really touched my heart & was hoping to pass it on for the lovers & haters
& just not to limit this to Cena, are there any inspiring stories or videos that you guys may have that have either touched you or have inspired you?

The majority of the board has a pretty similar mindset when it comes to Cena - he's good for business, he's capable of fantastic matches, he's a workhorse for the company, but the way in which he's handled in the ring is just incredibly tiresome.
There are, of course, the fringe crowd, that refuse to acknowledge that he's ever done a single positive thing in his entire career, which is ridiculous.

Yea I don't believe people's issues with Cena are with him as a person or a wrestler. The issues come from the way the WWE over exposes him and "force" us to like him.

Nah. He's neither the hero we deserve or really need right now.
He's more like a skin virus which cannot be eliminated without surgical procedures.

I don´t have a problem with Cena, he´s good in and out of the ring for me. I remember the MizTv segment with Bryan and Cena, the famous "You are a parody of wrestling" and the reply Cena gave, while for some may be corny, felt and I believe its genuine because you can see Cena about to choke up when he begins to talk about the kid that wanted to meet him in the make-a-wish foundation.

Then maybe Cena should just do this full time. I see absolutely no way at all how his charity work connects with the fact that he SUCKS in the ring. I think John Cena the man, the real person, is incredible. I admire him for his charity work and his kind heart and soul. I think john Cena the PRO WRESTLING TELEVISION CHARACTER sucks. This isn't the Disney channel. This is pro wrestling. The wwe. The show that parents wouldn't let their kids watch back when I was growing up. Cena is a terrible character. A terrible wrestler. He goes through the motions day in and day out. To the point when he whips out a drop kick or huracanrana, people go insane. What is this the 1980s? Go watch Vince's infamous attitude era kick off speech. What he says in that is exactly the opposite of his mindstate today. 15 years LATER we have gone back to the old status quo. Of insulting the audiences intelligence and giving the old good guy vs bad guy schtick. Why have we regressed? I felt like a ing moron watching Sandows cash in. That was the nail in the coffin. That was the greatest example of the wwe insulting my intelligence in the 14 years of watching. Cena got a beat down so horrendously(mind you on his "injured" arm that he came back 80% sooner than what his healing schedule suggested) that we have seen guys get written off for months after something like that in the past. If not written off then at least "taken to the nearest medical felicity" Cena got beat down that badly, and not only got up, refused medical attention, but rolled in the ring for a match. And not only did he wrestle a match, he wrestled a 15 minute knock down back and forth brawl, that consisted of him kicking out of TWO of Sandows finishers. Wait it gets worse. Cena wins the match. And comes out the same week on smackdown like nothing happened. I have never felt dumber and more embarassed to be a wwe fan. Hogan never did anything that bad. Austin/Rock never. we are at an all time high right now in being insulted. And it's all because of one man. JOHN CENA That, that is why I boo him.

WWE get's 10 times better then Cena gets injured. Look at the guys who nearly broke through the glass ceiling as soon as he gets hurt. Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, Edge to name a few. I love it when he's hurt. Just anything that keeps him away from Raw.
BUT - As a person, he's 'a great guy' with kids and whatever. Even though he did steal Mickie James from Kenny Dykstra...

Awesome video. Cena's superb, and when he wins, angry teenagers get upset and complain on the internet, which makes it even better.

All of you saying he's a terrible wrestler are funny to me. I'm far from the biggest supporter of the guy but he does NOT suck in the ring. He just wrestles differently than guys we tend to like. If someone like Jericho says Cena is good, I'm inclined to agree with him over some arm-chair wrestlers on a message board.

My issue with John is the same as Hogan, Austin, & The Rock. They are glorified beyond comprehension, but do not show technical virtuosity. They're no where the level of "Workers" people claim them to be, nor have they brought true legitimacy as grapplers or prestigue as artists.
He is brainwashing another generation to lack in appreciation for the likes of Thesz, Race, Flair, Hart, Michaels, Punk, & so on. He panders to mediocrity.
Plain & Simple.
