I purchased 2 each of Arn and Tully for the figures the belts were just gravy. But I still would have purchased 2 of each even if they didn't have title belts because they were a great team I enjoyed watching. And if they were selling 4 belt for $50 after the one or two collectors in your area purchased them the rest would pegwarm for ever. And most parents don't want to spend $30 + for two elites do you really think they'd spend $50 on 4 small belts without any figure? Never happen.

How many Arn Anderson figures would you have bought if you already had the two belts from a belt pack, perfectlyrude? I would've bought one. So that's two less figures sold already. This should already have been obvious to you. That's the whole point of adding accessories to a toy. Splitting off the accessories as their own thing is dumb on two levels: One, the accessory pack is completely ignored by the casual buyer. Two, it means less figures sell to belt fans. This is why this has not been done by Mattel. This is also why Jakks stopped doing it years and years ago. As soon as wrestling got cold enough that people wouldn't just buy anything with a WWF logo on anymore, Jakks had to stop pumping out packs of turnbuckles and belts.

Next Manufactured’s Sweater I'm curious how many Arn's RSC sold for $25 + plus shipping just bc people NEED that classic tag belt!?! and that's $25 people are paying just to get ONE belt and then re-selling the actual Arn fig online. Anyone buying off of RSC is a collector and not Mattel's main market. They are a multi-billion dollar conglomerate that specializes in a product that is targeted at children. While MDT does their best to cater to us, the collectors, they can't pretend that WF is the majority of their sales; we are a niche market and they know it. If they were a much smaller company making designer toys, then sure, but they aren't. The fact that even a single Flashback was made after the multiple attempts of Legends failed is proof they recognize us at all, and the fact that they continue it is proof they care. The reason why there are so many Arn Andersons available for us to buy two for the belt is because Legends don't sell, proving that the adult collector doesn't make a big enough impact to make it financially reasonable. This applies to anything that would be for collectors, from a Legends line to a belt pack, even down to things that were constants with Jakks like accessory packs. You have to keep in mind that Jakks is, at best, 1/8 the size of Mattel, meaning their production lines can cater to smaller groups. Right now, Mattel is clocked in as 6.2 billion revenue (after a severe drop during the holiday season) while Jakks is at 804.3 million. Because of this, Jakks, by default, goes for niche groups while Mattel has to go for wider audiences to continue their success as well as keep their shareholders happy and their employees employed.

Why are so many people making Suggestion threads here when there's a whole board just for Mattel suggestions?

Don't know where people are getting these figures from as it pertains to what it would cost to make them and what they'd have to sell for. No way they'd sell for 10 bucks individually but they can afford to have it be an accessory that they include with a figure they charge 17 bucks for. That would imply that they could afford to sell elite figures for 7 bucks with no accessories. Doesn't sound realistic...

It would only be worth buying if it came with belts that were never released

I love the elite belts but I wouldn't pay 50 for a few of them. I would rather get a figure, like Kelly Kelly, with the elite belt and have both figure and belt instead of just the belt.

considering the fact that some people buy 3 or 4 of a figure just for the accessory or belt for example the rsc exclusive brock or even elite 22 rock

All of the above, plus the fact that most of them would be stolen right out of the package.

Yup, It sucks. At mine, almost all the Ziggler's and Barrett's have been gutted of the WHC and IC Belts.

Yeah, probably. Especially considering that the people that are taking the belts are just selling them anyway. I don't really see collector's being the ones taking the belts from 4 out of 6 packages. I see what they are saying above too though, that the belts are there as incentive to buy figures that would otherwise be shelfwarmers. The only reason I buy all the damn Cena figs that get released at TRU is because he comes with the Belts.

Painted belt packs as an RSC exclusive would sell. Even if it was a pack with belts that have already been released, Elite collectors would want back up belts just to have them; Basic-only collectors would buy the belts just to replace the crappy looking standard-issue belts that Mattel puts out. Mattel's $10-each price prediction seems steep, but people would pay it, because it's not that steep. Once a belt is made, it is made. Making more of the same is cheaper; even the painted vacu-belts have to be mass produced for Mattel to make a profit.
