This honestly doesn't surprise me, I actually changed the channel around 9:30 for the first time in YEARS. Maybe if they went back to 2 hours that'd help alot.

I don't know what the  happened, but it seems like they forgot how to book wrestling since Summerslam. Good, good that it shows that this ing stuff isn't getting over. |

Its that damn Daniel Bryan with his "Yes" chants and that armature CM Punk. They ruin WWE programming every week. We need more Cena and Orton.

Its obvious that fans are fed up, but they don't care. They chant Daniel Bryan but of course that doesn't mean we want Daniel Bryan. It means we want some other convoluted bullshit.

Maybe audiences don't care to see The Shield wrestle the same six-man tag every week for six months. Change it up, WWE. Give people characters, let them show those characters, and put those characters into stories. You've tried the "guys just do moves for half an hour" experiment. It's failing.

I work a graveyard shift, have for three years now. I used to wake up early to watch it live, grab an hour nap, then head to work. But lately, for about the past month and a half to two months, I've thought it has been horrible. I just set my DVR, and watch it whenever... And I've watched WWE since I was three years old, for 25 years now I've been a fan. I can't believe how disinterested they've made me in the product. im in the same boat... I dvr most of the weekly programing but delete without watching it.. |

No one or Atleast very few people are interested in cena or Orton I the storyline is good but the people in there storyline aren't just so happens the Wwe have invested too much time and money in them now just to drop them.
I get that out of todays WWE roster the two "household names" would be Cena and Orton so obviously its only right that they get this huge historic storyline but as long as the board is ok with having crapratings.

These are like 95/96 numbers. You know. The point where they had to do a drastic overhaul in order to save the company's ass. Quote for truth. I think were at that point now, hopefully im right in saying triple h as a good modern eye for business with the formation of one world title and hopefully seeing guys like del Rio going after the IC title to bring it up to a better standing thus giving us more interesting matches across the board |

I am surprised that the Board of Directors and to a lesser extend the investors have let the WWE get away with this crap for as long as they have.
The WWE has been in steady decline since the end of the Monday Night Wars. I think they should completely eliminate the "Writing Staff" and go back to having a booking committee. (Vince or Triple H could head the committee) By having a group of guys who have lived and worked in the business for the better part of their lives would be great for the company. No one understands wrestling like a wrestler. Sadly at some point Vince forgot this and started hiring "Television Writers" who really have no clue what Wrestling is or how it should be presented.
I would like to see Triple H begin to surround himself with a group of people he trusts to book the shows and give the "Road Agents" more power in regards to the actual in ring product as the "Television Writers" are phased out.

Long may the ratings decline continue! God knows they deserve it after the embarrassing product they have put out since Summerslam but, in particular, since SSeries. They have so much pointless crapon every RAW, they constantly miss chances to make decent feuds epic and they refuse to invest heavily (to the extent of Cena or Orton) in anything tht the God forsaken Internet fans enjoy.
I was normally one of the guys who would laugh at armchair bookers who thought they knew it all, but at this moment in time, I genuinely believe that some of the most knowledgable guys on this forum could book the product better. And when the fans know more about where your product should go than you seem to, that's absolutely frightening in my opinion.
This company, and the wrestling business, is not invincible. If they don't step it up they'll be gone within 20-30 years. I just hope they don't blame the wrong people/things for what is sure to be an upcoming gradual decline in ratings, PPV buys and ticket purchases.

It's good for a cable show, sure. But for the WWE, it's a decline. Unlike most cable shows, WWE are also heavily reliant on ticket sales stemming from their core product, so it needs to be entertaining enough to encourage investment (not only in the form of tickets but also PPV buys at an extortionate price in their primary market in an age where other mediums may be available). Having said that, you're right that this result as a one off doesn't mean much. I would be delighted if this trend continued because the WWE really are close to something magic, they just don't seem to know what to do. It would be a shame if the careers of incredible talents such as Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Damien Sandow, Brodus Clay kind of fluttered to a halt because the higher ups can't get their crap together. This talent pool deserves better. The fans deserve better. I guess I was just venting, regardless of this rating. |

Wrestling sucks so bad right now. I can't believe there are people who can sit through 3 hours of that sh*t watching it live. Thank God for the DVR and its epic fast forward button. Pretty much this! I almost always watch like 1-2 shows before I watch Raw so that I can FF all the sh*t and of course the commercials. If I couldn't do that I'd be so sad.. |

good, they deserve it. ratings reflect the product and the product is mediocre at best right now
constantly over selling themselves as this "hip and trendy social media dominant mega company"
plugging their app and twitter instead of storylines
burying talent on a weekly basis
match repetition like it's going out of style
so many things going wrong right now. it's ridiculous. because they have never had a better group of talent (in ring) than they do right now. variety is the spice of life.....such potential is being destroyed for the sake of making sure the kids still like Cena and that Orton stays "protected"

I haven't watched RAW in about a month now. It's really no surprise; this might be the worst the product has ever been, and most people couldn't possibly care any less about this feud between Orton and Cena. Each month things have somehow managed to get even worse than the last, and I don't see things getting any better any time soon.

Unfortunately, I think those rating numbers would have to be a lot worse before WWE has a major shake up. While ratings may be slowly approaching 94/95 numbers, there are 2 things to consider. First, WWE is a marketing machine. Figures, DVDs, T Shirts and other merch makes them a significant amount of money. They didnt have the revenue stream coming in in 94/95 when ratings were in the crapper when adverts and 5 PPVs a year where their major streams. Second, the 3rd hour of Raw is making them more cash. 3.5 million viewers over the course of 3 hours is better than 4 million over the course of 2. I don't think the ratings are going to wake their asses up like in 97. The PPV buyrates on the other hand, thats a different story. However, they still make such a ridiculously huge amount even with a crap buyrate, it seems like they are just complacent at this point.
