BWR Desolation comes live from the Phones4U Arena in Manchester, England! What to expect:
*Wade Barrett defends his World Heavyweight Title against Edge *The Undertaker and Christian meet in a Buried Alive match *The British Title and £100,000 are at stake as Umaga takes on Tommy Dreamer *Johnny Nitro and Monty Brown meet in a grudge match *Chris Jericho and Randy Orton settle their differences www.thebwr.com/desolation/desolation1.htmlPart 1 - 15MB Part 2 - 12MB Part 3 - 15MB Part 4 - 17MB Part 5 - 17MB PLEASE REPLY WITH SOME FEEDBACK IF YOU VIEW THE SHOW! It has been a long time coming, what with Christmas, Figamania, the Pic Fed Awards and everything else, but I hope it's worth it. Apologies for any blurry pics that are in there! Be patient while each segment loads, as they are bigger files than normal due to the bigger pic size.

Some feedback... I'll do a complete analysis of the show as I watch it. I'll put my key pros and cons at the end so you don't have to read it all if you don't want to: Alright! BWR. Have only seen one of your shows before and already I am intrigued with your Buried Alive setup. The commentary team's pretty good. I love your entrance stage. Okay, first gripe. JR says "Orton gets this capacity crowd on their feet" I don't see a crowd... at all. Not even printouts. Not too major but it adds to the feel of the show, having no crowd makes it seem like they're putting on a show in an empty arena. Orton's entrance is okay. You did the best posing you could with jakks figures. Heck, you couldn't do much better with mattels. I like the entrance pyro for Jericho. Would've been cool if you did the countdown since you actually can with a flash animation. It's a good match so far, another gripe is the commentators rarely respond to eachother. J.R. was such a great commentator because he was playing off of King and called the matches well. Would like to see some "playing off" here. Okay, nevermind. They started talking to eachother. I like the Ms. Orton Comment. "The real focus of our attention" Well that was short-lived. I take back my statement. Commentary is fine. He had to win the heel way, eh? Oh well. It was an okay beginning match. This is a heel vs heel feud, right? Orton rko'd Jericho after the match and Jericho won illegally. Monty Vs Nitro I'm assuming Monty got a concussion from Paul Burchill. I like the custom (did they make a monty brown figure?) The interview was cool. I wish he was fighting against Paul Burchill instead since it'd further the feud (or was figamania the end of it?) Kinda like "You gave me a concussion, now it's payback time" grudge match. Oh my god...Simon Dean... I wouldn't be surprised if this is the only pic fed he's in. His role of a doctor kinda makes sense. Time for Monty vs Nitro. Okay, I'm confused. If Monty put Nitro's girlfriend through a table on Shatter, but that was before Figamania, why didn't they just have the payback match at Figamania? Or did they and Paul Burchill interfered? Or by "Fake pirate" did you mean Nitro? I'm sorry. I'll go quickly check it out now. Okay, so Monty interfered in the Burchill match and I guess Katie Lea was Nitro's girlfriend. I'm guessing Figamania was the end of their feud but it could've went on more than for two shows and it would've made more sense for this to maybe be a rematch against Paul and have Nitro interfere. Alright. It all makes sense now. Burchill is in the hospital. But how did he give Monty a concussion but still get injured enough to be in the hospital? Okay, I guess kayfabe wise Figamania and Desolation are a week apart. I stick to what I said. It should've been Burchill in this match. Back to the current show: Nitro vs Monty Brown was short and I really have little reason to care for it. Dreamer vs Tommy's fighting Umaga for a title? This should be good. I assume RVD was injured since he's wearing a cast. For the British title? 