As Vince Russo said in his Youtube interview with Wade Keller...There will always be that hardcore wrestling fan that will watch it because it has the word wrestling in the title. This! I have watch wrestling since 1991. I have seen it rise and fall an rise and suck... From indys to the big 3, its just my go to sport. Currently these wrrstlers are why I tume in: Ziggler Antonio Cesaro Undertaker ( waiting for return) Brock Lesnar ( same as Taker) Daniel Bryan Big E Langston The other great half of being a addicted fan, is when te current product sucks, theres a huge library of DVDs/Blu Rays/ VHS to watch the past! Which I did last night, WM 3.

I'v watched wrestling since around WM 3. I've attended 2 WM's (23 and 24), a Survivor Series (97), a Summerslam (2004), countless house shows, Raw's and Smackdown's, and a few other PPV's. I took a break from 2010-Jan 2013 (I would watch the Royal Rumble, and WM tho). I came back "full time" after WM this year, because of The Shield. I now stay for guys like Cesaro, Sandow, Big E, Bryan, and Rhodes to name a few. Do I like everything they are doing? No Do I fast forward bits now and then? Yes It might now be the best, but I have seen ups and downs before, and I know that with the guys I mentioned above, that their matches are worth wading through some boring/annoying/frustrating story lines or matches that I could care less about. Other than the break I took, it's been my go to when I've had a crappy day or just want to zone out for a bit. It's been a constant, and that's why I watch

I watch out of habit, but it's really just background noise. I am aware of the storylines and what is happening with the product but I'm not sitting there glued to it.

It's still more entertaining than 85% of other stuff on TV.

I continue watching because despite a lot of the content not being good, there's still a few things I enjoy about WWE that I continue watching. The only nights I really sit down and watch are Raw on Mondays and TNA Impact on Thursdays. Last week, for the first time in YEARS, I can say I enjoyed Impact more than RAW. I sit down every Monday and Thursday, hoping to be entertained and hoping that I like the shows. If I expected the show to suck, I would not waste my time watching when I could watch other things. I always expect Smackdown and Main Event to not be enjoyable, so I use my Wednesday and Friday nights to do something else worth my time. I always DVR both shows just to skim through them to see if there's anything worth watching.
Also, I don't get why wrestling fans, mainly the IWC, continue watching if you expect the show to suck. Like I heard Don Tony say one time when someone who was listening to the show said the show sucked, "If you don't like it, don't eat it. If you don't like it, don't listen, if you don't like it, don't watch it." So I tuned in because there's stuff I like and even though I'll have to sit through stuff I dislike, I could always switch the TV to my PS3 when there's something I don't like.

To have something to complain about on the internet.

Because of DVR. It allows me to watch exactly what I want and skip the majority of the show, which is largely crap. Everything after the Shield attacked Punk last night was garbage, so I skipped it. That's an entire hour of my life I could use to do far more important stuff, like twiddle my thumbs. I complain far less when I only watch the segments involving the people I care about, which is dwindling. Look at the horrendous string of PPVs they've had and we all just buried Survivor Series for being one of the worst ever. WWE doesn't care about you, or me. So why invest so much energy into the product to keep seeing ADR, Big Show, Randy Orton and John Cena haha? I love wrestling, I will support the wrestlers I enjoy to the ends of the earth, but Raw as a start to finish show sucks, and it largely hasn't changed since 2006.

DVR is huge. I'm not sure I would still be watching regularly if it weren't for the ability to fast forward through the garbage. With that being said, I watch for the occasional magic moment. Times that remind me why I love it so much. They're rare nowadays, but every so often, you see a spark. I'm in a really weird spot right now. Summerslam, to me, was by and large one of the best shows WWE has put on in a couple of years. I was riding such a high after that show, and now, just over three months later, I'm dangling by a string. Night of Champions, Battleground, Hell in a Cell, and Survivor Series were absolute trash (Battleground and Survivor Series being particularly awful). As a result, I have never been so emotionally uninvested in the product, and that sucks. But I continue to watch, in the hopes that things will come around. They usually do.

