Way to go Dolce diet!  Geez, what would of happened had he not made weight?! The only time I can think of where someone didn't make weight in a UFC title fight was GSP/Joe Riggs, but GSP was the champ already & still took the fight. I couldn't imagine what was going on in Dana's head for those 2 hours. I initially would of put my money on Hendricks to win, but maybe I'm just a little less confidant in him now. He looked exhausted in after his second weigh in. Regardless, should be a great, great show. If Hendricks would've missed again, Dana said in an interview that Lawler would win the title if he won but Hendricks wouldnt if he won. |

Mike said Johny went and did some light excersing and dropped the weight really fast. |

Great fight - I don't have too much of a problem with the result... I think the last round and takedown probably won it for Hendricks. I was swaying towards Lawler before that though - and the first round was pretty close.

Thoughts on tonight's fights
I was pulling for Lawler, but Hendricks got the clutch takedown. Hendricks must have a pretty stiff beard because Lawler hit him with some good shots.
Sucks Condit jacked his knee up just when the fight was getting interesting. I'd like to see them do it again when Condit gets healthy. Woodley I think needs another solid victory before I consider him title ready.
Lombard put the beatdown on Shields. Shields is a tough dude because Lombard was hit his judo throws with ease and his big punches. Lombard is in the Woodley boat.
Jury did what I thought he would do.
OSP with the VON FLUE CHOKE! You don't see one of those everyday.
Bermudez has won 6 straight in the 145 division. Anyone thinking he needs to fight a top 10 now?
Gastelum is right where I think he should be, testing himself against different mid tier guys. Yeah Story beat the current champ, but that was before Hendricks discovered he has a nuke at the end of his left arm.

OSP with the VON FLUE CHOKE! You don't see one of those everyday. Yeah - I thought it was pretty funny that Joe and Goldie were just chatting away... then all of a sudden "wait, that's it... it's over!!". I thought he was in some trouble - I can't recall anyone being choked-out like that though. |

Yeah and that's why the Von Flue choke is so rare, because it does look like a choke and even at that, lot of people mess it up. I know I have when I roll.

Really enjoyed last nights card.
I felt like Hendricks won, but apparently I was the only one in the bar who thought so. I guess everyone was believing in Hendrick's GSP logic (look at him, then look at me.) Still a very enjoyable fight. I like him & Lawler, so I would of been cool with either as champion.
On a side note, I would like for Nick Diaz to crawl under a bridge & stay there forever. Now he's foaming at the mouth to come back & get a title shot. Just go away & stay away.
I felt bad for Condit. He was down in the fight, but starting to find his stride. His coach said it might be an ACL &/or meniscus tear, so I'm hoping for the best for him.
I'm glad Shields got pounded for 15 minutes. I can't stand his "fighting style." The fact that he wanted a title shot if he won was ridiculous.
