Yeah, after the Legends line got cancelled, Mattel stopped singing people individually.

Luger may or may not have a legends deal but he IS under WWE's payroll. He works with them on the Wellness policy. I'd assume that is what allows them to make him.

Hopefully after this group of expiring contracts they mentioned is completed in 2014, they will be much more active about pursuing deals with some of the big name stars that are available out there.

i don't believe that Mattel personally signs anyone to deals. I think they only use existing legends contracts. Savage didn't have a Legends deal. Warrior doesn't have a Legends deal. They were guys that THQ/2K/Mattel had to sign on their own after they got the go-ahead from WWE. And this goes back to the OP, if Mattel/THQ/2K reached out and signed warrior and macho to a deal then why not someone like Flair, surely WWE would give the go ahead? |

Yeah, after the Legends line got cancelled, Mattel stopped singing people individually. Sorry i didnt include this in my above post, i dont know how. The fact is they were able to reach out and sign people individually so why not reach out for one or two special talents like Flair and Hogan??? We arent asking Mattel to reach out for an entire legends roster just one or two special cases that will generate big money like Flair and Hogan? I guess they would be expensive but isnt it worth it to have Hogan and Flair in your line of figures? I mean its not like Mattel are short of a few bob lol. I mean dear knows how much Warrior and Macho wanted from Mattel! This is the same Warrior that held up Vince McMahon at Summerslam, right? |

I believe Jerry(RoR) said Mattel was ready to sign Flair right before Flair's drunken debacle from the 2k14 panel. So since WWE wasn't happy with Flair, WWE nixed it.... for now. WWE knows there is still money in the name Ric Flair, so I'd assume it won't be long. Bingo.the McMahons were furious about Flairs hijacking of this event and this is what JR was canned about too.Im not too pushed about Flair anyway.....I made my own simple fixup and it looks great IMO.theres at least 20 guys I would want before him. |

The only one I would want before Flair would be Hogan But I did grow up on Ric Flair and he is my all time favorite so I guess I'm biased. I don't think they do have the rights to make Patriot......but Im sure Wilkes could use the money...LOL.plus he would be a great colourful figure.