100,000 euros? Jebus. That's an awesome incentive to winning the belt. Wait, what? Tommy's fighting Paul Burchill? That's an error you should fix, as he's handing Stevie the briefcase. Were you originally planning for him to fight Paul? Cause that would've been nonsensical. Dreamer's a heel too? Really? He seemed so nice when talking to RVD. This match really disapointed me. It was as long as a baby's d**k when you could've had some great hardcore spots. I salute RVD for attacking Tommy, but seriously, WHO'S THE HEEL? Is it Tommy for sneak attacking Umaga and Estrada, or is it RVD for turning on his friend? Jeez this is confusing.. Acording to J.R. RVD is the heel. I'm sorry, but most of these matches have been not too good. Too short and with no history besides "Tommy fights Umaga for the title because he won a briefcase" at least I'm assuming. Heck, I can't even tell who the heels and who the faces are. Christian vs Taker Undertaker vs Christian, hopefully this is better than the last 3 matches. I just noticed the music, it's a nice touch. I'll probably use flash to archive my BDW shows when I run out of room on the website. I can see Christian wanting to beat Taker, but I'd think he'd fight Shawn first. You don't go from Ultimate Warrior, to Marty Jannetty, to Bret Hart, and then to Undertaker. Did he call out Undertaker or anything? Cause that'd be cool. I'm guessing not because JR said "since it was announced" This match was the best so far, I didn't delve deep into it since I assumed you weren't going to read this far. Christian acted perfectly as a heel, and I guess Edge is a heel too. I liked the after match encounter. The main event, already? Barrett vs Edge I quickly looked back to see if they had any history and I saw "Will RVD forgive Tommy Dreamer?" under a picture of Umaga and Estrada. I'm guessing Tommy is a heel. How come J.R. would scold him though for turning on him even though he's a heel? Anyway, back to the subject, these two have no history. Barrett's primary feud so far has been with DH Smith. These guys should've been involved with the British title, not Tommy and Umaga. And with the bad finish. Okay, Jericho vs Orton had a screwy finish. Christian Vs Taker, another screwy finish. And the main event? The match we should most care about? It was shaping up to be the best until Undertaker rose from the dead and chokeslammed Edge. Screwy finish, but at least it makes sense. I'd tolerate it more if it was the only screwy finish since it makes the most sense. Overall, you need to work in more promos, spend more time on matches (If you have limited time, just make a couple matches that are long and not 5 matches that are short), and perhaps add a "Last week on BWR" thing to keep people up to date. You also need to think a little more about your match card. If I made this, the match card would be Jericho vs Orton was fine, but it wouldn't have a screwy finish this time. Monty would be fighting Burchill instead of Nitro. Tommy fighting Umaga was fine. Christian vs Taker would be fine. If I had the chance to rewrite this angle from the point when Christian called out Undertaker, it would have been Christian calling out HBK or another legend of the same caliber. Barrett Vs Edge was okay, it's ending was just made worse since three of the 5 matches had screwy finishes. In no way is my fed perfect, but I thank you for reminding me of all the good things pic fedding has to offer. Now I'm more motivated to finish Episode 2 of BDW. Pros: Good presentation (besides lack of crowd) Some backstage segments Good commentary Cons: Some poses are pretty bad due to them being RAs. The matches are way too short. The buried alive match used more weapons than the actual hardcore match Lack of heel continuity (Tommy's a bad guy, will RVD apologize? RVD is friends with Tommy and wishes him luck but tommy attacks Umaga from behind and RVD is a bad guy for hitting him after the match is over) Overall, it is still one of the best feds on this board, and I look forward to your next show. I give it an overall 7/10.

Thanks for the reply, Brick! Great to get one so in-depth. A few of the issues you raised would have been addressed if you'd been a BWR watcher for the past nine shows really, as there are some long storylines that have come to a head on this show. For example, Christian had a Legends' Challenge on the first four shows, and then called out any legend at the last PPV, and The Undertaker came out (similar to how you mentioned it could have happened). Nitro wanted revenge for Brown's attack on his girlfriend, who is also Burchill's sister. So, both got an opportunity to do so at different events, while the other stayed by Katie Lea's bedside(hence Burchill being in hospital). Edge was brought in on Shatter 4 and the first PPV by Barrett to help Barrett keep his title against Orton and Y2J. He did, but then turned on them and got a title shot of his own. In the meantime, he still had to deal with beefs with Orton and Jericho, who were unhappy that they were no longer number one contenders. I appreciate how they may be a bit more confusing if you've not watched the previous shows, so fair enough. The screwy finishes issue I have raised before, so I'll get to work on that. Thanks again!

