Also, because a good portion of the roster are tenured vets of this place, when you're down on numbers and a newcomer walks in and wants to see about getting their feet wet, there's no real way to ease them into it if this is their first rodeo. Right now, the system for newcomers operates, at best, because we've seen a recent influx of new folks, most of which have already given up, some who've stuck around, and some who still have yet to put out their first effort, so there's a little wiggle room. Problem is, if tomorrow your most novice guy on the roster is Kyle Matthews (no offense, brother - just the breaks), and your talent level only increases from there, and Johnny Come Lately posts his profile and gets booked on the next card, and has never ever ever done this sort of thing before, and comes built in with the AFR/WF genetic thin skin, and Matthews crushes him, he's gonna get pretty discouraged pretty quickly. The odds of Johnny Come Lately sticking around the next card have just drastically decreased.
So maybe then it becomes a little more difficult to walk away. I'd argue, for all the complaints, fights, and what have you, most of us, at the end of the day, like this little corner of the board. Sh*t, I know I do. That's why I'm not just saddling up to head long and hot foot even though I'm not bothering to write anymore - this sh*t's like the Truman Show, man. Odds of it ending are really slim - it'll go through rough patches, but I wanna see what happens next. I wanna see Kyle Matthews wake up tomorrow and realize he's in the main event against two guys that are being handed the top rung of tomorrow's ladder and see him put out the god damn piece of his life. I wanna see what happens when Dex has to go toe to toe with some real World Champ level writers to defend that title.
As for not writing anymore? Well, some of you guys made that decision too easy. Hahaha.
F*ck you, I'm SYE.

My laptop screen has this flickering issue and is messed up.
Luckily, I got to use my mom's laptop for now.
Time to get busy!

You know who I'm bummed on the up and disappearance of? Cam Nitta. I remember when he signed up, just being really, really excited about his debut. Truth be told, if he wasn't involved, I'd have never written the Abe Vigoda Cup match, let alone the ending that I did, but when it became pretty clear that he was going to be the winner, I wanted to put him over with this finish that would stick out. I like to think I accomplished that. Who among is can say that we debuted and had Abe Vigoda count the three and raise our hands in victory. Return to form, Cam. You were one of the good ones. Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois stole my soul. In addition to servin my country in the Air Force and such. (ROTC Cadet) But next year is when I actually die. Like, my body doesn't have a soul now, but next year I'll basically be exorcised.

Seriously when I hit the point that I simply don't have time to do this anymore, and I feel that even with my time management skills I'm edging towards that point slowly but surely, then I'll just walk away without any fuss.

Thinking of joining WFWF, just want to make sure I understand how it works if any of you guys can help with a couple of questions I have.
You create a profile for your character, when a show is coming up you go to roll call & sign up for it. After the card has been made you post your RP. The owners vote on who will win & the matches are written. Did I understand correctly or am I missing something? Also, i noticed on the thread where the card is listed you have a deadline for your RP & for your Promo, what's the difference between an RP & a Promo? Who writes the matches & the results?

Yeah you've got it right you don't need to sign-up multiple times, only once on the roll call for the owners to sign you up for the upcoming shows. A RP stands for Role-Play, it's basically your characters life. But the RP usually ties in correlation with the story-lines in the federation. You can really take creative freedom with RP's, it's really limitless. A Promo are segments written for the show, they aren't mandatory but can help progress feuds and rivalry's you set up with others. Usually the matches/results are a collective effort and are open to just about everyone, when you write a match you write two endings so that the owner's/voting committee decide on who wins. The results are almost always posted by the owner, so that just about covers it. If you have any more questions just send them my way via PM. Hope you join man.

You create your profile and then sign the roll call. This is to show you actually read the directions and that you're active. As you can see, when you're no longer active, you're supposed to unsign the roll call so you're no longer booked.
The card will go out about once a month telling you who you're facing. You post your roleplay against them on the main board sometime before the roleplay deadline.
The promo deadline is for promos inside of the show, stuff that advances storylines inside of the federation.
Matches are written by both the owners and a variety of match writers. The results are pieced together by the owners

Dex and Ash said it better than me, as owner, could have possibly said it. Hope to see you here. We love new people.

So, after reading the comments on my last RP, I'm going to take some advice I was given and take a leave of absence. I don't know for how long, but yeah.

Take the criticism and just try harder next time. That is all. Also, whoever plays Mak Cross, please message me!

Aw, f*ck. I did it again.
I said what I said 'cause Cam's heart clearly wasn't in it. By his own admission, school and his ROTC sh*t is taking the front seat. That's fine. Life first, fantasy wrestling second. If he wants to stick around and gel in the tide pool, cool. I think Cam is capable of so much more, and it's a disservice to his opponents and his own taken to put out lesser quality work week to week just to avoid getting the boot.

Take the criticism and just try harder next time. That is all. Also, whoever plays Mak Cross, please message me! On a completely different topic, I was looking over the most recent card and I just don't get why people can't walk away from this. If you know you don't have the creative energy to dedicate to this and perform at a level that you're comfortable with.. If you don't have enough time to put forth week after week roleplays.. If you just don't want to do it any more, then for everyone's sake walk away. I don't think anyone will argue that I was at "the top of my game" when I left a little over a year ago and was the feature of the federation. But the fact is, I was burnt out creatively and had nothing left in the tank. Since then, my real life has changed a lot and I have very little free time, so while I have some creative energy and can dedicate some of it to the federation, I have so little time to actually apply it that I still can't say "yes, I am an active roleplayer, book me every show". I know a show is only once a month and I know what's expected of me as a roleplayer. I know the time it takes for me to write a quality roleplay and all these things considered, I know shouldn't be an active roleplayer right now. From the top of the card to the bottom of the card, why isn't this a common ideology and separation between person and character? There is a 12 hour gap between these two messages.

Mak Cross will probably show. He's pretty tenured here. You don't have another Mason Dixon on your hands here. Not everyone has all the expendable time in the world to meander around here in between shows (or nothing better to do like certain alcoholic writers of alcoholics).
