Ceremony starts at half 5. Ballon D'or announce at 6:52. Coach of the year is Fergie/Klopp/Heynckes, Puskas award and TOTY being announced too. The TOTY has been leaked as:
Neuer Alves Silva Ramos Lahm Xavi Iniesta Ribery Ronaldo Messi Ibrahimovic
Biased to La Liga once again. Barca 4 players despite losing 7-0 to Bayern and not one Dortmund player despite them being in the CL final. Alves should be replaced by Alaba (Lahm moves to RB), Hummels should replace Ramos and Xavi should make way for Schweinsteiger. I'd also argue that Iniesta should be replaced by Martinez but the other 3 are more obvious.
Anyway, at least Ronaldo should finally win.

CR7 needs too win! He's had the perfect season this year.

>yfw when Messi wins again I lose £20 and have to buy my housemate breakfast if Messi wins. If Ronaldo wins I get £120 and he buys me breakfast. If Ribery wins I come out even because I had a £20 free bet on him at evens. Come on CR7!

Awful TOTY.
Bale should've been a shoo-in after single-handedly bossing the hardest league in the world. Iniesta, Xavi and Alves have done absolutely nothing of note. Even their ratings have gone down on FIFA. Says it all really.

Even their ratings have gone down on FIFA. Says it all really. None of those three had great years but they're still a million years ahead of Sergio Ramos. How he got in the World XI is beggars belief....

Goddamn YES!! Never understood why that overhyped clown called Lionel Messi is considered the greatest right now. CR7 is the man!

Ronaldo 27.99% Messi 24.72% Ribery 23.36% Ibrahimovic 5.29% Neymar 3.17%
Justice done. Really happy for CR7. World XI once again done on reputation not form but oh well.

He's won countless trophies and is regularly in the top goalscorers and top assists every season. He also broke the record for most goals in a year.

He hasn't had a glowing international record but 37 goals in 83 apps is hardly "sucking". Ronaldo's record is only 47 in 109.

Glad Ronaldo won as he massively deserved it over messi who shouldn't have won it half as much as he did, to me anyway. Other than that, couldn't give a flying about team of the year, just another exhibit of English football being ignored/overlooked.

Ronaldo's record is only 47 in 109. I'm not talking about goals/game ratio. To me it's how you play in situations where one man can make the difference between bitter disappointment and ultimate triumph. When has Messi ever scored important goals for Argentina? Where was Messi in the quarterfinals of the World Cup when Germany kicked their ass?

By that logic, if Ronaldo is so great, how come they've only won La Liga once since he joined Madrid?

It's obvious though how Messi is the centerpiece in Barcelona and how well he fits in with their style while in Argentina ... not so much. To get to the point: I just think he's overrated and Ronaldo is by far the better player.

Messi deserved it in 2009. Sneijder 2010 imo. Then Ronaldo 2011, Messi 2012 and Ribery 2013. But because of the way its been done with Messi winning no matter what happened elsewhere then Ronaldo deserved it this year off the same criteria.

And finally, balance was once again restored to the universe... Well kinda, they did up the team and the Puskas award. The 2013 goal of the year was scored in 2012 and presented in 2014. Work that crap out. As for the team of the year... Ugh, where do you start? Who cares, at least the main man won.
