Just heard this news on talk sport radio. Apparently BT will have exclusive rights to the champions league and even sky sports will no longer get champions league football unless you subscribe to BT!
This is terrible news. Ive only got terrestrial tv channels on freeview.

Great, another peice of programming Jake Humphrey and his boring persona graces our screens. James Richardson needs to front it, love the Sunday night football show he does with the French, German and Italian journalists.

Or Owen Hargreaves. Can't stand BT Sports' coverage. This takes it to Sky though, way more than any others have.

BT really need to up their game now. They need 8 sets of commentators, and possible a 2nd BT Sport channel if they get a few other things to go with this. Gutted Sky lost it as they have the best pundits and coverage. BT really need to get better commentators and pundits - Michael Owen commentating the CL final would be shocking.
Also BT have said some games, including both finals, will be free to air.

Hopefully it fails and the champions league takes the hit. The difference in prize money between the Europa League and the Champions League is incredible! No way should there be such a difference. I'm pretty sure it's around 10x difference. No wonder teams don't try when they get put out of the CL and into the EL.

My sisters boyfriend (fiancé) just bought BT Internet. He said it was £5 cheaper then what he was paying and it was set up and useable in an hour. I still stand by my 'it's the future, use the internet' stand in all things entertaining though.

Its a shame for the average fan who wants to watch a decent game on terrestrial TV. £900m deal. looks like BT fee's will shoot up. Im not a big fan of BT, but its about Sky got knocked off there punch, charging for everything.

Not that it means much as it's not live but ITV have the rights for showing Champions League & Europa League highlights.
