Just read a tweet from my buddy at the nxt show, WWE officials have asked the crowd to stop chanting CM Punk That's honestly pathetic. They paid money to do what they want. Fix your problems or as Batista says "deal with it."

Punk could have done it the past two years No, he couldn't. At no point in the last two years was CM Punk ever a bigger star than John Cena and The Rock.

When it comes down to it, Punk will never be the #1 guy in the WWE because of situations like this. Despite Punk's popularity, skills, work ethic - it all comes down to the guy who's gonna wave that fn flag the proudest and longest no matter how burnt out or frustrated they are in life. The machine has never wholeheartedly gotten behind Punk i.e TRUSTING him to main event PPVs because John Cena is the company guy that WWE can trust wholeheartedly.

Punk shouldn't have closed Mania 28 because Rock vs Cena was a monster match. That being said, Rock vs Cena shouldn't of happened twice. I think Punk vs Rock at Mania 29 would have done the same buyrate. Then we could have seen Cena vs Taker, which would have been great to get and extremely believable in terms of threatening the streak. If Punk gets his main event at Mania last year then he would have been much happier going into his match with Taker, which could of happened this year.
Punk vs Rock Cena vs Taker
Sells the exact same amount of PPVs imo and Rock could have ended Punk's reign of terror at Mania in front of the World, when everyone was paying attention.

How is Punk saying he has to wait and see if the Network is a good or bad thing negative publicity? He stated that he is unsure, he didn't say that it is going to fail or succeed, he said he would have to wait and find out. He said he didn't like the fact the Rock and others were coming back part time because he had a proverbial glass ceiling put in front of him when that happened, he didn't say it wasn't a good business move. It be like a telling someone "yeah, people already like Bob so we are going to give him the promotion even though he was less experience and will work about 1/64 the amount you do without giving you a chance because we don't feel like giving you a chance." It'd be like if Vince told Austin at the beginning of 1998 or Triple H at the beginnig of 2002 that, "yeah we are going to be letting Hogan main event WM and work part time because he is more popular right now." Why do you think women these days still end up packing up and going home? Because they are told that the company would rather take it safe (or the the women shouldn't work crap) and go with the less experience, not as hard working male counterpart. If you weren't there how do you know that the rumors you heard were accurate? And when you only go off of the info the dirtsheets put out, you are forming an opinion off an assumption, and what is the saying about the assumptions? It makes an a** at of you and me. Its not that part being the issue. Its the part after claiming it will all depend based on his royalty check. You dont do something like that. This is common sense. So for those who keep saying it aint about money.....clearly it is. I'm not "going off dirtsheets or making assumptions." My response is to THIS thread which based on a dirt sheet post. You make it sound like I am saying the dirt sheet is posting facts. Some might be. Some might not. I have said this numerous times. But THIS thread is a discussion based on the information being reported, not a discussion on how factual the dirt sheet report is. You are confused on this point. If you want to discuss facts in a dirt sheet report, feel free too. But you are engaging with me over something completely different and then twisting words to try and support an argument that I am not having with you because that is not the discussion point. And speaking of royalty checks, that its clear Punk does care about, his WM bonus was considerably larger BECAUSE The Rock came back. Your analogies dont work. The Austin/HHH vs. Hogan is the same as Austin/HHH vs. Brooklyn Brawler. If Hogan, Brawler, Rock...whoever is going to sell more PPVs, sell out arenas, make this company MORE MONEY than Austin, HHH, Punk or whoever....then YES, YES, YES...that person deserves that spot. This is a BUSINESS! You fail to see that. You also fail to see how Punk is screwing you the fan over. You haven't provided any source to any of those claim and if you looked through the thread you would've notice I said let's wait and see what happens before making any rash comments. I am not blaming anybody but I understand why Punk would be angry with part time guys winning all the damn time. If you looked at the WM buyrate from 26 to 28 it went up almost 400,000 buys, but from 28 to 29 it drop over 250,000 buys. To the money situation, would you do your job for free or take a substantial pay cut? Also, are you saying you would've rather had Hogan main event WM 14 than Austin? Because up until than WCW was beating the WWF but after, not so much.

Punk could have done it the past two years No, he couldn't. At no point in the last two years was CM Punk ever a bigger star than John Cena and The Rock. The buyrate from WM 29 was down a 1/4 million buys from 28, he sure could have done it then or have just been in the match.

If we're going down the route of no Cena/Rock II personally i would've had Punk lose the WWE Championship to Cena in the Main Event. That way Cena finally beats Punk in a big match on the biggest show of the year.

No, he couldn't. At no point in the last two years was CM Punk ever a bigger star than John Cena and The Rock. He must have been something considering he outsold Cena in merchandise. He had a t-shirt that briefly outsold Cena's shirt that had already been out for months. It's impressive in the sense that nobody else had ever done that in years, but it doesn't put him ahead of John Cena vs The Rock for a WrestleMania 28 main event.

Raw in Chicago is going to be ing brutal. The only way something doesn't go wrong or someone doesn't break character to berate the crowd is if this is a work and he returns that night. Otherwise move over Daniel Bryan because CM Punk chants will be hijacking that show. End of story.

