noted earlier, negotiations between TNA and Toby Keith, who was the main person looking to purchase the company, apparently fell through. Jeff Jarrett was expected to be a part of the promotion in a key role if the sale happened, due to his relationship with Keith. Shortly after talks between Keith and TNA fell through, Jarrett announced that he was parting ways with TNA. On tonight's episode of his podcast, which you can listen to at MLW.com, Konnan said that he spoke with Jarrett and that Jarrett will be making an announcement this week about a new project. He said that Jarrett told him that TNA is in really bad shape, and that he doesn't know and doesn't care if they see through the year. Konnan then pretty much stated that Jarrett would be starting a new promotion with Keith. In perhaps an unrelated note, Jim Ross noted on his Twitter last Tuesday that he had a "great meeting with a major sports concern... Could be big...and fun!" He wrote later in the week that he had dinner with Keith and others in New Orleans while he was in town for the Sugar Bowl. A fan mentioned the meeting with Keith and brought up Jeff Jarrett, to which Ross replied: "@jrsbbq: “@judge1979: @jrsbbq Meeting with Toby Keith eh? Maybe him and @jeffjarretttna have an offer you can't refuse? #conspiracytheory” Hmm." Source: www.wrestlinginc.com------------------------------------------------------------- What do you guys think about this? With Keith, Jarrett and Ross, this could be interesting. Anything with J.R. adds legitimacy right off the bat. Also makes me think that Jarrett's leaving isn't a work, and neither is A.J.'s.

Without A LOT of big names and some serious money behind it, it'll never go anywhere.

Without A LOT of big names and some serious money behind it, it'll never go anywhere. Considering Toby Keith was going to buy TNA I'd say he's pretty serious. And Jarrett and Jim Ross are big names to start. I'm sure they could find a lot of guys (and women) to join them.

Maybe not any current WWE stars, but Ross knows talent and I'm willing to bet than some well-known names in wrestling will want to join up. I'd love to see this be successful, and be what TNA was supposed to be: a true alternative to WWE.

Can't see it being anything decent. One of those Country TV channels might run a Toby Keith wrestling show, but it's not going to be drawing the crowds to sustain an actual touring promotion. If anything, it'll be like Hulk Hogan's Celebrity Wrestling, Ring Ka King and Wrestling Society X. Just a TV product.

I'll judge more when Jeff Jarrett makes the official announcement, but my opinion on this is unless they can get a TV deal quick, I don't see it going anywhere more than them doing a couple of shows a month. There's names on the indies that they can use, but they need a couple big names to get started. If J.R. is gonna be involved with this, great for this company.

If they land one, I hope it's a decent network, and one that would invest in the company.

Very interesting.
If Jarrett does start another promotion, he better bring back the 6-sided ring....

If anybody knows talent it's JR. I wonder if AJ Styles is going to be the face of this new company as well. I'm hoping TNA doesn't go down though man Dixie and Hulk really f**ked up if it did.

I do hope that it has the six-sided ring. That would be awesome.
I was a huge supporter of TNA up until around 2010-2011. When Hogan came in, it ruined it for me. I would love to see what TNA would be like today if Hogan never would've joined up, but we'll never know. TNA was never truly promoted right either. Outside of wrestling fans, I doubt very many people know what TNA is. I hope that will change with this company.
I'm just excited to see how this shapes up. It could turn out to be nothing, but I am definitely interested.

I honestly don't know who'd they use. All the good indy talents are signed to ROH or WWN. Gonna be real interesting.

Has anybody else noticed that Konnan has a tendency to reveal people's personal business to the public? I mean this may be news they were ready to release just yet.

I'm interested, and this certainly has my attention if true. I'm guessing these are 3 guys who get the TV deal and marketing aspect of business at this point. JJ has done all of this before too. Hopefully this materializes enough so we can check it out. I think it makes plenty of sense to have AJ Styles be your guy if this gets going pretty quickly. Hey, maybe the American Wolves and Chris Hero are free for some dates.

JR pretty much squashed his involvement in his website blog. It could be a "I'm saying I'm not doing this to throw your off me doing it" but seems like he probably wont be in it.
Really hope this gets off the ground, TNA in the early days where so much more entertaining to me than it is today and another big promotion next to WWE/TNA/ROH would be awesome. Competition too and theres load of free agents or people who would be tempted to jump if this came off.

I don't know how I feel about this. Look on the bright side, maybe Jeff is really leaving and coming back to the E. This is interesting. If it's as good as TNA used to be I am all for it.