Hopefully the start of the year will reignite some creative effort. My biggest problem though, is the lack of effort. It's not that I don't enjoy guys on the roster. I think most guys could be entertaining if they were given something entertaining to do. I just don't see WWE trying to give us that anymore. Most of the guys on the roster are aimlessly thrown on the show. Mix that with WWE not really listening to us and it's not worth my frustration. There are so many other great shows on TV now, and Netflix, that it's a shame, and moderately unbelievable, that WWE truly believes they don't have to work to maintain their audience anymore. The landscape of WWE should always be changing. Cliffhangers, shock value, new talent, new match-ups and feuds, and a level of excitement that makes us feel like we can't miss what we're watching each week. When is the last time you could say that about WWE?

When is the last time you could say that about WWE? I think that's important to bring up - there's so many guys on the roster that I'm a big fan of right now. And to that point, there's still some really good wrestling happening on a nearly weekly basis. That's great, but it means nothing because there's never a story there. How am I supposed to get invested in watching The Shield vs. Cody Rhodes & Goldust for the 20th time when their feud is about as vanilla and underwhelming as it gets? They have great matches together, but that only goes so far. It's almost as though WWE realizes that they have fairly consistent high quality wrestling, and so that should be enough. It isn't, and it never has been. A five star technical classic still needs a story to be memorable, and story is lacking tremendously right now.

Why I watch WWE? Let's see: CM Punk, Divas, Daniel Bryan, Divas, Dolph Ziggler, Divas, newer guys like The Wyatts, Big E Langston and recently Xavier Woods...oh and I did I mention Divas?
RAW, Main Event and SmackDown have a few hits and misses but I still watch it anyway because at the end of the day it still ENTERTAINMENT.

I.Hate.These.Posts! if you don't like wrestling, don't ing watch. It's that simple. If you like wrestling, watch it and shut your mouth. Don't complain after every event. I'd you do have a complaint, then be specific and give examples of what you would like to see done differently. triplehfanisback, i wish you wouldn't post anything, ever.

Probably because I'm held at gunpoint while being forced to watch it.
Or because I genuinely enjoy the product. One of those two.

I watch because I enjoy it... Funny that.
It may suck but so does the girl I met last week... So I've been told.

This might be the single greatest summary of the current "direction" in the WWE right now by wrestling blogger/writer Scott Keith: So my pre-show rant for the day: I feel like this company has fallen into living out The Bridge on the River Kwai with this Authority deal. They’re all about “telling stories”, but they have literally ONE (1) story they’re telling, which is “HHH and Stephanie are bad people and Vince returns to get revenge at Wrestlemania.” Except Vince was never betrayed or wronged by them on TV, he just kind of disappeared. And they don’t actually know what match is being built to. And they don’t know how they’re getting to that match. And they don’t know when Vince is coming back or why. But BY GOD, the storyline that people have craved for a year is ING VINCE MCMAHON V. COO HHH and if fans chant for Daniel Bryan it just means we’re in “bizarroworld” or it’s a smark-heavy city or the football game was big competition or it’s a holiday show and we just don’t understand how important it is to have 5 (five) authority figures running RAW every week to build to the incredibly important, once-in-a-lifetime HHH v. Vince showdown that we already saw twice in 1999. And now that we’ve burned through all the possible World title contenders (Ziggler, Bryan, Big Show, Kane, Del Rio, Punk, Ryback, Henry) and there’s literally nothing left to fill time until YOU WILL GET HHH V. VINCE AND ING LIKE IT, now we get a “title v. title” ladder match between Orton and Cena after four straight months of screwjob finishes in PPV main events, because there’s no one else left to main event. And even then they can’t call it a unification match, because they’re compelled to screwjob that up as well because it doesn’t matter until we get to HHH v. Vince, which you will ING LIKE OR YOU, which is the most importantest thing in the history of sports entertainment. For some reason.
But maybe that’s just me.
