What's the payout for CM Punk having a month off? He'll be that much hotter when he comes back which will boost sales of the network and ppv for those without the network The idea that CM Punk would somehow boost sales of the network by returning seems insane to me.

This will be the first Raw I'll watch live in a very long time. It'll be fun to watch.

Play CM Punk's theme music, five seconds in "I'm afraid I have some bad news!" Please do it WWE, Make Barrett a top heel! If Punk really is gone, then this is the way to handle it. Hands down. At least give someone some mega heat out of the situation. Hell do it tonight on RAW and let Punk come back in 2 weeks to handle it in chicago if this is all a work. I just think the idea is brilliant and, quite frankly, probably the only worthwhile thing that can be done with Barretts gimmick to get him over.

the chances of this being a work ended when they didn't mention him after that initial raw. i can see him returning in 2015 part time but he really ed up by leaving, i don't think he'll ever main event a wrestlemania by any shot now.

the chances of this being a work ended when they didn't mention him after that initial raw. Why would you say that? That's what they did last time. So they would have to do something different to make it believable this time. If he really walked the WWE would have completely but ties with him and pulled his merch. But I they added a shirt and hat since he supposedly walked. If he really walked they would have to play hardball with him because if they didn't what would stop Bryan, Orton, Cena or anyone else to just walk when they wanted a better contract or felt like they were be used correctly? The WWE couldn't survive if that were the case. So if Punk walked the would have cut all ties with him until he came crawling back on their terms. That is the way I look at it.

That is the way I look at it. because at this point it is simply too elaborate in my opinion. the wwe spoon feeds us every story line, and then it's beaten into our heads 5 times over that raw let alone the 20 times they'll mention an incident within a week. if this was a work they'd have at least had punk talk, what good is him being silent possible helping with it if it was a work? it makes no sense from a marketing perspective to completely ignore the scenario if it was work - they would be trying to BUILD it.

If Punk is legitimately gone, all WWE will do is turn off the house microphones in Chicago. Problem solved. I feel like they have already been playing with the sound levels. I really don't think it's a work with Punk being gone at this point, but I'd be more than happy to be wrong.

Regardless of whether he's gone for real or it's a work, all I know is that it'll be quite interesting to watch.

But I they added a shirt and hat since he supposedly walked. They wouldn't pull merchandise that was already made -- but they have instructed third-party licensees to replace Punk with Randy Orton on the school folders, calendars etc. And they have offered refunds for CM Punk Axxess tickets. Let alone run house shows that he was advertised on and no-showed, thus creating potential bad blood with paying customers. All of this for a storyline that would do absolutely nothing for business and isn't even on the radar of anyone except hardcore fans who follow wrestling on the internet (ie those of us who are either already going to buy the network or ignore it either way).

If CM Punk makes his return then? Publicity! If the crowd hijacks? Publicity! Either way is good for WWE.
All publicity is good publicity and if nothing else the WWE has got a shedload of publicity since punk "bailed"...
Its had us all talking, all the blogs giving their 2cents (for what its worth)...2cents. This is a work and it's epic they had to go elaborate to sell this and why? Because we have seen it all before..
