Interestingly enough, apparently there's a "plan" for Carlos Condit as well for UFC 171 though Dana didn't specify. I imagine it's just the match up with Brown, but on the off-chance there's something else planned, I'm going to guess a Diaz rematch. Either one is fine with me.

-- Kinda hoping it's Condit/Brown. Nick can face the winner.

Congratulations to Georges St. Pierre, going out on top. He had a questionable last fight, but the end result is he gave us a really entertaining fight. If he comes back, great! I'll welcome him back, but I hope he just goes out as the WW GOAT.

seems like most wanted Hendricks vs Condit, but I'm loving Lawer getting a shot. Condit/Brown/Diaz are definitely in the mix, so WW has a lot of intriguing matches/rematches that should follow..

I'd love to see a rematch between Rory and Condit. Can't possibly count out Rory yet. He's definitely still in the mix at Welterweight.

I'm pulling hard for Lawler!

Nick Diaz was offered the fight but he said he was retired. Condit will now face Woodly.
The welterweight division has been given new life. Lots of exciting matchups coming Lawler vs Hendricks Woodly vs Condit McDonald vs Maia Lombard vs Shields Gastelum vs Story (I know their not top 10 but exciting none the less)

I'm picking Lawler over Hendricks and Woodley over Condit.

I like Lawler. Always have. Big power and he's grown up a lot since the guy that got ko'd by Nick Diaz. Hendricks needs punched in the mouth for all the sh*t he talked after the GSP fight. I'm sorry but I don't buy that Hendricks only went 70% in that fight. Its a world title fight, go all out or stay home. He couldn't put GSP away and he lost. That being said, Lawler has the tools to beat Hendricks not only with his big left hand, but he is a strong very capable counter wrestler. Hendrick will have a hard time getting the fight down.
I am stoked for the Condit and Woodley fight. I think Woodley has the best chance if he goes to the grind. I pick Condit because he is too big of a step up in competition for Woodley. Ellenberger wouldve been more appropriate for Woodley. I respect the moxie to step up.

Some quick predictions for the rest of the card.
Jury over Sanchez. Love Diego's heart, but Jury has him everywhere.
Lombard over Shields. Jake is too one dimensional, and Lombard has brutal finishing ability.
OSP over Krylov. Krylov looked good in his last fight, and 205 is where he should be considering he was 218 last fight and there are m iddleweights who are bigger. OSP has fought better people and he outclasses Krylov.
Story over Gastulem. Good learning experience for Kelvin. Story is a tough fight for anyone.

Yeah... some people are acting as though it was an outright robbery and he is the "real" champion. It wasn't and he isn't. I'd love Lawler to win the title... it would be an amazing comeback, considering where he was 2-3 years ago. The only downside would be Nick Diaz crawling out the woodwork, begging DW for a rematch...

Yeah, Lawler was wildly inconsistent 2-3 years ago. He went 3-5 in Strikeforce with wins against Manhoef (1 dimensional kickboxer by KO ironically), Lindland (Past his prime wrestler), and Amagov (good fighter, but overmatched) and losses against Shields, Babalu, Jacare, Kennedy and Lorenz Larkin. No shame in losing to those guys (Jacare is a beast and Shields is good at the one dimension he's good at) but every other fight was winnable. Getting back with Monte Cox and switching to ATT has been great for him because he has looked like the guy we all thought he would be when there was so much hype on him. If Hendricks beats him, maybe then I might consider him the Interim Champ. He lost a lot of respect from me when he started making excuses.

Apparently Big Rig came in 1.5 pounds over and has an hour to make weight.
Potentially huge development.

Of all the times to miss weight, Big Rig picked the worst time.

Way to go Dolce diet! Geez, what would of happened had he not made weight?! The only time I can think of where someone didn't make weight in a UFC title fight was GSP/Joe Riggs, but GSP was the champ already & still took the fight. I couldn't imagine what was going on in Dana's head for those 2 hours. I initially would of put my money on Hendricks to win, but maybe I'm just a little less confidant in him now. He looked exhausted in after his second weigh in. Regardless, should be a great, great show.

Lutter didnt make weight against Silva. Yeah it kinda makes you wonder how much the weight cut took out of Hendricks. That and the pressure of all the media saying he's the uncrowned champ. That pressure and hype that he now has to go out and validate against one of the most dangerous if not the most dangerous power puncher in the division and p4p. Should be a good show but I'm picking Lawler. He seems like he has everything on track.