I understood the legends challenge thing, I read the results for a couple of earlier shows as I made my way through this one I don't get why Burchil was in the hospital, I'd think he wouldn't be satisfied with a count out victory, but the angle made sense I guess Edge made sense, I just didn't like the finish. I still don't get the Dreamer situation so I'm going to guess he's a tweener.

Excellent effort put into this show. Was nice to see the storylines come to a conclusion. Jericho/orton was good as was nitro vs Monty but was really surprised at the winners. Dreamer/Umaga match I loved! Awesome spots throughout and glad to see Dreamer get the win. LOL, I knew RVD would swerve. Buried alive...Really enjoyed this match as well. Great spots throughout and the set up was done so nicely. Holyshyt! What an end to the World title match. Did not see that coming, but so well done. That was really awesome. My only suggestion would be, with their being such a lull this time between your shows, maybe put up a brief recap like the week before just to keep people caught up on the storylines. Shatter had alot of great storylines going on and I actually forget what some of them where heading into this show, but just a suggestion. Really love your work Titch, you can tell you enjoy this hobby. Looking forward to more BWR, as always:)

great show. it's been a long build. the title match was fantastic, and i am so happy that Dreamer has gold!
but the highlight was the buried alive match. I love it when people tackle out of the box matches. And you pulled it off fantastically! well done!
on a side note, i don't know if i have ever seen Taker win one of these, and i think there was outside interference in all of them
great show man!

This was a really good show. The props (the grave), the stage, the arena, and everything looked clean and well put together. The matches were good and I am pretty happy with how it all turned out. I thought this show really added to all your story lines. I am excited to see more. I like the way you book your fed. Seems pretty original to me. This show sent me back to the WWE PPV's of 2006. Great production value, I mean I love everything you edited in. My only gripes are there are a few blurry pictures. Also work on posing. It seemed to be stiff in some areas. Just work on posing and picture quality for the next shows.

I really enjoyed the show! The Buried Alive match was the best match in my opinion, followed by Edge vs Barrett. The other matches were great too, and all in all it made for great viewing!

S'Up Titch, my once yearly visit to the boards...
- Nice grave - Good opening match, heel Jericho is always good. Funny commentay from Coach. - Sweet Dana figure. - I'd totaly forgotten about Simon Dean, classic RA figure right there! - Nitro vs Brown was a bit meh, but nice poses on the finish. - Tommy Dreamer vs Umaga, now thats more like it...Awesome match, great poses and cool hardcore spots. Nice sneak attack from RVD. - Wooo Christian!! (Should have used the 'at last your on your own' theme), love Christian running around the ring, and then hiding under it. Really great match, loads of nice exchanges and spots, good character work on both guys, loved how Taker kept coming back. - Wasn't super into the main event until Taker came back from the dead which was AWESOME!!! Loved it. I'd go Taker/Barrett/Edge/Christian 4 way for the title at the next PPV.
Fun show, buried alive match was the highlight. Almost tempted to dust of the old figs now...

Sorry about the late reply. first time i was able to get off an apple device and crack open the laptop. special effects are awesome Glad Jericho won Posing was great especially the RKO love the use of obscure characters such as Dean, has a nice Wrestling City Mayhem feel. Stage/Arena is small but nic i prefer the one you had at the last joint ppv tho. You have a great grasp of everyones moveset makes the show that much more realistic Glad Dreamer picked up the gold, cocky stoner heel RVD is always great! This Buried alive match is just ing incredible the setup/match itself just beautiful. Great to see Christian pick up a big W love how you handle Christian Barrett/Edge was ok, good even but i feel the buried alive was the true main event much like a real show it drained me to see Barrett/Edge after that amazing buried alive match. Glad Wade retained Great PPV hope to catch some more BWR soon
