As big of a fan of Batman I am, doubt I'll end up seeing it due to my large disliking of Superman

Here's a better idea, instead of pushing it back because Aflac (quack quack) injured his leg, how bout just finding a new Batman. Sorry I cannot take Affleck serious as Batman. Its only a matter of time before he drags Matt Damon into another one of his movies this time as Boy Wonder.

Even that long of a delay isn't going to give Ben Afleck time to learn how to act.

If it gives them time to get it right? Then so be it.
However I suspect this is more to do with the massive rewrites etc to accommodate the character additions that WB is said to be demanding. Many said that Nolan kept them from interfering too much in MOS, But as far as I understand Nolan has little or nothing to do with anything past MOS. he said this himself last Summer when he said he was going to be concentrating on Interstellar. I don't know if he is even producer on this is he?
At this point I no longer have any expectations of this movie. Its now officially time to forget anything that was said at last years SDCC- because its all crap. the last few months proved that but this here be the icing on the cake!!

I'm still not sure I understand why we aren't seeing a new Batman film before we see Batman/Superman. The studio seems to be ultra involved in this film, which is never a good thing imo. Too many cooks in the kitchen at WBs. That's why Marvel/Disney has a guy like Joss Whedon. It's a lot easier to sail your ship to land when you have a captain driving the boat who knows where he is going.
The time delay will probably dial down a lot of the negativity surrounding the film, at least for the time being. Maybe they can get it right using the extra time and surprise the hell out of everyone. Either that, or we'll be watching Batman & Robin all over again in 2016, which is largely what this film has felt like to-date imo.

Damn that sucks.
I hope with the extra time they make an awesome movie though.

Good because " even though I haven't seen anything yet Affleck is going to be terrible blah blah blah."

From what I've read theres a high possibility that this is to accommodate for them filming a Justice League movie straight after this one. Frankly I'm super excited for this, and I for one love Affleck and loved him in Daredevil too, but either way this delay sucks but Im still ultra hyped!

They probably don't want to directly clash with Avengers 2, not to mention Jurassic World, Minions, Star Wars, Independence Day, Terminator, Fast 7

I am going into this with an open mind. The Nolan Batman movies gave birth to these pretentious know it all fans who all of a sudden became Batman experts who think any other incarnation of Batman is wrong. I enjoyed the Nolan trilogy, but the character of Batman is a hell of a lot bigger than he is.

I'm actually extremely excited for Affleck's version of Batman (obvious by my username) and while I hold the Nolan Trilogy, particularly the first two movies, in high regard, I think there are some aspects of the character that can be done better and I look forward to the efforts of Batfleck and the team producing the movie.

This is probably a good thing. There is already 158,000 movies coming out summer 2015.

I enjoyed the Nolan trilogy, but the character of Batman is a hell of a lot bigger than he is. it certainly did.....GREAT post. I have NO problem with Affleck as Batman whatsoever. I will judge him on his performance. The same people think Nolan has to be involved with everything DC related to make it work and seem to flat out disbelieve he isn't involved with anything post MOS in any major way. also this isn't being moved to avoid Avengers II(May) or SW 7(December). Its being moved because there are IMO issues with the script. They jumped the gun last year at SDCC announcing anything about this because they clearly had no idea how to proceed....it was kneejerk stuff to try compete with Marvel.
