Maybe TNA should stop running in crapareas that dont draw. You can blame PR, marketing, etc.....and its ALL legit complaints cuz TNA does a poor job of advertising. But advertising is EXPENSIVE. Things like radio, which is a dying source of media BTW and television are VERY, VERY expensive. TNA says they want to grow, but they put the cart ahead of the horse last time and now look at it. Slow down. I honestly believe if TNA had stuck to areas that they have a history of drawing in with their live Impacts....they would still be on the road. Instead, the constantly want to explore new territories like the ing USS Enterprise and they are met with this crap. Growing your company in other areas, requires establishing it in some first. ECW was running just a few venues when it first came to birth. It stayed regional for a reason. And THAT grew their product. THAT is what allowed them to explore other areas and draw bigger crowds b/c word was spreading. With the power of the internet today, a regional company could grow faster. Then again, I saw the lineup for this house show and it looked like shit. They have been running basically the same house show crew for months now.

I don't know what you do for work but it sure isn't in marketing or media. Radio has been "dying" since the invention of television, yet the FCC approved 1500 radio stations last year. So, yeah. Totally dying. Also radio advertisers are typically more than willing to work within budgets. It's not the best medium for a lot of people, but it's not dying like everyone insists. Ok this time, NO ONE can say that this was before the show. This is real sad and someone here said it, I'm surprised they didn't cancel the house show. I wonder how Bobby Roode, James Storm, Samoa Joe, Abyss feels about having to wrestle in front of 200-300 people in house shows instead of going to WWE, even as mid-carders fighting in front of thousands of people in house shows. Reason I mentioned these guys, WWE had an interest in all of them. I know they only ever offered Roode and Storm contracts as a tag team, I don't think they have ever offered Abyss anything, and I am just not sure about Joe.

I think around 2006-2007 they were interested in both of them. I only heard it somewhere in a podcast from years ago.

Source: I work in radio. I agree with you 100% on this. I live in Maryland and had to commute to college this semester, but I don't drive so I caught a ride with my older sister. I usually don't listen to the radio (I use my iPod most of the time) but she does. She listens to probably the most popular radio station in the greater Baltimore area (98 Rock) and I can say on at least two occasions they were promoting wrestling events (I only listened if they mentioned something I found interesting or if my sister and I were talking). The events were ROH and MCW, in which they had Adam Cole and Scott Hall promote. It is TNA's own fault for failing to advertise and if this is their turn out they should start cutting live events as they are probably spending more on traveling than they are on these shows. And for those saying there'll be a better turn out in the UK, while that is true, it is because out of the entire year the UK might get 2-3 tours out of the WWE and TNA combined.

I don't understand why when a promotion has bad attendance they don't move everyone around the ring to atleast make it look like there are people there, instead of letting them stay spread out.

It's sad that in 2006, 2007, even 2008 they were real close to be considered competition for WWE. Then 2010 came with Hogan and a lot of loyal TNA fans were turned off, as you see right now, a lot of the house shows are drawing less than major indy shows do for their big events, their most loyal guy who's was considered an Undertaker/HBK in terms of loyalty left the company. The guy who FOUNDED TNA even resigned for the company. The major reason TNA is in the shape they're in is because of a money mark running the damn company, someone's who not smart to the business would rather listen to the internet before listening to people who would have the best interest in TNA. I remember back in 2005-2006 where I would look forward and get excited as some people do here to watch TNA and now, I watch because it's TNA's only show and because I've got nothing else to do on Thursday nights. Even my older brother who loved TNA and was the person who got me into TNA in the first place asks me why I'm wasting my time watching TNA. I feel so bad for the talent there because there is so much great talent in the ring, but they're being led by a clueless boss. I'll be shocked if in 2015, TNA's still around or not running their very last shows.
Oh BTW for people saying that they run great crowd in the UK, what does that say about TNA? That they can't have great crowds in their own home country? So TNA can only sell out one month out of the year and the rest is crap?

I don't understand why when a promotion has bad attendance they don't move everyone around the ring to atleast make it look like there are people there, instead of letting them stay spread out. You don't remember TNA doing that at Bound for Glory? They moved everyone to the hard camera side then everybody laughed at the fact that the other half of the arena was empty. People are never satisfied. Like everyone says "IDK why TNA doesn't run smaller venues." They ran a gym, and the same people laughed at them for running in a gym. I'm not trying to defend TNA, as I agree its crap lately and their marketing and ideas suck, but some of the hate remarks are getting ridiculous.

