If my stores actually kept a good stock of WWE figures I'd prefer that, but I hate hitting up like 6 or 7 places and finding nothing worth while. I've gotten to the point where I'd rather drop the extra cash and know that I'm getting what I want off RSC rather than spending hours hunting and finding 10 month old basics, and repacks... With other lines like T-formers, I've been successful with store hunting so mostly I go that route. Yea, I'm pretty much with this guy.... I much prefer buying my figures at a store, but the amount of time I spend going to stores and coming home empty-handed is becoming absurd.... this is my biggest disappointment about the Mattel era. I honestly don't understand how these stores allow their shelves to sit empty day after day after day.... this has been the Elite shelf at Target for over a week; I just can't believe the retailers have no issue that they're out of product so frequently.

I go the online route if I can get a great deal and it is very convenient to do it. I was only planning on buying Trish and Bruno from Elite 24 and 25 but because of some amazing deals online I was able to get all of Elite 24 plus a couple extra Trish's and most of Elite 25 for less than 10 bucks a Elite figure. If I see them at the store before I see them online I will buy because I'm a MOC collector and going the online route doesnt always net you the greatest boxes in the world.

it's not really a hunt in stores for me now I always go the Smyths ere in the UK and their website always tells you what they've got and when, but i still usually shop online to avoid the judgmental looks for buying wrestling figures, as i usually am able to find them close to retail anyway. I'ts worth that bit extra though sometimes.
Only problem is i get moaned at by my dad for buying them when they're delivered, but at least i don't have to interact with the general public then though.

As a rule, I'll never pay more than retail for figures. I just can't stand to do it.

Stores if it is convenient. Love finding something in store I actually want. I've probably purchased more on ebay/rsc recently to fill gaps in my legends collection.

This year mark's my twentieth year of collecting wrestling figures. For me "the hunt" has become boring. I don't buy online unless there's a sale. As other's have pointed out, Walmart, Target, TRU, etc., rarely stock new Mattels. To me, we're stuck in the "The Boring World That is Mattel" era. Can't collect it if you can't find it.

By far I prefer hunting figures down in-store, but if there's a figure I want bad enough (E27 RVD, for example) I will pre-order through RSC. It's worth paying a premium to have it months before that wave will hit retail.

Great question. I prefer in store by a lot, but getting a figure online and waiting for it to come in is a whole other experience.

My Target looks much the same. Mostly empty pegs with I believe a Cody Rhodes, HHH, and a Jinder Mahal from the newer Basic series. I'm assuming they are just waiting for the aisle reset.

I enjoy the hunt in the store even though availability we won't ever get everything and condition is easy to view in store when buying. I hate buyin online and get a fig that has a huge crease in it or something.

I hate buyin online and get a fig that has a huge crease in it or something. That's another factor for me preferring in-store. I'm not an MOC collector, so I don't care about the packaging, but being able to inspect multiple figures and getting the figure with the best paint job, non-warped joints, etc. is something I can't do buying online.

I'm all about store hunting. Especially since I live in a tourist area and I find everything at retail. There's only 2 figures I've never seen at any store and that DM Bret Hart and Legends Kevin Von Erich. I try not to buy from RSC cause of there jacked up prices but I have 4 figures from them during a sale. Exclusive Jakks Tazz, USA Sting, Pink Bret Hart, and exclusive Brock Lesnar.

Personally I mostly always hunt in stores. Just more cost efficient. If I REALLY want one, I will sometimes preorder.

Going to stores is awful. Driving around and only finding disappointment. I do it sometimes but I prefer online.

I buy pretty much all my figures in store. The only RSC figures I have are the ones I got for christmas.
