simple as that, thread title says it all.
There are never current figures. Something has to be done about this. Guys looks changes because a figure is out too long after the guy wears said attire. It's frustrating.

Lineups are planned at least 9 months in advance. Jakks didn't take that long but Jakks figures sucked. Someone else probably has a better explanation. Just be glad they make wrestling figures.

I'm sure they do the best they can.

They can't just magic figures into stores the day after someone gets a new outfit. Planning the lineups, designing the figures, sculpting new parts, and distribution takes a long time. But there have been plenty of current figures. Basic John Cenas were current for the last half of 2013. Prime Time Players are pretty current (albeit wrong skintone). Elite 24 Miz is current. Del Rio's figures are current. Undertaker's last two basics are current. Jinder Mahal's newest basic is pretty current. The BOPPV Curtis Axel is pretty current. There are numerous examples of current figures.
But the only way they're going to get figures out faster is by significantly reducing quality and/or significantly increasing price. I prefer the current system over either of those options.

Is this really just another 'whinge whinge, Bray Wyatt will have a different gimmick when his figure is released' thread?

I was going to comment about how you have a Jakks figure as your avatar, but then I realized it was a topless Foley. But, anyway, there's your answer, OP. And for the record, that wasn't even close to a suggestion.

UPDATE! Saw in another thread about NXT stars getting scanned(sorry, don't feel like linking it) and MDT confirmed it was to at least get future call-ups from NXT a figure sooner than later.
While that doesn't necessarily help with updated attires, it almost assures that no other NXT wrestlers have to wait at least a year from their debut on the main roster for a figure, like the one in your avatar, OP.

He should have been out by now btw. lol sure he should. And Daniel Bryan in Wyatt gear should be out next week. "ME WANTY NOW N DON'T UNDERSTAND REALITY!" You are in the minority. These figures need to sell many, many thousands at current prices to be profitable. If they sped up production to a completely unrealistic level, the figures would be astronomically more expensive. And stores aren't going to carry $75 basic figures just because they're only four months behind TV rather than nine or twelve months behind TV. You know why they're not going to carry them? Because nobody would buy them outside of a few Wfigs members.

They already had Bray Wyatt scanned and were working on his figure before he debuted on TV. It still takes almost a year to hit shelves because he uses so many new parts.

I agree with everything you've said in here, except this. Wyatt was an exception in the fact that he needed new parts. The majority of the other guys wouldn't need it. I mean, it's still impossible to get them out immediately, in the right attire, and all that jazz, but we might be able to see guys a little sooner now. Really, what it comes down to is people need to realize Mattel isn't Jakks. They don't just slap a head on the same body. It actually takes true designing, not just paint and a head.

But I still don't see people coming much sooner with the NXT scans anyway. Fandango vignettes started playing last January, and his first figure is just hitting shelves. And I don't think it uses any new parts besides the head -- and they scanned him way back in the Johnny Curtis days when NXT was taping before Smackdown. Big E has been around for years. I think he has a new/unique body mold, though I'm not sure, because the singlet on the figure definitely isn't accurate to Big E's singlet. In theory, a Fandango figure should have been easier/faster to get out than a Big E figure. And yet they're the same series.

Go on... Cause I love it when someone with no toy making experience is telling MATTEL how to do their jobs.

So you think Mattel COULD get them out faster, but they chose not to? How would they benefit from that? You do know it takes time for them to get a prototype, send it for WWE's approval, send it factories.... to be mass produced, right?

Bill and Mattel work their A** es off to give everyone great figures and WWE will continue to have new attires all the time but mattel cant get them out before they dissapear so dont complain because they give us incredibly detailedd figures and Im happy with these figs and so is pretty much everyone else