Because thinking they should move people in the bleachers at an empty show to the floor and moving everyone on the floor up instead of having them spattered around is such a "hate remark". And notice I didn't even say TNA? I referenced any promotion.

Totally dying. Also radio advertisers are typically more than willing to work within budgets. It's not the best medium for a lot of people, but it's not dying like everyone insists. Source: I work in radio. Actually I have spent YEAR in public relations and marketing. I have run my own business and advised other business owners on marketing strategies. Currently I work in automobile financing, which leads me to the biggest piece of factual information to support my claim. This isnt the "dying since television" as radio still had a place in marketing. Television stole a great deal of the power of radio, but it most certainly did not kill it. Car manufacturers, at least 2, are going to begin to remove AM/FM radios from the line of vehicles starting in 2015 for the 2016 models. One of the manufacturers is GM. According to Radio Ink magazine, the #1 reason.......car buyer's are telling dealerships they dont listen to the radio anymore. With the emergence of satellite radio being complimentary in a new car purchases for 1-2 years, depending on the vehicle, the implementation of Pandora and now Apple has a streaming version, CDs and of course the iPod.....people are listening less and less to the radio....to the point that car manufacturers are feeling more and more comfortable in removing it all together from the vehicles. Lets face it, most people over the last 30 years have spent most of their radio listening in their vehicles....driving to work, on a trip, etc. Nowadays, streaming media, satellite radio, iPods and even still the compact disc remain more viable and more popular an option in vehicle entertainment. I have had a number of customers who have told me they would never have switched to satellite radio if it wasnt for the free trial period of 1-2 years. Once they started listening to satellite...they were hooked. No commercials, wider variety of listening choices, music on demand, ability to replay a song, pause broadcasted music, and not lose a station just b/c of the area you are leaving and entering. People who are against satellite music, most have never even tried it. But its the future. So in conclusion, I stand by my statement. Radio IS a dying form of advertisement. People are NOT listening to radio like they did 10 years ago. This isnt like the dawn of television. Television cannot be watched while driving a vehicle, where the majority of listening occurs. Oh and BTW, not only have I looked into radio advertising.....I used to work for a major radio station in my area. I have a good knowledge of the industry and its pros and cons. Will radio stations work with potential clients on flexing the price? Absolutely. But when you analyze the ROI....return on investment....you will see what many do.....its not cost effective in a dying medium. I don't understand why when a promotion has bad attendance they don't move everyone around the ring to atleast make it look like there are people there, instead of letting them stay spread out. I'm not trying to defend TNA, as I agree its crap lately and their marketing and ideas suck, but some of the hate remarks are getting ridiculous. Moving people to make it look more full is standard practice in wrestling. But you ONLY do it for television. If its a house show, who cares. Its a lot of trouble to do so. I have been moved SEVERAL times at WWE events. And I am usually compensated for the inconvenience with tickets to another event, a tshirt from the merch stand, etc. People act like this is some horrific and foreign occurence, when its standard operating procedure.

What's insane to think about is some random indy promotion could book the likes of Tommy Dreamer, Sunny, & Matt Hardy & outdraw that.

TNA shows in the UK are very full so wait for the crowds then. Drawing well three weeks out of the year in the UK doesn't change the fact they don't draw anywhere else.

What's insane to think about is some random indy promotion could book the likes of Tommy Dreamer, Sunny, & Matt Hardy & outdraw that. The one thing you have to remember about your local indys is that a good deal of their crowd is filled with family members, friends, sponsors and comps. So indy promoters who scream from high heaven that they are outdrawing TNA arent making the gate TNA does. Also the local indy promoters also have an established presence. So because of TNA's lack of marketing, you get those "main stream fans" who only know of WWE and their local fed. They have either never heard of TNA or dont know enough about it. That being said, I have seen a lot of local indy feds who do advertise their product better. They take advantage of cheap forms of advertising, which can still be effective. Putting up posters around town, local fire halls, etc....passing out flyers out at other local indy events....going to a TNA or WWE show and passing out flyers....and even contests.
