It's a fair point, but one I think any fighter deals with regardless if it's a leg injury or otherwise.
I'm just curious as to why he would throw a second leg kick, with the same leg, literally seconds after his last leg kick with the same leg was blocked. It's not like a jab, where you can throw it quickly and still set up for something else.
I think it's Bas Rutten that's always barking setting up kicks with punches, not the other way around.
I get that the leg kicks were affecting Weidman in the first bout, but I can't figure out much logic beyond that.

It will definitely be interesting to see if he still throws it - and if he's the same fighter. I do think he should have a warm-up/lesser fight, before having another fight with Weidman though.

Put the F you're right bro, it was Bas Rutten that always stressed setting kicks up with punches. When I watched the second fight, i saw Anderson was psychologically still effected from the first fight. Weidman hurt him in the clinch which normally doesn't happen. And wasn't like the kick that was checked was the only one he did that to. He checked every kick. A fighter as great as Anderson should have been able to pick up on that. Pride? Maybe. But Weidman did a great job regardless. If Silva comes back, which I dont think he should because of his age, he needs to get back to the basics to prevent himself from getting hurt like that again.

I think an equally interesting question is who is Silva going to face when he comes back?
GOAT or not, you can't just go to the top of the list when you've lost to the champion twice.
Unless Machida wins, in which case I highly doubt Silva would fight him.
I'd be down with Silva/Henderson 2.

I'd be down with anyone in the top 10. That gives Rockhold, Bisping, Mousasi, or even Hendo a chance to see where they are in the division as far as title ready. I doubt Munoz or Jacare will fight him because they are buddies, and as much as I like Sonnen, Silva has beat him twice.

Silva has lost first rounds before (against Hendo, Lutter, Sonnen - twice) and come back to win impressively. But yeah, he should probably take another fight - for his own sake - before taking on Weidman again (...if that's his intention?). I'd be down with Silva Vs the winner of Hendo/Shogun 2 - or something like Belfort 2, Bisping, or Rockhold.

I love Silva, one of my favorites of all time.
That said, I wanted him to retire after the Vitor fight. I never wanted to see the fall happen.

The second Sonnen fight would've been acceptable for me because it was his biggest rival to that point and dispatching him like that was a good send off. I do think now that the Wiedman loses are the changing of the guard. Anderson seemed like he was getting bored, and the UFC is that level of competition to where your head needs to be in the right place at all times.

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Silva fights at 205 at least for a little bit. With Machida at the top of the MW division it s gonna be hard to place him in fights. Especially if Machida beats Weidman which I doubt.

I think that he can beat Wiedman because his speed and style are going to be tough to combat.

Am I the only one that'd love to see a Franklin/Silva III fight? I mean, there's literally no reason to do it outside of Franklin wanting to. But it just seems like a fun fight, especially as Silva's return bout.

I have no interest in seeing Silva/Franklin III because I'd like for Franklin to retire on a win.

Silva if he comes back is in an odd spot. Short of Vitor and Mousasi I dont really care for the matchups available.

I thought of Mousasi. I'd watch that.

I love Anderson, but there is only ONE fight I want to see him in:
Silva VS. GSP in Dallas.
Neither guy has anything left to prove in their divisions. Neither guy is going to go after the titles again. All that's left is the money on the table, & based on each of their last fights, I think this makes all the sense in the world.

I suppose if George ever had the opportunity to make a catch weight in a healthy way, this would be it. I'd love to see Nick Diaz vs. Silva, as well.

GSP said it wouldn't be a fair fight because Anderson goes back up to 220-225 and GSP stays around 190 after cutting weight, but he would do it if they found a way to make it fair.

The catch weight would be tough for both guys considering that weight difference. But this matchup is very unlikely now due to Silva's leg and GSP's knee surgery. The time table would be right for it to be a return for both guys. It's the matchup we as fans want to see.
