I'm completely new to the world of wrestling figs as I've not followed WWE in a long time (at least not since around 2000 or so). I picked up a few Mattel figures and liked them enough that I started to browse ebay for some cheaper, loose figs. While browsing, I came across a Jakks TNA Hulk Hogan and being a child of the 80's, I had to have him in my collection (I knew there would be a scale difference between the two lines, but he was cheap). Anyways, the Hulk figure blew me away. The head sculpt was incredible and his articulation seemed so much smoother than the new Mattel figures. I'll admit that his body is more cartoonish, but I like it. Being larger than life seems right to me when it comes to a wrestler.
Since buying Hogan, I immediately shifted gears and started tracking down Deluxe Aggression and TNA deluxe figures. The best part is, they're incredibly inexpensive and I've managed to pick up every figure, with the exception of Stone Cold, the Rock, and Suicide, for around $11 at most. I've managed to find most of them in decent lots or with free shipping, too. In two weeks, I managed to pick up Chris Jericho, MVP, CM Punk, the Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Matt Hardy, Mick Foley, the Boogeyman, Batista, Tazz, Randy Orton, Matt Striker, RSC Sting, as well as the aforementioned Hulk, SCSA, Rock, and Suicide. I'm also waiting for a few more to come in (Mr. McMahon, Sabu, and a TNA Sting).
I'm still trying to determine which series each figure is from but they all seem to be complete, to the best of my knowledge, and they look great on my bookshelf. I'm kicking myself for not buying these when they were easily available at retail but I'm glad that I have them now, at least.
