You don't just go in and pick whatever you want off the shelf, you know.... The first time I saw that advertised at my local comic shop, I was 13. I walked in, they welcomed me to free comic book day. I saw all these people picking up books and thought....I really get whatever I want for free. I walked down the aisle of new releases and grabbed 1 of almost everything. I saw the bags they had and I asked someone about it and grabbed a bag. I put my new comics in the bag and then grabbed a second cuz my first was too big. I attempted to walk out the store after I was done and WHAM! Got stopped by the store manager. He was none too happy. I explained that today is Free Comic Book day.....and he explained how I was confused and walked me over to the table in the back, explaining how it worked. Since then, I rarely go on Free Comic Book day and when I do its just to get the coupon they give out for 20% off your next entire purchase after Free Comic Book Day. The lines are crazy over, for the most part, poor selection of comics. |

I only want the new Megaman X comic that's coming out, but I'm not sure waiting in line surrounded by people is worth it for just the one comic. I'll
probably just have my brother pick it up for me.

Last year I got pretty much everything I wanted, Walking Dead, Superman, and Steampunk Oz I think off the top of my head. I have 4-5 stores within a half hour radius, so I hit them all up and dig through their boxes a bit and just have some fun with the day. People are crazy though, like they are giving away winning lottery tickets haha.
For this year, I know for sure I'll be grabbing the Guardians of the Galaxy book. That's about the only thing I've seen so far that I even want to check out. Still a bit to go though, so something else will probably pop up. Not sure if Eastman is doing something for Turtles, but I'd grab that and Walking Dead if we get another one of those this year.