If I'm an outsider looking in (as in someone who doesn't follow wrestling at all) and I'm reading all of the coverage this week from various media outlets, it paints a pretty horrible picture for WWE as a company. Justified or not, they're just getting slammed this week.
If you're them, you've got to be hoping that the phrase "any press is good press" holds true.
If this continues to spread, the crowds are going to completely hijack the show.

It blows my mind that anyone can look at this situation from an outsider's perspective and consider it to be a work. Unlike any other storyline produced by the WWE for quite some time, this is actually interesting. Let me start out by saying I am a huge fan of both the WWE and these boards, as I have been an outsider looking in for quite some time. However, with the amount of turmoil and chaos that has taken place this week in regards to the current state of the WWE, I couldn't help but voice my opinion. I legitimately believe CM Punk's walkout was the result of built up frustration based upon the direction of his character, bitterness with his placement on the card and resentment towards his peers (i.e. Daniel Bryan, Batista, Randy Orton). Based off his interviews and documentary alone, you can tell how passionate he is about this business. He is not involved with the WWE at this point in his career for the money, it's simply because he envisions himself closing the show at Wrestlemania. I strongly believe that because of Batista's return and the attention the Yes Movement has attracted, CM Punk has taken even more of a back seat than he already has; in regards to the Wrestlemania build up. We are all aware that the only goal Punk has yet to obtain is becoming the main event at Wrestlemania. Not a match with HHH, not a rematch with Undertaker, but the last match on the card this year. Although I believe he may have deserved that spot in the past, he certainly does not deserve it this year. In fact, if he was even granted that position on the card, who's to say Punk would have resigned with the company when his contract expires in July? At that point, he would have accomplished his every goal and there would be nothing to keep him to stay (similar to the way Brock Lesnar initially left in 2004). It was wise of both VKM and HHH to keep Punk away from closing the show this year because he has yet to resign a new contract! Although I agree with Punk that a match with HHH is not Wrestlemania material for the direction of his character at this time (it better suits Daniel Bryan) I do not believe he deserved to main event Wrestlemania this year, which is what I solely believe was his reason for leaving: he was disappointed with his placement in the company and on the card.

I see this issue being the fault of both parties.
WWE has done nothing with Punk since WrestleMania 29. He feuded with Lesnar, lost and then had a long drawn out forgetful feud with Heyman/Axel/Ryback. I mean not even a rematch with Lesnar? Come on man!
Yet while I do not blame Punk for his super downgrade on the spot of the card, unless its written in your contract you are not guaranteed the main event of WrestleMania. Bottom line is he is not a bigger draw than Rock and it was obvious Cena/Rock was planned for 2 matches.
I feel for him with the resentment towards part timers because it is total bs. But I feel like him feuding with HHH would have been a more featured match on Mania than Orton/Batista even if it goes on last.
The real shame here is that he kinda screwed the fans over and the company is in disaster mode (which I hope is a wake up call). If anybody should be mad its Daniel Bryan, this guy deserved the main event match for the title and honestly, if he does not leave NOLA with the title (and unfortunately he wont) it is the biggest missed opportunity in WM history, even bigger than Flair/Hogan; Austin/Hogan, etc......
This year should have been the year of transition with the future going over on all aspects of Mania. The lack of new legitimate STARS is scary. I dont think Cena/Orton will be around much longer and all the other part timers either......I feel like its now or never and the WWE is playing chicken on the creation of now stars.
Complacency does not guarantee a healthy future gentlemen

In the simplest way I can put it: I respect his decision, I just dont like the way he handled it. (If all dirtsheets are true)

To the money situation, would you do your job for free or take a substantial pay cut? Also, are you saying you would've rather had Hogan main event WM 14 than Austin? Because up until than WCW was beating the WWF but after, not so much. What the hell are you talking about? This thread has a topic. That topic is, whether factual or not is irrelevant. Stop trying to shoot down the rumors. We got it. And you might be right....but thats not what is being discussed. You are attacking posts that are on topic. WM buy rate went up 400,000 from 26 to 28. Ok. You then cite that from 29 to 28, it went down 250,000 buys. What you fail to acknowledge is that a WM not headlined by The Rock in 26 still did 150,000 LESS buys than one that WAS headlined by The Rock. 29 was going to suffer. 28 truly had a once in a lifetime match that they tried to recreate with 29. It wasnt going to happen. It was also much more predictable than 28. With all that predictability....it still drew 150,000 more PPV buys than WM 26. Proving The Rock draws about 10.5 million more than the rest of the WWE roster. THATS what The Rock is worth....on his worse day. What does my job have to do with being a WWE superstar? What I mean is I dont understand your question. In addition because of the tremendous buy rates of the previous 2 WMs....Punk was making MORE money than he did for 26. Each WWE contract comes with an incentive clause for WM. The buy rate is a win for The Rock, the company AND CM Punk. He didnt work for free nor did he take ANY pay cut. I'm not saying I would have wanted Hogan main eventing over Austin. But if I was Vince McMahon and Hogan=10.5 million more dollars to headline WM 14 over Austin.....OF COURSE Hogan is gonna headline WM 14. Its a no brainer. Its a business. If Austin was so great, he would be drawing me more money. He isnt...thus I go with Hogan. Exactly. Its no slight on Punk either. But Cena sits atop of WWE because of his ability to whore merchandise out. Punk does very well in that department, but not Cena level.
