The president of Fox TV said yesterday that the show will predominantly follow a younger Jim Gordon, we'll see origins of the likes of The Joker, Penguin and The Riddler and for some odd reason he said the final episode of the first season, if it gets an order, will show Batman putting on the cape and cowl for the first time. If we have to sit through 22 episodes of a child Bruce Wayne to get a live action Batman series, I'm all for it! Honestly? I cant see it. I suppose we will have to wait and see but why on Earth would WB allow this? Even if Fox did pay mega bucks? like I say I will be pleasantly surprised if true. I don't know but there's obviously an agreement. Maybe Fox reaches a wider audience? It's like the Marvel lego game, that's produced by Warner Bros. Games. I guess these things can be worked out.

Who knows? that's true.....but by the same token they don't seem willing to commit Ra's or Talia to the show. BUT its early days and whats happening on Arrow is impressive. them loosening up can only be good....if they aren't doing it they need to start.

I dont recall ever seeing or hearing of Talia though. Arrow likes to tease things. I think we only got a slight tease of The League. I believe we will see more.

Yeah I know Ra's was only mentioned and Talia hasn't been-its the other lesser known daughter they plan on using. Nyssa is it?

Kevin Smith did a podcast with Paul Dini talking through a hypothetical 'young Bruce Wayne at boarding school' series before this announcement was even made. I was convinced.

Just listened to that last night. I'm pretty sure their TV show would be the greatest thing ever. And while I liked the idea of Hugo Strange in charge, I never really thought there was a giant age gap between him and Bruce. Really, all this Gotham show needs is Paul Dini. The guys Bat-record is flawless.

a Bat Show run by Paul Dini? That concentrates on his formative years in boarding school? Now that I would watch. I still wouldn't want any familiar villainy though.

Just as long as we don't get another X-Men Evolution type dynamic. a Bat Show run by Paul Dini? That concentrates on his formative years in boarding school? Now that I would watch. I still wouldn't want any familiar villainy though. They even go as far as to suggest that they could create villains in the series that eventually end up in the comics later on, like Dini did with Harley Quinn. If you've got a couple hours spare, I'd definitely give the podcast a listen (Episode 51, scammer on Batman).

Id be all for that.....Dini gave us Montoya and Harley and totally rejuvenated the characters of Two Face, Mr Freeze & Clayface. however he still couldn't work his magic on The Riddler!!

-- GOT HAM? SURE I'LL WATCH A COOKING SHOW BASED ON PIG MEAT!
Oh Gotham.... if Adam West plays the grandpa and/or Julie Newmar plays the grandma, I'd might watch!

Though I'd love to see what they could come up with for Hush. Elliot is one of the most underrated characters in my opinion. smodcast.com/episodes/paul-dini-shadow-of-the-bat/There's the podcast for anybody that wants to listen to it. It's absolutely worth it, and hearing Dini and Smith fanboy themselves out is incredibly infectious.

I love Batman. My favorite superhero. But him knowing the villains in middle school is bogus. And I will watch...

same s my own. I KNEW there had to be some catch fro Fox getting a Bat show. The catch is it will suck ten types of ass. Batman didn't know Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, Riddler etc etc etc until he became Batman....because that's just the way it is. sounds like Gotham 90210 to me....
